  1. Does BF1 have a single player campaign? WW1 would be a really interesting & new story to explore Yes. It's great, if not a little frustrating at times.
  2. Heaven forbid smeone tries to leverage not working in a place they don't want to work. Everyone understands the way the system works, but why should someone be called a moron for using what little leverage they have to try to get out of a situation they don't want to be in?
  3. There is actually a meta-plot reasoning for not having Ackbar do this, and Rian Johnson explained it. When Holdo and Poe become contentious towards each other, we as the audience are meant to choose sides as it were, with Poe, as he's been established as "the hero". We already like Admiral Ackbar. With Holdo, we have a clear distinction between who we're supposed to choose as our "good guy" and root for. With the Dameron/Holdo dynamic, Johnson was given a chance to have a "twist", where the hero's plan failed, and the hero who we didn't like was the one who was actually right all along.
  4. SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS You've been warned! SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS! Ok, saw it today..... I enjoyed the film..... I wasn't "blown away". The plot line in the middle of the movie with the casino and whatnot felt very "prequel trilogy" to me. It just felt weird, disjointed, and out of place, and really ended up not mattering, other than giving Finn a plot device to have a hand to hand combat with Captain Phasma. Mark Hamill was, as advertised, fantastic. I love how his character has evolved from then to now, and his performance (imo of course) was amazing. I really enjoyed how they went a lot more in depth in talking about the force, and showing that it is more than just lifting things, and making you jump around really really fast during lightsaber fights. I feel like R2, C3P0, and Chewbacca are really just there now as nods to the fans, and serve minimal purpose. R2 was a plot device, and Chewbacca still flies around the Falcon, but aside from these things, they don't "do" anything. They're almost distracting, like they come on screen "Oh COOOOOOOOL it's C3PO!!" We had those moments in TFA.... I mean, find something more for these characters to do, or stop having them show up to unnecessarily push the nostalgia factor. This is just my opinion of course.... be it right or wrong, that's just how I feel about it.
  5. I would actually make a stronger case (personally) for Whitaker than I would for Trammel. Higher career WAR, counting stats are about the same, but what sticks out for me is Whitaker was more consistent. Trammel had some BAD offensive years, smack in the middle of his career. I think that for me, is what always stuck in my mind in the HOF consideration. I know his overall body of work is very good, but Trammel had 3-4 years in what would be considered the prime years I guess that were in the mid 600's, whereas Whit from 1981 til he retired after 1995 never had an OPS+ below 100. Who knows, maybe this sets the precedent for him.
  6. Yet they've had Rodgers starting for 10 years now and have one super bowl trip to show for it.... Don't tear it all down, but get a D-coordinator who will adapt and adjust his defensive scheme to fit the players he has, or get players to fit the scheme he runs, instead of continually trying to fit square pegs into round holes. Capers is a dinosaur, and hasn't figured out that the NFL is a different game than when he started playing zone blitz back in the early 90's.
  7. http://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/21732811/jack-morris-alan-trammell-elected-baseball-hall-fame-modern-era-committee I'm somewhat "meh" on Trammel. I never thought he was going to (or should) make it over the hump, but there are credible arguments for him to be included. I feel like Trammel's case is at least debatable, whereas Jack Morris was just a durable dude who pitched a long time, and often on good teams, so he racked up a lot of wins. A career ERA+ of 105, and he just happened to throw an awesome game in WS game 7.... that's what people remember. I'm not saying longevity shouldn't count, but Morris was never a dominator like a Clemens or a Randy Johnson or that type. Just not sure I like the door this is opening.
  8. Yes Hundley was 35 - 46, but it was averaging about 7 yards per completion, and about 5 yards per drop back. They needed OT (and a 14 point, 4th quarter comeback) to beat the Browns. The Browns. I always root for my teams to win, I always do. I don't care if the Packers make the playoffs this year, though I'll obviously cheer my ass off (and inevitably be dissapointed) if they do. But the reality is that if they SOMEHOW defy the odds and squeak in, or even if they don't, and finish 9-7 or 10 - 6, it will be justification to keep this ship on the same tired course it's currently on. I have never wanted a team I root for to clean house so badly as the Packers need to right now.
  9. 10 and 4 since trading for Bledsoe, and have moved to 4th in the East.
  10. https://www.hoopsrumors.com/2017/12/community-shootaround-best-fit-for-deandre-jordan.html No, please. I wouldn't mind having Jordan, but not at that cost.
  11. There's just no way I'd be comfortable to committing long term years and dollars to Nelson until we see that he comes back and is viable.
  12. Bang on point right here. I know a lot of people want an 8 team playoff, and yeah, if somehow a power-5 team goes undefeated and doesn't get in, that's an argument that could be made that an 8 team playoff is needed, but this would be one of those outlier years. Aside from that, everyone has made the points that if Wisconsin keeps winning, there are eliminator games for the teams ahead of UW. Miami and Clemson still have to play. Alabama and Auburn still have to play. Auburn/Bama winner still has to play Georgia. IF Wisconsin beats Michigan, beats Minnesota, and then beats tOSU, I really can't see a scenario where they're not ranked #4. If I had to predict right now, who would be going to the playoffs (assuming the Badgers win out of course), I'd be saying... 1. Bama 2. Oklahoma 3. Clemson 4. Wisconsin Bama beats Auburn (and then Georgia). I think Clemson beats Miami.
  13. - Possibly resign Walker for 2 years at a reasonable cost. - Keep Villar as the utility guy, and move Perez - Attempt to resign Swarzak for 2 years - Attempt to trade Broxton for young controllable talent. Phillips is ready, and it's sink or swim time for Brinson I think. - I don't think it's necessary to trade Aguilar or Thames. A platoon advantage is nice to have, and having a good bench is always a plus. - Non tender Vogt. He served a purpose, but he's in his 30's, and he's not good defensively. - Find a catcher (any catcher), even a reclaim/project type guy like Pina or whoever to start 70 games this year so Pina isn't starting 100+ games and wearing down again. - Not throwing out any specific names, but find a starter (just one) who can provide depth until Nelson gets back.
  14. If a guy blatantly changes a pivot foot in the post while being defended, it should be called (and I think it usually is). If a guy is streaking to the basket uncontested, I don't care if they take five steps. I want to see huge, ridiculous, earth shattering dunks, and I don't care if they dribble the ball on the way in.
  15. What I find interesting is that MM made multiple references to having "three years invested" in Hundley. Three years invested and you get 12/25, 87 yards, and a pick. I mean, I realize he's not the starter, but if after three years, that's what you got, you need to look at other options.
  16. His dad just died, every major sport or basketball publication has him as an MVP candidate, he had arguably his best game of his career, and had a steal/dunk/block sequence that lead directly to them winning the game, and people in Wisconsin are really excited about basketball. It's not embarrassing at all.
  17. Watched this about 6 times in slow mo. I'm counting 3 steps after he picks up the ball..... which will almost never get called. They'll usually call the first step after the dribble the step that's allowed as "gathering the ball".
  18. The dodgers just lost something like 17 of 18 or something like that. Every team, even the best teams, have bad stretches. Theres reasons to be upset that the Brewers didnt make it, but randomly cherry picking a few games isnt it.
  19. This game was 6-0 at one point with the entire season on the line, and they're going to lose. I could handle it if the Rockies won and clinched, but being eliminated like this is like getting kicked in the junk.
  20. Ive had a blast with this team this year. Regardless of the outcome, I already cant wait til next year.
  21. I mean..... some of them fought hard. Pitching staff, not so much. :p
  22. Yeah. Im gonna guess a lot of Shaw's 2nd half struggles may be due to the enormous emotional stress he and his wife are going through. There is no way you show up for work and just put that out of your mind every day.
  23. there are over 1500 reported injuries per year from foul balls at MLB games. How many are serious? Not sure. But that's a lot, and they could be prevented. I could say that about anything in life. So, let's definitely not do anything about it? That seems to be the insinuation. A net that is not an obstruction at all, and could prevent 1500+ injuries per year and could be added to every park at reasonable (and practically no cost, comparitively speaking) but the argument against it is "other things in life are dangerous too"? That doesn't even make sense. By that token I could say we shouldn't have airbags or seatbelts in cars, because other things are dangerous too.
  24. The Pirates have hung a 6-spot on the Cardinals in the 1st inning.
