  1. To be fair, he mentioned that Forsythe was better defensively, and had more defensive versatility, but yeah, I agree. RBI is a stat that almost doesn't matter one bit. It's entirely dependent on where you hit in the order, so for comparison purposes, should pretty much just be tossed out the window. I think other GM's maybe are not going to see a lot of viability in Scooter for the two facts that he does NOT have any defensive versatility at all, and historically, he's been super terribad vs. lefties. Yes, he did better vs. lefties this year, but does another GM see that as an abberation in the small sample size, or is it a change in his approach? I think it might be tough for Scooter/the Brewers to find someone who wants to find a full time job to give to a guy who's probably at best a 2 WAR player if they have younger/cheaper in house options, even if they're not as good. Better to find out what you might have, than a known quantity like Gennett, who has a pretty low ceiling.
  2. That is assuming they both started at the same talent level. What if it helped both of them equally, but Ozzie still stunk? PEDs wouldn't make me an MLB player. Peds don't even make me a decent power hitter in softball at this point.
  3. Badgers can't figure out if they want to be elite or not. They have an absolutely superb trio of players in Happ, Koenig, and Hayes, and the rest of the guys are all really good, but they just can't....quite... put it together for the really dominating wins you'd think they are capable of. All that said, they're top 15, and should be a lock for a 4 or 5 seed, barring a major injury or a major late season slide.
  4. No surprise today but Giannis named a starter for the asg. While it was probably expected, it's still awesome for him and for the bucks.
  5. I've been having this thought as well. This team could really use his presence.
  6. I'd respond to your football points but your continued inability to converse without being petty and insulting gets in the way of that. Check out the terms of service if you need a refresher.
  7. The problem with that play is no one covered the flat. I don't know why such mistakes happen so often. The DBs seem to be on totally different pages on many plays. That pass wouldn't have gotten a first down if the DB was where he was suppose to be. Well, that was happening almost every play in the 2nd half.
  8. During the Cowboys game, even McCarthy just seemed plain dumbfounded by the defensive play and playcalling. I realize that the personnel isn't up to snuff, but on a 3rd and 11 and you're playing 15 yards off the receivers, and Dallas easily completes a pass on the soft zone for a crucial first down, the camera caught McCarthy on the sideline with a "REALLY???" look on his face. At some point in a critical juncture of a season ending/elimination game, you have to ask your guys to (attempt) to make a play, don't you?? Even if you try and fail, at least TRY.
  9. They had a great, GREAT player at every level in 2010. Rod Woodson, Nick Collins, Clay Matthews (playing at his absolute peak. Cullen Jenkins playing havoc on the line. Is it fair to say Capers got "lucky"? I don't know, but there was pro-bowl talent at every level. (Not directing this next bit at anyone in particular) The thing is, every year our defense struggles to cover the pass, cover the middle of the field, and stop teams from scoring (we've been pretty mediocre since 2010) and it seems that a very vocal part of the fan-base wants to say "Injuries!" Look, this is the NFL. EVERY TEAM PLAYS THROUGH INJURIES. Find me a team that doesn't. It just doesn't happen. For the Packers, the problem is compounded badly when Thompson refuses to plug holes. How many games did we play this year without a true running back? You can't just say "Injuries!" over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over in the NFL like it's an actual valid excuse for 6 years running. There have been times the Patriots used WR's for DB's. There were times that Tom Brady's top targets were Deion Branch and David Givens! (WHO????) You play on! That's the NFL. Next man up. If someone is in the NFL, whether they're a First rounder, or a practice squad guy, we have to assume they have SOME kind of talent and ability to play, and be out on the field. No, some UDFA practice squad guy is probably not as good as the first rounder, but he's still probably here in the NFL for a reason, he's still more athletic and talented and physically gifted than 99.5% of all the people out there. NE is playing without Gronk right now. I mean, look at ANY teams injury report, and you'll see no less than 8 - 10 guys or more. Do Packer fans really think the Packers are the only team to play through tough injuries? Atlanta has 11 guys on their injury report right now. NE has 9 guys. Packers have 12. The Steelers have 14!! I wonder if their fans use the injury excuse as much as ours do.
  10. I don't think Capers is to blame for bad defensive backs and linebackers that can't cover. That's on Thompson. I think it's a tandem effort. When you're given linebackers that can't cover, would you continue calling coverages that ask guys to do things you know they can't do? If you have a defensive coordinator that calls/runs a certain type of defense, do you go get guys who aren't able to do the things the playcalling requires them to do? This is what's really REALLY maddening about the Thompson/Capers duo to me, it's like Thompson doesn't understand that Capers needs certain types of players to run his defense, and Capers absolutely refuses to adjust his defense when he doesn't have the players he needs to run the defense he wants to run.
  11. This Packers defense is so bad... but somehow Rodgers and company just keep bailing them out. The fact that Capers keeps his job year after year is reaching mind boggling levels to me. It's unfortunate, because this team would legitimately have a great shot at multiple super bowls during Rodger's prime, but having this mediocre (and sometimes terrible) defense is handicapping them in a major way.
  12. Well, it's not just perception. They're in the top 10 in the league in both O and D efficiency, their PPG differential puts them at the top of the East......things like that. I'm going off of what the metrics say, not just my eye test. https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/the-milwaukee-bucks-mediocre-record-is-hiding-a-dangerous-team/ And it's definitely not perception that they're blowing games late "And even after Antetokounmpo’s heroic last-second shot to beat the Knicks on Wednesday, Milwaukee’s stats in crunchtime (when the score is within 5 points in the last five minutes or overtime) are among the worst in the NBA." If the Bucks figure out how to finish games, they *could* (not should, but could) be a 50 win team.
  13. This petition is sad and embarrassing. People need to seriously stop with this sort of thing.
  14. Absolutely true. On this particular play, Cobb wasn't even supposed to be the catcher/jumpman, he was supposed to box out for Davonte Adams. I honestly don't know why they specify cartain roles for the guys down there though, as the ball is going to come down where it comes down, and everyone has to just be ready to do whatever is necessary, be it tip the ball, just catch it, box out, or whatever.
  15. Not only a great win, but a great 4th quarter by the Bucks. By just about every single metric you can find, the Bucks are somewhere between either the 3rd or 4th best team in the Eastern Conf, and yet there they are, down in 7th place. They really, really, really need to learn how to close out games. That's what's keeping them from being as good a team as they can be.
  16. I think the new Metallica album is actually in the "really good" (not great) category. While it's not what I'd call *thrash* category, it's got a lot of elements that are musically and thematically similar to earlier Metallica, and just reminiscent of what made them an actual good band. Death Magnetic was crap, and I think the main reason a lot of people didn't like St. Anger was that there was a lot of experimentation going on with the sound quality that was completely unnecessary (and no guitar solos? Come on!) Some people won't be happy unless they get a MoP 2.0, which......that's never going to happen. It's just not. But I think this new album was probably the best album at least since the Black album, and it's worth listening to. After Re-load, St. Anger, and then Death Magnetic, I just expected to be disappointed yet again, but this was mildly surprising
  17. I just didn't like going for it there with an 8 point lead and being at that position on the field. You JUST failed to move the ball on a one yard plunge up the middle, so you tried it again? I think (like a lot of people) a rollout with an option to the flat would have been a good idea there, but even so, I just don't like going for it there..... punt and give your defense a chance to play.
  18. Duke standout and karate kid 4 wannabe Grayson Allen got exactly one game for kicking a player for the third time in a calender year. What an absolute joke. I'm tired of coach kreshelewasebaleszkowalski holding himself up as the absolute moral authority in college hoops. That the acc is ok with this is also a joke.
  19. Age. He's 24. That extra five years in regards to a lot of kids in the first round is what did it. But thankfully for us he is just what we needed. I can see that argument, but at the same time, this kid (young man!) was obviously "ready" for the NBA. A lot of these guys at 19-20 need at least a few years of seasoning and coaching before they're completely ready to take on heavy NBA rotation minutes. Look at Giannis. He was completely lost on the offensive side of the floor for his first season. The Bucks were pretty much playing 4 on 5 on offense every time down. Brogdon won't be a superstar, but he's a guy at 24 who is ready to step in and take 25 minutes a game right now, and can do everything for you (triple double!). It's not like he's "old".....he's 24. Just find it interesting, that's all. I'm a fan of this guy already. I like his game and everything he brings to the table.
  20. I liked Brogdon right when they made the pick, and he's done nothing but deserve the minutes he's played. No idea how this guy slipped into the 2nd round. What a steal.
  21. Thank you sir. I am at work and didn't have time to do this research. I knew it had to be less than 40% during the WC era.
  22. This question is based on a hypothetical premise that doesn't apply in actual real world baseball though. There is no scenario in which you can guarantee a world series victory. Even assuming the Brewers could assemble the "best" team, (which is going to be difficult, given payroll limitations,) that is not even close to a guarantee of winning the world series. Getting into the playoffs is, and always will be the best bet of winning the whole thing. I'd be curious to see how often the team with the best overall record even wins the world series. I'm guessing less than 40% of the time, just off the top of my head.
  23. Schilling's drop could have something to do with the fact that he's a tin-foil hat wearing loonybin candidate. I know it has nothing to do with his on-field performance, but he's gone completely off the deep end these last few years, and could definitely fall within the parameters of "character".
  24. I also have a ps4 (whiskey7400 .... hmu) I play Battlefield 1 occasionally. I get more into the campaign mode honestly. Some great set-piece moments. I play a ton of Overwatch. Closing in on level 200. Probably one of my favorite playstation games of all time. So much better if you have at least 1 or 2 co-op team mates than just a random queued up team. Probably about 100 hours into No Man's Sky. It's good, not great, and it's certainly not bad, like the hate filled Redditors who say they were 'lied to' by Hello Games want you to believe. The game is super chill, and is even better since they added base building with the latest patch. Star Wars Battlefront was pretty good but I kind of drifted away form that after they started releasing all the paid DLC. Pretty sure I'm getting both Infinite Warfare and Skyrim for X-mas.
