  1. We lost to the Vikings, but the Vikings lost to the Lions. I know that it's not a direct 1 - 1 correlation, but .... oof.
  2. As expected, Alabama gets the 1 seed, Michigan 2, Georgia 3, and Cincy 4. Not surprised.
  3. There's just a huge, almost vast gulf between trading Bradley's contract, and trading the contract owed to Yelich. I won't say never, I mean, virtually anything is possible. But if you consider the amount of trade capital the Brewers would have to include to entice someone to take that contract on, there's almost no way it makes sense to shed the kind of prospects we'd have to get rid of instead of just letting him play it out and hope against hope that we get SOME kind of production out of him. IF, .... he has a big big big rebound year in 2022, this scenario might become slightly more plausible, but that's a big if.
  4. The conference championships do matter. Utah went out there and poured everything they had into blasting Oregon into the center of the sun, to earn a trip to the Rose Bowl. It might not matter to casual college fans, but it certainly mattered to Utah, and their fans.
  5. I'm going on the assumption that the committee is going to jump Alabama to #1. I could be wrong, but I'm going to stick with that until proven wrong. The bigger takeaway is there's people that think Michigan doesn't belong in the CFP. I mean, if there's an argument for that, I want to legitimately hear it.
  6. Let's have this in the transactions/rumors forum, and keep it open.
  7. Bama probably smacks Cincy by 20. If Georgia's defense couldn't slow down Bama, I don't see how Cincy does. Of course, it took Bama overtime to put up 24 points on Auburn. Not to say that Cincy didn't earn the trip to the playoffs, they absolutely did, by beating ND, and then pretty much destroying everyone else on their schedule, as that's pretty much all you can do as a non P5 team. I have a gut feeling we're going to see a Bama/Georgia rematch, and outside of deep south, I can't imagine anyone's too interested in that.
  8. Cincy beat Notre Dame. Okie State had a slim chance to make an argument, and (literally) fell inches short yesterday. There's not a single team in the ACC, Pac 12, or Big 12 that has less than 2 losses. They're *all* out. Michigan WHOOPED Ohio State, and then destroyed Iowa. The only mystery today should be whether Michigan or Georgia is #2, and that honestly doesn't matter. Alabama vs. Cincy, and Georgia vs. Michigan.
  9. https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/notre-dame-is-running-out-of-reasons-to-keep-brian-kelly-after-latest-indiscretion/ there's also the time Brian Kelly killed a guy
  10. I like that once I have started watching a show or movie, I can go back and lick it up from the point I left off, or start over from the beginning. at any time, from any device. also. the billing. it's 65 bucks plus tax. there's not 28 extra charges for fees, extra fees, fees for the envelope they sent you the bill in, extra fees for the library fund, fees for the time it took to figure out all the extra things they could charge you for, etc etc etc my us cellular bill had a line on it once with no attached fee, just ...... 98 cents. no fee or explanation, just 98 cents. I went to the us cellular store and asked what it was for. they had no clue. I asked them to take it off. they said they couldn't. lol. it took me 2 phone calls and 45 minutes to get rid of a 98 cent recurring charge for nothing at all I'm not paying a fee for literally nothing. telecom companies will literally charge you a fee for nothing if you don't watch your bill. (us cell is owned by TDS, btw...)
  11. NLI are licensed by the players association, so they may have to take those down while there's no agreement in place, I think.
  12. Seriously, once you have youtubetv set up, which takes about 5 minutes of creating an account, it's just like watching "regular" tv. As far as not having as many channels as cable tv.... how many channels on cable do you all actually watch? Like legitimately go down the list and take a hard look at all the 200 channels and legitimately say "I for sure spend an appreciable amount of time watching The Hallmark Channel, the Shopping Network, the Cooking Channel (Diners DRIVE INS, and DIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVES!), and for sure VH1, VH2, VH3, all the way up to like VH8, lololol. You're paying a buttload for a butt load of channels you NEVER watch. You get a channel guide, all the Channels like ESPN, ESPN+ and the local channels FOX, CBS, NBC, etc, that are local to your market, SPIKE, all the turner and news channels, etc, etc. you lose some fluff that most people probably don't bother with. If it's THAT important, get Roku. Save some money. As far as "all the tech stuff" it takes to set up a VPN to watch MLB in market, it honestly takes a few minutes and it's super simple. My neighbor took a trip to China about 4 years ago, and needed access to some stuff on his computer, via the internet, and it took me literally 5 minutes to show him how to use a VPN, and this guy is pretty darn tech un-savvy. If someone just doesn't wanna do it ...... I get it. But it's *not hard*, and there's a lot of money to be saved. I used to pay for Spectrum and not only did I get raked over the coals with their billing, I got So, so, so, so tired of the bullcrap customer service, and frankly, the horrible up time. Youtube TV and AT&T internet and I pay 115 bucks a month instead of 250 bucks a month (and I find online streams for Brewer games) and there's simply no way it's not worth the, literally, few minutes I put into it.
  13. In 4 of the last 5 full seasons (taking out Covid), he's thrown 32 or more starts. Stroman (seems) to buck the trend of "short guy" starters. He's also not a super hard thrower. Unless things start showing up in his 30's, he should be fine. He pitches to contact, he's not a big velocity guy, he's not got a long history of injuries, and he's honestly got a great track record of success if you look at the advanced metrics. Big time ground ball guy, FIP and xFIP like him a lot. He should be tough on the Brewers (unfortunately) for the next 3 years.
  14. I think it'll be interesting to see how many people actually care about this. A lot of people are saying they're angry about it, or that MLB is crooked, but is the viewership numbers or attendance numbers going to take a hit because of it? That's the only thing that's going to make a difference.
  15. let's keep this thread about other mlb news, not the Brewers payroll. thanks
  16. If Wall gets a buyout from the Rockets, he's going to have options and choices of where he can go. Unless he absolutely finds no other takers (not likely), he's not gonna come to MKE to play 20 - 25 minutes a game (what Hill's been getting since Jrue's been healthy) and be a backup and benchwarmer.
  17. Would be nice to have someone that can keep a large lead so the starters do not have to come back in. pretty sure that's not the kind of role Wall sees for himself.
  18. I just don't see how there's enough minutes (or touches) if they were to somehow bring in Wall. great player at a position we don't really have a need.
  19. no way of knowing if a player accepts that qo, and paying Garcia almost 20 mil is not a great idea. that kind of gamble isn't worth the potential prize of getting a 1st round pick. let's wait and see how the off season plays out before we call this a failure.
  20. this is why I wasn't worried when they were struggling.
  21. Good plan, except you can't watch Brewers games on mlbtv, in market that is. Or use a VPN.
  22. I'm glad Garcia's getting paid, and I'm glad we're not the one's giving him a 4 year deal. He's too inconsistent for a team like the Brewers to be going 4 years to a guy in his 30's. Good for him though.
  23. I guess we'll find out if the Packers approach works out if they fizzle out in the NFC title game again or not. Going out last year and spending out and filling the roster with disparate parts seemed to work for the Bucs.
  24. Adames created more runs in 100 fewer PA's. Adames was certainly impactful after he arrived. But that wasn't until the end of May. Garcia missed some time here and there due to injury, but he was consistent all season for the most part. He was a big part of the Brewers getting out to an early lead in the division. The Brewers were below .500 when they acquired Adames. If you wanna say "Garcia was the best bat in the lineup last season" that's arguable from certain standpoints. Saying "it wasn't even close" is easy to debunk.
  25. That is going to be difficult. He was the best bat in the lineup last season, and it wasn't particularly close. I personally think he's going to be a huge loss. Adames created more runs in 100 fewer PA's.
