  1. Keep in mind all these guys are pretty well above their career high in innings. Every time they pitch, they're pitching a new career high in IP. Saving a few IP for October isn't a terrible idea either.
  2. Brent Suter is a .5 WAR pitcher, with 12 wins. Woodruff is 5.6 WAR, with 9 wins. I know which one was more important to the Brewers overall success.
  3. It is "on the Giants". If they don't want a one game WC game, they have to win more games than the 108 win Dodgers. Simple.
  4. I don't care what other team's fans think. And neither should the Brewers. CC's job is to get us to the Postseason healthy after locking up the division and playoff seeding. Just yesterday the Dodgers lost Clayton Kershaw, possibly for the season. That alone should be incentive enough for us to see the virtue of the play-it-safe approach for these very very meaningless games at this point.
  5. Had a 5-1 lead yesterday in the 5th. Trea Turner ran into one and made it a completely different game. Stuff happens. They'll get over it.
  6. What's a while? They're 14 - 12 in September.
  7. If Avisail Garcia and Wily Adames aren't power threats, neither is Rowdy Tellez.
  8. Yep ... especially considering that Mertz actually looked a lot better before getting trucked today. A lot better than what? He's looked pretty brutal so far, so looking a lot better than "awful" isn't a high bar to clear. He started 0-4 and was 8-15 for 115. I'm not gonna draw a lot of conclusions from that. Fair or not, Coan and Mertz are going to be compared going forward, but we have what we have. It is what it is. Mertz sucks, this offense sucks, and Cryst, right now, sucks. One half of "doesn't suck" qb play isn't enough to get me close to excited about this team how it stands right now. Michigan did ANYTHING they wanted in the 2nd half, and Mertz being in there wasn't going to change that one bit. The O-line is going to get whatever QB we have killed, whether it's Coan, Mertz, Wolff, Dan Marino, or a space robot. Doesn't matter. Unless/until Cryst figures out "running the same 5 plays over and over" isn't working (it's not) and injects some life into the offense with some motion, some wrinkles, creativity or SOMETHING, we have bigger things to worry about than Coan and ND.
  9. I'm good with Michigan running up the score. Embarrass PC. He's not doing his job.
  10. The run defense has been good today.
  11. Tolzien was a good qb. Not great, but good. He wasn't a game changer, but good enough to be the QB for a top 10 team, and not mess things up. Stave was alright. Hornibrook was alright, but he couldn't hit a receiver in stride at ALL.
  12. lol Michigan going for 2 as if WI can drive the field once, let alone 3 times. hahahahaha
  13. It seems Chase Wolf wasn't the answer. Huh
  14. Decent burst, seems like he has good vision to find the hole quickly, but you're right. Seems like first contact takes him down more often than not. He's not a *tough* runner. At all.
  15. Rutgers has to play OSU and MSU the next few weeks. Let's see how real they actually are. We might have 2 more wins on the schedule. And Nebraska could be 3.
  16. We've won a lot of football games in the last 25 years with some pretty average QB play. Even at times mediocre QB play. We now have a bad QB, because the average/good QB left because he lost his starting gig because of injury. We have a bad OL, a group of average RB's (at a school that specializes in running the ball), and here we are. Who recruited these guys? Who's in charge of the people recruiting these guys?
  17. They might not complete a pass.
  18. Not really what I meant. Just that postseason baseball is enough of an emotional trainwreck that I don't need the added stress of maybe having to watch the Cardinals celebrate. I believe in this team as much as any Brewer team of my lifetime. Losing will suck no matter who it happens to and when. IF I am going to have to face that disappointment, though, I'd rather it not be the Cardinals on the other side of it. I kind of want another shot at the Dodgers too. Maybe that's crazy, but I don't think Scherzer and Kershaw are healthy. We can take them in a 7-game series. When my team loses, I turn it off as soon as the game is over. Problem solved.
  19. outgained in the first q 128- 3 lol. This team is an embarrassing joke at the moment. Cryst has no idea what he's doing. I don't even want to support this by wasting my Saturday afternoons watching this anymore. I used to think he was a good coach, and a great choice and fit for this program. I can admit when I'm wrong. No leadership, can't or won't adjust, and just ........ oof. I don't expect WI to be in the national title discussion, but this is just painful to watch. We went from being a top 25 program to not even being able to be competitive in 2 years.
  20. I think the Packers defense is probably middling-bad, and will make some bad offenses look at least mediocre. That being said, Big Ben showed a lot of signs in the 2nd half of the season last year that he was slowing up, and even though his final season stat line looked pretty good, he might have been wise to hang 'em up and call it a career. This Pittsburgh offense just doesn't have a lot to offer, and I think the Packer should handle this game without a lot of fuss I hope. 31 -21.
  21. So are we pretty much decided at this point we're not going to the WS? We're either losing to the Dodgers or the Cardinals in the NLCS, if we somehow manage to squeak past the Braves?
  22. We were told this offense needed some work going into the playoffs.
  23. right. they are the #10 offense. every team can play what if. but they aren't a desperately bad offense like a few are making them out.
