  1. Yeah, I just looked online and it seems like all of "the usual suspects" have already called things off tomorrow. I was told by another parent that an announcement was made after school today indicating Madison would notify the media between 4:30 and 5 AM regarding closing tomorrow. I'm sure the notification could come before that, but I assume that is their self-imposed deadline to get word out. I think they normally wait until 6 AM at the latest. If they want to close tomorrow, fine by me. I've already got a sitter lined up and wouldn't mind a sleep-in day midweek.
  2. Regarding hawing's message... The MMSD sent home a letter with students on Monday indicating the guidelines for a "cold day". I think it was their way of saying 'make daycare plans because school is going to be closed'.
  3. So, if Owen is leaving, that means there's a slot open. Heller and Burnie--it has a certain ring to it, plus bringing me around won't be threatening to Heller because he's a better golfer than me and has nicer hair.
  4. I agree completely. I know I overpaid last year, but I got to go. I also know there's the "go to the 2nd game of the year" people, but that's not too easy this year either as its a weekend game against the Cubs. I think the Brewers may sell out of those 9 packs in quite a hurry on Friday AM--I know I'm thinking about buying a couple.
  5. It's going to be hard for them to get any tickets not bought from a Brewer fan looking to cash in. I doubt there will be any general sales for Opening day, everything will surely be tied up in packages. If you're financially motivated, you could likely pay for your 9-game package by selling the free Opening Day tickets that come with it.
  6. Just got an email from Leff's. Brewers are not offering any group packages for the opener vs. Cubs. http://www.leffs.com/leffs/html/Tailgate2009.html
  7. Not over yet, but BC (the team who beat UNC at Chapel Hill) is down by 14 to Harvard with 4 minutes to play...and this is a BC home game. Edit- Game over, Harvard wins, 82-70. Talk about a hangover game for BC.
  8. Thanks for posting this...bottom of 7th now (10:30 AM).
  9. I had a LH catcher back when I played in the Land O Lakes "minors", which I think was called Rivers or was it called "County" (for high school kids in the summer--I can remember the name). He was my favorite catcher because it seemed the left hand glove helped me pitch more to the outside corner for a RH batter.
  10. Really? I don't have a DVD player set up in my living room because the PS2 was always used as my DVD player. I have them in the other rooms, but not on the main TV.
  11. I haven't read the owner's manual, but I'm assuming the Wii plays DVDs, right? I get the feeling I may want to watch some old school comedy tonight. I suppose I could just slap one in and see what happens....
  12. I have played the Wii Sports with my daughter and I knew those were "active" games with the remotes. I was just curious if the "real" (Madden, etc.) sports games incorporated the same actions.
  13. Do you have any left? I'd like one if any are still available.
  14. Got my daughter a Wii--I know nothing about video games, as the only thing I've probably played in the last 5 years was Tiger Woods on the PS2. That being said, how do you actually play the sports games? Am I actually performing throwing motions/batting swings if I play baseball or is there just a basic remote? I really used to like hockey games, how are those played? Sorry if these questions seem really stupid, but like I said, I almost never play games and know absolute zero about Wii games. Thanks!
  15. Probably. They'd rather send me daily emails about the Brewers shop online with the $30 t-shirts.
  16. 20 is only old if you're a dog.
  17. Every year we get my Mom a new photo taken of all the grandkids (6) which she absolutely loves. Not always easy to get everyone's schedule to work to take the picture, but well worth the effort. We also got her a digital photo frame for her desk at work. It was my understanding that she had about 50 framed photos taking up desk space, so now she can have 1000s of pics in one frame. For my Dad, we got home a brand new Nesco roaster which became a necessity after his 30-something year old Nesco took a crap at Thanksgiving. He also got the basic Dad gifts: a grill cover, bar accessories, etc. (and I got him plastic reindeer that poops candy as a gag).
  18. Wait a minute Robbo, aren't the Ting Tings some kind of kids band that plays songs on Noggin/Nickelodeon? As for me, time to un-hip this list.... Testament-The Formation of Damnation Metallica- Death Magnetic Buckcherry- Black Butterfly
  19. Oh man, I remember that 1987 poster. I had that thing hanging on my wall forever. Unfortunately, I'm sure it met the trash at some point because of all the thumbtack holes ripping the corners apart.
  20. Again, why can't they sell these online?
  21. Cash and beer. Seriously. What else could a guy ask for?
  22. Or what kind of punter you have. I'm sure you Packer fans understand this all too well.
  23. Bingo! Christmas Vacation is must see. You couldn't pay me to watch any other Christmas movies. I got home from Christmas with family, popped in Vacation and drank a few gift beers.
  24. I haven't pitched since my college years, but back then I was low 80s with the fastball. My problem was I threw it too straight and over the plate. I needed to be a bit more wild. I had a decent curve and a change that was ever-evolving, but becoming reliable. I had a good knuckler but never threw it because my motion was so different, you'd know it was coming.
  25. The one at West Towne had 36" TVs (doubt they were plasma) for I think, $300 (again, I think that's what it said.) They are selling the rest as well. There was a bulletin board near the register with prices for all fixtures, etc.
