    This Mets/Cubs game really excites me and makes me nervous. If we can get to 1 game for the final push, I'm excited, if not, I don't feel good about our odds. That half a game is big.

    It's kind of hard to rant against Torres, even if he has looked rough as of late. It is quite probable that we wouldn't even have a chance at this point without him stepping into the closer role for us. (Yes, that statement can cut both ways depending on your viewpoint I realize.)

    I won last year, and failed this year. I'll take that as a proof positive indication that we'll make the playoffs this year, since we didn't last year. That is just a logically sound argument no matter which way you slice it.

    I don't know how many times I've heard that over the past two seasons. That and, "this game will haunt us if we miss the playoffs by 1 game." That speaks on several levels about our misery.

    Funny post on NSBB about the Edmonds toss; "Shouldn't have been tossed but Covergirl needs to stop whining about every stike he doesn't like." Super classy post on NSBB about the Edmonds toss; "Edmonds should knock this a hole out... He is trying to act like a tough guy... should have received a helmet to the face, he's horrible and it wouldn't have blurred his judgement any."

    So true story: Last night I was telling someone how literally the night before our boys where born in May, was the beginning of that awful stretch in May, and literally the day they came home from the NICU, the Brewers went on that tear to be the hottest team in the league forever until September. I was joking that I couldn't figure out what had changed with the boys in September though. My wife comes home from work today, and she had taken this Brewers cowbell that a friend found for me, to her classroom to use to ring when the kids where acting up. She comes home today and tells me that one of her students asked her to get rid of it because the Brewers hadn't been winning since she brought it in. So I proceeded to give her a lot of trouble about how that was the link I had just been looking for, and she needed to get rid of it. 10 minutes later its a tie ball game and now she believes me. I'm sorry for doing that to you all.

    Hey, Braun is 3 for 3 against Wood. That can only mean good things right?

    Outside of Torrres, the bullpen has pitched very well this series. Hopefully McClung can hold the fort here and Braun can make up for it next inning.

    Wow, I need to leave to go to the bank more often.

    True, but based off trwi7's comment about how they're actually hitting the ball on the nose today, and if they're being selective finally, I can't be as upset about 1 hit. Sometimes the breaks don't go your way. I'd be far less upset about this collapse if we hadn't been looking like amateurs most of the time. Today doesn't sound like that's really the case. But that's just the impression I have from sitting at my computer.

    I'm only watching on Gamecast, but I would have to assume if we drove him to 120ish pitches in 5 innings, that there should be something said about good pitch selection finally? Or was his control that horribly off?

    ESPN Gamecast says the chance of scoring this inning is 67%. Middle of the order don't fail me now.
