  1. Marketed to Cubs a few years ago? Heck, they gave out Illinois state quarter collection sets at the final game this year. I was surprised to not see a thread about that. As for the musician, I'm surprised they could pinpoint him seeing as at least half the crowd had to be singing that song all week in Miller Park that week. But, I wouldn't want to see a musician that MP put in to play, playing the other team's victory song for them. I would have been pretty annoyed if I had seen it in person.
  2. My thoughts only; There is no way they'll be selling Preferred parking the day of. They already warn that a lot of Preferred will be eaten by MLB, and they removed Gold parking already. But the kicker is, they've been having you show a parking pass to get into the Preferred lot already for some time, so I don't see that changing in the playoffs in any way. Last year, I was given only an option for General parking with the playoff package, so that should carry forth this year that they tried to sell a lot of the general parking with ticket packages to seat holders. So as I see it, most of the parking is probably going to be sold ahead of time, and if people start anticipating that, it may be sold out completely before the game. If I didn't have parking already, I'd buy it now and still get out there early.
  3. Here's the language from the Post Season folder; Knowing that parking space at Miller Park for the Postseason will be very limited due to the extra space required for TV broadcast trucks and MLB functions, we automatically reserved parking for our SSHs. PLEASE NOTE: If you choose not to purchase parking in advance for Postseason, it is highly unlikely that you will be able to park at Miller Park grounds. GOLD PARKING does not exist for Postseason. Full season accounts were automatically invoiced for preferred parking. The vast majority of Partial Season Accounts that purchased a preferred parking pass for the regular season were automatically invoiced for preferred parking. Due to limited preferred parking inventory, we were unable to accommodate all accounts.
  4. I would love to be there, but I'm pretty sure my wife is ready to bury me in the backyard after sticking her with the twins 5 of the last 6 days so I could be at MP.
  5. So I take it your way is the one that qualifies as the realistic view in the thread title? Pessimistic more-so, realistic is debatable. You could look at any game and say, if this happens, or that doesn't happen, then the result is different. That isn't exactly realism. The reality of the situation is the Brewers are in the post-season, and I'm overjoyed. It was a tremendous week, and I'll probably forever get chills from this week and having been a part of it. I'd like to see us put up a good challenge and go deep, but I'm fine riding this wave at the moment.
  6. The literature that came with the initial postseason info said that not everyone was offered parking. If you had parking on your existing package, they offered you parking, and then it was somewhat random who got offered parking after that. As for people tailgating without actual game tickets, I doubt that will be a big issue really. In the preferred parking lots, they've been making you show a parking pass to get into the lot for awhile. I would assume they'll do the same here because parking will probably be largely sold out before the game I'd bet.
  7. I don't normally go into the stadium early enough for batting practice, so maybe there is nothing to this, but yesterday during BP, Hardy and Escobar were practicing double play turns with JJ at short and Escobar at 2B. I'm on board that CC was worth every dime we paid for him. He is already a legend for this city, and the book isn't even closed yet.
  8. The board at the game said there were gifts for the first 10,000 people as well.
  9. Ya, Sunday, they weren't bad. There was one Cubs fan by us that was cheering when the Mets tied up their game, and saying some trash, but the rest weren't bad. A few around us stayed around and watched the Mets ending and said good luck to us. Saturday on the other hand...
  10. I've been like a kid on Christmas Eve all week. I've been at all but Wednesday's game and I can NOT wait to go back out there tomorrow. This has been a week I won't forget as a sports fan, leaving any cynicism behind. Ya, we shouldn't be in this position, but we are, we can't change that. We go on from where we are now. Do or die, sink or swim, I'll be there, and it will have been a blast.
  11. I told my wife last week in Chicago that he has given us some huge performances this year and deserved a lot of credit for doing something most of us didn't expect. He's been as important as Villy was for us last year, doing what is asked of him even when he's bounced around. He got treated very well by the fans tonight, which was great.
  12. I was actually wondering how people don't get hurt in that mob just last night. CURSE-ED THOUGHTS!
  13. It's outstanding to hear that he likes playing here that much. I think he's a tremendous player for any team to have, it seems as a person as well as an athlete, but there's just no way we can afford to have him on the books unfortunately. It's been an absolute thrill to have him for the time we will, I just hope we cross that threshold with him this weekend.
  14. First, thanks to Jamie for letting me hang out with him tonight, I'd be so mad at myself for not having gone tonight. It was a great time hanging out with Jamie, we'll do it again sometime. As for Gagne, I don't think most people noticed he came in at first. I think he got a pretty decent cheering at the end of the inning, and I didn't notice any worthwhile booing of him at least. I for one love my new best friend Eric Gagne.
  15. Also, FYI, the graphic is no longer on brewers.com, so that should mean they're all gone within an hour. Amazing how fast that spread.
  16. My friend and I were discussing at the game Tuesday night about how much Gagne actually does for the community, this is really insanely cool for a guy who has been given such a hard time by the fans. Class act on Gagne's part. I can't find a link to it at the moment, but he and Suppan had each donated something like $20,000 earlier this year to rebuild flooded little league parks in the area as well.
  17. This seems like the best thread for this instead of staring a new one; From JS I tried to get a picture of this yesterday on StubHub. There were plenty of tickets available and prices were all over the place, from people just trying to get rid of them, to people trying to ask for $500 for tickets that cost $36 originally.
  18. Heck, the lady walking down the stairs in front of me as I left the game last night, said Yo was pitching Thursday. No joke.
  19. I had moved over to the left field bleachers around the 7th inning, and ya, we were surprised by that. They looked like a ton of high school kids in that area though. In general I agree the crowd was decent last night. The booing wasn't as bad as I expected by any means, and I think the observation that fans were just mostly uneasy most of the game is accurate. They were up and excited for good moments, and tense about things going south during most any other moment. I really think the way the game played out was great for the fans and should make for good crowds for the next couple of days. Hopefully the guys respond and the support should be hopefully pretty great for the final weekend. And I just now thought of this, but I don't recall Corey getting booed, which I had initially expected after his comments two weeks ago.
  20. Actually my friend and I both noticed how many people left after the bottom of the 8th, after it was tied back up. It certainly wasn't a mass exodus, but there were a somewhat surprising amount of people leaving a tied game in the 8th. I believe Brian and/or Bill said it was a standing ovation. There were people standing, yes, I was among them, but in general, I'd say half of the people in the stadium at that time were in sitting in their seats, not standing. To be fair, the stadium was pretty slow to fill up last night, so had more people been in the stadium at that time, it may have been different.
  21. Fortunately the rain has never been all that good about adhering to a schedule.
  22. When the guys came out, there was general cheer, but most people around me stayed in their seats. A little booing, but not really noticeable on any scale. Great excitement on Braun's triple, but the second inning fans were generally uneasy, and there was a pretty strong amount of booing I felt, not the worst I've seen, but strong. Gagne was booed when he got the first runner on. And a small amount of booing when Hall had that pinch hit pop up. The biggest boos of the night went to Bush's second inning and Mota giving up the homer. All and all, a weird crowd, but less negative than I expected. There was a ton of excitement around the park afterwards though, and hopefully it was the kind of win that will lift the fan's spirits for the final 5 games.
  23. I'm not so sure now that they're only 1 game back in the Wild Card standings. Hopefully people will be smart enough to realize how close we are and give the Brewers their 100% full support for these final six games. I certainly hope you're right Invader3K. I think if they would have come through Saturday in Cincinnati, there would have been a greater sense of optimism out of the fanbase. I'm just not sure how the whole crowd will react, and my faith in them (the fans) isn't that high. If cheers are louder than any booing that will be present, I'll be pretty happy. That being said, I also would expect, even if they don't boo when the team comes out, the fans will have very little patience if we get behind, or continue to play poor in general. Last year's final week was a roller coaster of ups and downs, but the crowd was always excited and energized. Hopefully this week they can be again.
  24. I have tickets for tomorrow, and I was on the fence last week about if I would use them or not, mostly because I fully expected a boofest and didn't want to be a part of it, but I'm energized to go and cheer on the Crew tomorrow. I fully expect the stadium to rain boos when they come out tomorrow, which will be ugly and embarrassing, but I'll be doing what I can to counter it. We're within 1, the Pirates are in town, and we'll misss Zambrano and Harden. I'm liking it.
  25. Zambrano and Harden are slated to go against the Mets, so we won't see their top two, to finish it out. I'll take that blessing.
