  1. Can we just have Counsell bat repeatedly until Harden is at 100?
  2. Alright, but just one. Don't be getting greedy.
  3. Not that we need to turn this into another thread about Cubs fans at MP, but I was at 3 of the 4 games earlier this year, and I'll be at all 3 to finish the season against the Cubs. I understand people's complaints, and I generally agree that we have to show up, even if the atmosphere is less than ideal, to keep the Cubs fans out, but Opening Day is another bag altogether. Its hard enough to go to Opening Day with 10,000 excessively drunk "Brewers" fans, let alone to pile Cubs fans into that mix. As much alcohol that flows on Opening Day, mixed with that intense of a crowd situation, ya, I'll probably avoid that, despite what kind of a man and/or fan someone thinks that makes me.
  4. Hahahaha, well played. Opening Day with the Cubs seems to have disaster written all over it. As someone else stated, it's already rowdy enough with the people who just go to start drinking at 9am, but mix in the Cub fans as well? I think I will be avoiding Opening Day next year for the first time in years. Yuck.
  5. I think it bears being noted that I think the premise of this thread is rather snarky and shouldn't really be here, but if you looked at last night's IGT, you would have had your answer. There was plenty of criticism all around.
  6. He would have been out pretty easy at the plate if he went. Braun thought he would have been going, rounded the bag, got the stop light and they made a close play at third with him trying to get back.
  7. How is Bill debating if Braun should take second? Of course they'll walk Prince then.
  8. That was ugly, but I'll take it. Can Fielder finish it off?
  9. Braun has some good late heroics already in his career at Wrigley. Please?
  10. http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x310/The_Ultimate_Wrestling_Gallery/Ultimate%20Warrior/UltimateWarrior025.jpg
  11. Change the tone. http://img58.imageshack.us/img58/6084/capt7cda18f4bead42d297asu9.jpg http://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/04fYfxEgR89en/610x.jpg http://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/0eTt4wm3RC2Hb/610x.jpg
  12. I have to admit, I am actually looking forward to this game tonight, which I wasn't before yesterday. All the drama has put some fire back into the final two weeks, IMO.
  13. Maybe Cameron is leading off because he's a Cub killer?
  14. Did anyone catch Counsell on Baseball Tonight earlier? It might have been a simple mistake, but when asked about the Brewers chances, I really think he said that we'd have Ben and CC pitching half of our remaining games. The only way that happens is with a 4 man rotation.
  15. Not much here that will surprise most anyone here, but a good article on why the move was justified; Justice in Milwaukee
  16. There is one scheduled for 6:30 tonight. I think the article on brewers.com very clearly shows that this move was not Melvin's move. Link
  17. I agree with this pretty well in full. I'm pretty split about it I suppose, but I agree with all of your points. The timing is brutal, but at this point, what do we have to lose? I didn't have faith in Ned's leadership these final two weeks, but I was trying to hold faith the guys would get hot again. I have to believe there was some behind the scenes events that helped lead to this trigger being pulled with 2 weeks to go. I'll hope for the best. Sveum doesn't really excite me any more than Yost.
  18. If you had been asked this morning what the worst possible thing that could happen today was, I'm not sure you would have even guessed Zambrano tossing a no-no on our field. All week I've thought I'd seen it get as bad as it could get, but I seriously can't imagine something more than this. Simply amazing. The other incredible thing, is this makes 3 Sundays in a row that Milwaukee has had something to do with a no-hitter. 3 weeks ago was Sabathia's near no-no, last Sunday was the near perfect game in Milwaukee, and this Sunday, the Cubs do it on our field.
  19. Well looks like I got 2 hours back to go do something else tonight. 4 runs ought to put this one out of reach. Fun stuff.
  20. You've gotta hand it to Ryan Howard, he's responding in this series better than the entire Brewers team.
  21. I had read Atlanta was being pushed by the Astros as well.
  22. Can someone show me where Corey is blaming the fans for their poor play and using it as an excuse for losing? So many people have repeated that idea in this thread, and that's not what he even said. This is how Corey will get booed when he gets home, because people are making the comments into an "insult" at that fans. Anyone who thinks players need to be more mentally tough if they can't take 20,000 - 30,0000 people (how people keep calling that a "few" is beyond me) booing them, needs to maybe examine their own mental toughness for needing to boo someone for being human. As so many people preach about the players hitting homeruns, act like you've been there before. I wouldn't care so much if it just wasn't so excessive. Strike out? Booed. Coming into picth? Booed. Give up a run, double booed. I actually wondered during the series with the Reds if Gagne was muttering about the fans to himself. He came in, got booed heavily for even coming in, and he gets out the inning with 2ks and he's getting cheered. As he walked off he was muttering to himself, and I wondered if it was about the fans who booed the sight of him, but loved him now that he got 2ks. Some people might see that as "support" but that's a pretty lame understanding of support.
