  1. The ump has decided that Hart's knees go down to his shin so I'm not optomisitc
  2. What I don't get is why not Braddock to begin the inning? you had 2 LHers in a row
  3. If only the Brewers had a left hander to pitch here....
  4. Brining in a LOOGY to pitch to Counsell who is going to bunt, Quade is over his head
  5. The Yankees won't want Fielder. They have to have DH open for ARod.
  6. Casey has three optiosn reamaing and not enough time to refuse. The problem is that Green really shouldn't face LHers so McGehee should be on the team for that.
  7. Its not his fault Nieves is on the roster. Loe pitched well, not his fault Braun cant catch a fly ball. Yes it is his fault. He wants a "defense first catcher" The ball was crushed. Only the wind blowing in kept that in the park. He should not face left handers
  8. I was trying to figure out Bill's inane point. That was either a home run in which case running is meaningless or caught which means he would have to go back to 1B. The big issue is Braun not catching that. Well that and Loe pitching to a left handed hitter again.
  9. It takes real work to turn 2 doubles into no runs
  10. No Brian I find highly believable that Nieves doesn't have an RBI this season
  11. Well his -3 wOBA still beats out Almonte's -26!
  12. How many pick offs have the infielders blown this year?
  13. I really thought maybe Yuni should bunt because either he or Nieves are going to hit into a DP otherwise
  14. The problem of course is they are winning. After all McGehee got his shot because Hall failed but the pressure to makes changes when you're losing is greater.
  15. Yost and Maddux didn't like him
  16. The broadcast team gets passed notes by LaRussa on the plane. They are his mouthpiece.
  17. They are very good estimator's as a whole that will break down for individuals. MLEs in particular hold up very well over all. I guess a lot of this depends on where you see McGehee's true talent level. I am just naturally leery of 27 years olds who come out of nowhere (see Scott Podsednik).
  18. Well no, but McGehee's ZiPs for the rest of the season is .261/.315/.401. Taylor's MLEs is .264/.329/.461
  19. I think you don't realize quite how bad McGehee has been. He's at .225/.284/.321.
  20. A Counsell/Wilson platoon will be better. To go along with terrible offense (and yes, last year was a fluke where Betancourt's HR/FB% was almost twice what it has been recently) Betancourt plays awful defense. Someone hitting like Betancourt but playing average defense (something of the floor of a Counsell/Wilson platoon) would be about a win better over a full season. EDIT:Yeah probably should stop the Yuni talk in this thread
  21. Gindl is 2 years younger, he really isn't in the same boat as say Green and Gamel or even Wheeler who are at the point where they should be dominating to have a chance in teh majors.
