  1. Good thing they went with 11 pitchers vs the Yankees!
  2. He didn't misjudge the ball, he went to cut and the turf came up McGehee for the 2nd time this season doesn't go for the throw
  3. You would think $1 billion could get a decent field
  4. I don't get why when Green exists. Green is hitting .308/.375/.539 and can actually play 3B.
  5. He'll likely get moved or try him out as a 4th OFer if they can't get anything of value for him.
  6. No, we are likely going to lose Mitre for either roster filler or nothing in order to keep Kotsay and pay him his roster bonus.
  7. I just don't see Hart being traded until after 2012 when Marcum and Greinke leave (unless the Brewers are out of it before the deadline next season in which case there will be a big amount of movement). The Brewers don't need the salary room next year with Fielder leaving nad Hart isn't really being pushed by anyone in AAA.
  8. I just checked MLBTR and found nothing that said they were geting offers or anything of the sort, do you have a link? It comes from Tim Dierkes twitterhttp://twitter.com/#!/timdierkes/status/85520156574486528
  9. WPA doesn't take into account defense and is way too context sensitive. For example if Fielder hits a homer up to go up 5 runs in the top of inning he'll get almost no WPA even if teh other team scores 4 in the bottom of the inning. You flip flop half innings and Fielder gets like .25 or so. That not to say it tells us nothign, it does tell us that many of Fielder's hits have been in really high leverage situations.
  10. The Brewers have gotten multiple calls on Mitre according to mlbtraderumors so he's gone. All because we have to make sure to pay Kotsay another $100K.
  11. Let's see if this works: http://www.nytimes.com/20...e-town.html?ref=baseball
  12. No but he isn't getting benched unless his stint on the DL takes the rest of the season. Yeah even the Angels don't need a shortstop and shortstop is the least of the Mariners issues The Brewer's luck is that there are three teams in need of a shortstop, Cincy(assuming they hang in there), SF and Milwaukee and 3 shortstops look to be moved.
  13. Oh. I took the Estrada comment to mean you wanted him to get sent down, not out righting Mitre. And we've got fallbacks. We'll be able to get through a game if we have a short start. Estrada comes in and goes 2-3-4..whatever. We're rested, and we called up the two best players while sending down the worst pitcher. As for James...meh, can't work up any emotion about that whatsoever. So Marcum last 4 innings and Estrada comes in for 3. Next day Gallardo last 3 innings, and then? I'm hardly a fan of Mitre but the Brewers are exposing him and have absolutely no depth for a #6/7 starter.
  14. It was more why move James now. There isn't a 40 man squeeze unless a trade is coming. The point about Marcum is that the bullpen can be made short in a day. Now someone might claim Mitre and the Brewers have no fall back. And the Yankees have been known to give a variety of pitchers short starts so now is when the Brewers drop down to 11 pitchers? I don't want to see Dillard-long reliever.
  15. Really have to save that Estrada option? And what is with the James move? And when Marcum can only go 4 innings then what? Ugh.
  16. Fukuedome is really only a bust because the Cubs have him playing out of position because they haev Soriano in LF.
  17. And the point would be what? Axford has pitched significantly better than Turnbow. Yes its over a small amount of innings but thats still a huge difference between the two.
  18. Loe is 2 years away from free agency.
  19. Offering Betancourt arby would be insane.
  20. No its that Axford is a better pitcher. Turnbow in 2005 had an FIP of 3.20. The last two seasons Axford's FIP has been 2.13 and 2.07.
  21. He just did.No he didn't. He gave 85 good pitches and 17 bad ones.
