  1. Don't know why they just don't keep pounding the outside fastball that the ump is giving them and Axford is actually locating
  2. Who is looking at what McGehee did in the majors in 2007 and 2008? And of course McGehee is only a starting player because Hall had a bad few months while he hit unexpectedly well. McGehee ZiPS® .264/.318/.413 And that's assuming his power returns.
  3. Gamel is only in AAA because he's blocked. McGehee isn't really doing much to block Green.
  4. Nah, he looks like the hitter he was three years ago in 2008. And the hitter he was in 2007. Honestly McGehee was always one of those prime peak guys that you should be careful with.
  5. With McGehee seriously scuffling and his OBP about to fall below .300 it maybe time for a bit of a shakeup. Now Green's overall line in AAA is OK, .277/.360/.466, it obscures the fact that he has a huge platoon split and is killing right handers to a tune of .308/.394/.551 while hitting like Yuni against left handers. So should the Brewers bring him up to split time with McGehee? This would also of course significantly improve the Brewers bench with Green able to cover 2B and 3B if need be and be a true bat off the bench. I really don't know but given the slim pickings in the trade market for 3B is the most likely and cheapest shot the Brewers have.
  6. Plenty of the plate? I swear Bill just guesses or he needs his bifocals changed
  7. Time to bring up Green? You don't like panic moves but McGehee screwed up his swing, Svuem hasn't corrected it and his defense has always been questionable.
  8. Oh and when the Brewers hammer Reds pitching, keep in mind George Webb will give you 6 hamburgers for $5 every time the Brewers score 5 or more runs. So you are really winning!
  9. You should be fine. There is plenty of parking though it's a decent drive from the hotel to the ball park-there is construction along the area. For places to eat, Milwaukee has some fine restaurants of all different types, this guide will help a bit http://www.expressmilwaukee.com/For places more unique to Milwaukee, there is Mader's for German food (and close to your hotel)http://www.madersrestaurant.com/For a bit lighter German food there is the Old German Beer Hall (also close to your hotel) http://www.oldgermanbeerhall.com/The Safe House is often recommend since it is unique http://www.safe-house.com/A bit further away is Three Brothers Restauranthttp://www.yelp.com/biz/three-brothers-bar-and-restaurant-milwaukee You are coming in the middle of the music festival Summerfest http://www.summerfest.com so you may want to check that out by the lakeThe Milwaukee Art Museum is wonderful in wonderful buildings right on the lake http://www.mam.org/The Zoo is top notch though it can get expensive especially if you pay for parking http://www.milwaukeezoo.org/Closer to miller park there is the Potowatomi Casinohttp://www.paysbig.com/And the Harley Museum http://www.harley-davidson.com/wcm/Content/Pages/HD_Museum/Museum.jspThere is the Miller Brewery Tour http://www.millercoors.com/milwaukee-brewery-tour.aspxAnd a Sprecher Brewery tour http://www.sprecherbrewery.com/tours.php And since you are right there you'll want to stop at the Usinger's store on Old World 3rd street http://www.yelp.com/biz/usingers-milwaukee Hopefully this gives you some ideas. If you have other questions or more specific things you would want to do just ask Oh yeah, many outside of Wisconsin do not know this but carry ins are allowed at Miller Park if they follow the following rules:http://milwaukee.brewers.mlb.com/mil/ballpark/information/index.jsp?content=security
  10. Hey just because Kotsay actually makes a perfect throw and Nieves whiffs on it...
  11. Braddock and Saito and Kinzler and Stetter and Parra The Brewers have plenty of arms getting healthy that give options. Especially since its not like they pen has been covering a huge amount of innings.
  12. And the only pitcher the Brewers did hit on, Gallardo, was drafted against Jack's wishes.
  13. Usually its money but it could be trading the Brewers a player they were going to release
  14. Almost all of that was at low levels. His AA numbers were .319/.377/.448. And then at AAA .292/.356/.462. Just not good enough and not enough power.
  15. Given there was talk of giving Almonte a coaching job in the system before the season started I expect he'll be back. Or he might retire and take that position.
  16. My guess is Russ was being a bit imprecise. I think he means the median manager sucks and is below average because they are a few standouts.
  17. Yes all three left handed relievers are currently injured. However Loe is terrible against left handers and Axford can go more than 1 inning. McGehee has tons more power than Betancourt, McGehee's career ISO is 170. Betancourt is 120. If you think this season is really important, Betancourt is one of the worst hitters in the league so far. Both Betancourt and Counsell are bad hitters, neither McGehee or Kotsay are world beaters but they are better hitters. Heck Carlos Gomez is a better hitter. Roenicke is the one who got the bench he wanted.
  18. Votto has a better average against lefties. I would have been more concerned with neutralizing Votto's power.Of course over his career his BA is 30 points less vs LHers than vs RHers
  19. He is this year. That's 50+ odd PAs. For his career he's still good against a typical LHer but much better vs RHers (about 100 points for OPS). The bigger issues is that Loe shouldn't pitch to LHers.
  20. It is his 300th save so it is kind of a big deal. No idea why you let Counsell hit there
  21. Axford should have been ready for Votto and Bruce no matter what the inning.
  22. Right importance in avoiding outs, not wOBA.
