  1. No it was mentioned before that he's the best reserve OFer. Of course that is like saying Soto is my favorite Cub.
  2. Counsell is 41 and the biggest hole the team has is short stop. The contest should be between Kotsay and Almonte ;of course Almonte's skills show up on the diamond where Kotsay is a real great guy
  3. Reed in on a minor league deal and Boggs is out of options but it really doesn't matter unless the name is Kotsay it won't change much since the other one would then be gone when Hart returns.
  4. Reed's spring training line in 2009:.422/.493/.594. His season with the Mets: .242/.301/.304 Reed's spring training line in 2010: .431/.463/.490. His combined total between Charlotte and Las Vegas:.279/.342/.412. Reed this year in spring training: .379/.391/.515 Going by Reed's numbers this spring and what he turned those spring numbers into in the past he should be cut
  5. I'd say Weeks is average so its only 5 below average defenders!
  6. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that Millwood was not going to sign a $900K contract to be a RP for the Brewers.I going out on alimb and say he'd take a 25 man spot over a minor league deal at the salary he's getting right now.
  7. This gives the Brewers a decent option to replace Gomez but his value is with his glove and so needs to be in the field almost every day to have real worth. He's better on the bench than the current OF backups obviously.
  8. The Yankees just signed Millwood to a minor league contract and he's better than Mitre
  9. I can' t see the Brewers only going with 12 pitchers and carrying 6 OFers (and only one real back up infielder in Counsell)
  10. the keyboard short cut ctrl+b still works to open the side panel
  11. Yeah I don't know how he'll be able to throw. Even mild cases usually include basically putting a person into bed for a week. Severe cases mean IV hookups and being unable to do anything for months.
  12. No he hasn't, in 2009 he was 0.3 and last year he was 0.0. The only difference between him and Estrada is salary.
  13. You do realize this means that there is no back up plan if Carlos Gomez continues being Carlos Gomez?
  14. Cameron was at 4.2. Gomez if lucky is a 2 win player.
  15. So we traded the Brewers only legitimate 4th OFer for a 6th starter that is maybe 3 runs better than Estrada over a season
  16. And when he hits .240 or .250?
  17. Yeah I'd assuem teh Brewers will keep Rosario on the 40 man at this point since they should have 2 openings soon anyway (Nieves and Boggs/Cruz)
  18. You're having speed problems with FF4? Are all your plugins up to date? Because 4 is so much faster than 3.6 for me, its at the level of Chrome.
  19. The only hope we have is that it will cost almost as much to keep Kotsay for an entire season given his contract incentives as it would to keep a better player making minimum.
  20. I'm not saying its right, I'm saying no one will look twice at it. Its anotehr thign peopel don't seem to understand. While athletes are basically committed to a school and ahev to give up a year to go somewhere else that same school can drop them for any number of reasons.
  21. That is very common. Basically schools can drop most scholarships at will. Whenever a new coach comes in to a rebuilding program it tends to happen to almost all upperclassmen. It just another way in which college sports sucks.
  22. I don't know why Kotsay would start over Dickerson unless there is a LH pitcher on the mound. Then again I don't know why Kotsay is taking a roster space away from another player and costing the Brewers more with each at bat.
  23. I have no clue how you can have both Almonte and Kotsay on the roster. Neither can play anywhere besides 1B, the one position whose starter likely will play 155+ games there.
  24. Almonte mostly DH'd last season (he also mostly DH'd in 2009). Of the 110 games he played last year, he was in the field for 36 at most. http://www.baseball-refer...ayer.cgi?id=almont001eri
