  1. But that is a worse bat. Yes if they could get Ichiro he'd be a better candidate, or if you think Gardner is for real. But otherwise you'll find someone with a similar ISO to Weeks if you want a similar OBP.
  2. So he traded one top prospect, a 29 year old reliever, and a middling starting prospect for a top fight catcher in his mid 20s? People always point out that trade but it relies on Joe Nathan becoming a dominating closer at age 29and keeping that up in his 30s and Pierzynski being hated in the clubhouse in San Francisco. As a talent deal it wasn't lopsided at the time. Now Villaneuva for Franklin, that giving up something for Wayne Franklin.
  3. How is Weeks miscast? I don't get this idea that the Brewers need to find a worse hitter in order for Weeks to be out in a position where his bat is less valuable.
  4. Farrias is still in ARZ rehabbing If Weeks is dealt its likely Inglett full time.
  5. Can'tr believe they gave up Smoak. Fielder to Texas has just become viable again.
  6. Because they don't want to deal with moving him in the offseason.
  7. Every single player gets rumored about ending up in New York at some point in time. I'm sure there are rumors in some part of the New York press about Fielder and Hart ending up there despite having no place to really play.
  8. Really the biggest loss of recent vintage is Gwynn if you believe UZR in Petco (and I have serious reservations with it in the OF there, somehow that happens to be the only place Mike Cameron couldn't field)
  9. from playing the console demo, its fairly similar just slightly streamlined. The game moves faster which isn't necessarily a great thing. The worlds tend to be smaller and you need fewer workers. But I think its very similar to regular (post Civ 3) Civilization
  10. Well except for having to setup and maintain a wireless network.
  11. Actually this has been worked out--Favre is actually signing a one day deal to retire as Geoff Jenkins and Geoff Jenkins in 2 years will sign a one year deal to retire as a Favre in Green Bay. This keeps Ted Thompson and Favre from ever having to be in the same room ever again.
  12. One thing I always stress, if getting a portable computer make sure they enjoy typing on it. And consider paying the $10-20 and getting a cordless mouse to go with it.
  13. The Brewers have the number 1 offense in the NL when you take park effects into account (basically they and Cincy are right at the top). So yes if they had even the mediocre pitching Cicny has gotten they'd be right there.
  14. This has nothing to do with Cruz and everything to do with Escobar. Basically all Cruz has shown is putting him in won't be any worse than Escoabr and liekyl somewhat better if he's platooned with Counsell. The big issue is to get Escobar right somehow.
  15. DeLaRosa wasn't going to be on the Brewers the following season. He wasn't good enough. The guy couldn't hold on with KC.
  16. I'm insulted that you would think the people who write Bleacher Report are like me
  17. Or he has the personality that some managers equate with "not caring" See Dunn, Adam.
  18. Yep, Gomez has negative vale for the Mariners. I could see the Brewers make a run at Lee in the offseason since they have so much money coming off and Attanasio was talking about having a similar payroll level next year but again that's the offseason.
  19. For Braun it depends what teh All Star games means. If its for the proven best players in the game, Braun deserves to go. If its for teh players who ahd a good 3 montsh to begin the year, then he really doesn't. And in either case that doesn't include Ryan Howard....
  20. I've posted before but the whole idea comes down to Gamel. And that seems to be a unique to Gamel thing. Not saying they handled it well I'm saying it wasn't because he was a young player.
  21. The voters realized the game isn't being played in Colorado. Olivo outside of Denver: .215/.318/.344
  22. BTW last day of the Steam sale. Like all of CIV IV stuff for $10
  23. Para wasn't having a great game. Which is why it was stupid to send a struggling pitcher out there when he ahd thrown 97 pitches already. What did they expect was going to happen? Guess they had to save Capuano....
  24. Nothing like running out your ace when hurt for a game in the beginning of July
