  1. Except you aren't flipping Fielder for major league ready pitcher. Fielder could bring a guy who might be ready2nd half of next season to start pitchign in teh majors but will liekyl take that half a season to be decent.
  2. Narveson's problem is very simple-FIP vs LHers, 2.01, vs RHers 5.34. People questioned if he has the suff to get RHers out on a consistent basis.
  3. Until this happens, I'd remain calm. This might just be put out there to calm Bush down or to remove Narveson if he still can't get RHers out.
  4. You may have thought Parra pitched really well last night and then got tired as a guy who only recently returned to starting got over 80 pitches. Well Witrado will set you straight and tell you that Parra pitched like normal and lost "focus" and had to be bailed out: http://www.jsonline.com/sports/brewers/95734969.html
  5. If they aren't going for it next year, Wolf has to be traded.
  6. The Nats shouldn't be buyers, not that will stop them. But they aren't good enough to compete in the NL East, they have a negative run differential. They should be shopping Dunn not trying to plug holes.
  7. So the Brewers lost their only real RH bench bat option to keep Suppan around?
  8. Well no, but none of the guys who could be ready next year are very exciting save maybe Conger but the Brewers really don't need to further log jam the catcher situation. Bourjos is interesting but CF is another area where the Brewers don't really need to jam more players. Reckling is struggling in AAA and while young doesn't really look to be a top line guy. You aren't very likely to get a guy that can step in net year if Fielder gets traded and be expected to have any type of upside. That ship sailed when Ike Davis performed for the Mets.
  9. I really wonder if Hardy has been having problems. Keep in mind his brother suffered from deabilitating depression.
  10. Willing to part with? Who knows, Lee and Konerko are just for this season so likely they don't want to give up much. For pitching you have Garrett Richards who seems to have the best stuff but he's a 22 year old A baller and Trout is tearing up A ball pitching as a 19 year old but is also 19 and years away most likely.
  11. Both Chicago teams and the Red Sox won't really have openings until the offseason. I don't see a great in season deal presenting itself. Hart likely has a higher in season trade value since he'll cost less and their are more teams scrambling for a corner OFer vs a 1B.
  12. Sorry, but that's impossible, you do realize that the league is hitting .385 against him, don't you? I'm starting to think that most high-school pitchers could put up better numbers than Soup. I'd be willing to do a deal where the Brewers dump Suppan on the Mets, and give them a million or two on salary relief for Perez next year. Perhaps Mark A. can negotiate something in the deal where the Mets are forced to give Soup a 'chance' to save face, before they do the sensible thing and cut him.You do realize that Perez walks over 7 per 9?
  13. Perez is worse than Suppan. Everybody complains about not cutting Suppan this season but they then want to add another pitcher for another year thats even worse?
  14. So how well does Kottaras have to hit to be permanently moved from #8? I also hate catchers hitting 8th because I don't want the pitcher bunting over a slow runner.
  15. Really what Weeks does is much more important to the Brewers next year than what Fielder does. Unlike Fielder, you can't guarantee decent draft pick compensation for Weeks and his injury issues means holding on to him without a contract extension is very risky. If Weeks isn't interested in an extension he has to be moved which basically makes next years team without Fielder and Weeks a .500 team at best which means you have to tear everything down. If Weeks does sign a long term contract you can make the case for one last run with Fielder and Hart next season depending on how the team plays going forward.
  16. And the Brewers need another catcher why?
  17. The Tigers are DFAing Willis to free up a roster spot, they won't want Suppan. You can do a Suppan+ for Willis but not sure I'd give anything of value for a guy you coudl easily end up releasing in 3 weeks.
  18. And McGehee has a chance of being valuable and cheap in 2-3 years. You can only make so many trades and if the Brewers do tear it down (the rest of this season will likely decide) you'll have Fielder, Hart, Weeks, Coffey, Hawkins and Wolf all out there. The Brewers' payroll next season could easily be under $30m but that's another topic.
  19. Only during the time with the club. There is a bump if they are put on the 40 man and left there.
  20. But he's been moved to the OF in AAA and so he's being "blocked" by Rick Ankiel, Scott Podsednik, and Willie Bloomquist. Fangraphs had a post about it by Jack Moore, the guy from disciplesofuecker: http://www.fangraphs.com/...spect-watch-alex-gordon/
  21. Cruz would not be with the Brewers if he wasn't traded to the Rangers, he would have been dumped for less or picked up by someone after he was DFA'd but before he stunk for a year in the majors. DeLaRosa wasn't going to make the team the next season.
  22. Its so hard to even know what the Royals are doing. Gordon isn't a good 3B defensively, but he isn't McGehee either. But why he hasn't replaced the crap in the KC outfield right now is unknown. Are they waiting for a DeJesus trade to bring him up?
  23. I think Hart was fairly upset about not starting opening day and then being kicked off the All-Star ballot meant it looked like he wasn't a starter. And no, opening day lineups aren't that important for it, if Pujols jammed his hand in spring training and missed the first game do you think he would be left off the ballot?
