  1. Braun July 27, 2007: .348/.393/.665 Braun July 27, 2008: .303/.341/.598 I believe watching Braun fall off is obviously playing with his head.
  2. Yes the Sox get tired of Manny but they can't replace him. Unless they take on the even worse contract of Carlos Lee not sure how they think they can even attempt to move him.
  3. The difference between Suppan and McClung isn't great but it leans to Suppan. And if Suppan gets hot over the next month there's a chance you can trade him over the winter. So you might as well pitch him and hope.
  4. He's being allowed to pitch so he could get the win-Yost manages to stats all the time
  5. Hard to be the unsung hero when you are constantly called great by the broadcast team every single game.
  6. Anderson's problem is that he feels like he has to talk the entire time. Which is likely more a production decision but its annoying. Its baseball, there will be dead times. Even Tim McCarver can shut up for a few pitches.
  7. That's how fools play the market. Charting recent trends as if they will continue forever is how you fuel bubbles like the housing one.
  8. Parra had terrible control problems all night and so you decide to push it...
  9. Penny is not leaving LA as a free agent-his option is only like $8m with a $2m buyout, there is no way LA doesn't pick it up. Lowe is old. Suppan and his VORP of 2.7 is right in line with predictions. He's just above replacement level right now and is predicted to get worse. If you can, you trade him and worry about finding a #5/6 starter somewhere else.
  10. Or use an in house option and get better results
  11. Gagne had some control problems early in the year. Hopefully the Brain Trust realizes that his lack of velocity is compounded by working too much and he doesn't get assigned the "8th inning guy" role and ends up pitching 2,3 days in a row. No reason Riske can't pitch some 8th innings or have Shouse matchup or use Villaneuva if need be. Keep Gagne as fresh as possible.
  12. I'm pretty sure the last at bat could be the 8th at home if the Brewers take the lead then-its BA's way of juicing things more than they need to be and confusing everybody who thinks he's talking about walk off wins.
  13. I think they'd all consist of A-Ram, Man-Ram, and Mel Hall. Nope, all 10 are Sammy Sosa hopping down to 1B
  14. Is Branyan the only true backup 1B now? Yes Rviera could if eveyone gets whopping cough, but Fielder should probably have been pinch ran for there and could anyone have filled in at 1B?
  15. Sheets-cursed never to win more than 12 games
  16. Unless that deal is for Jeff Suppan, no thank you. The Brewers already owe one aging mediocre pitcher 8 figures next year, adding a second one is lunacy.
  17. The PS2 is going to have a following for a while, the problem being that companies are going to devote less and less resources to PS2 versions. You might be better off trying something on the PSP
  18. Both Mastercraft and Bielinski are huge builders. Its nice in teh sense that you'd think they are stable, but in reality Bielinski has been in serious financial strains since a CEO of theirs basically stole a bunch of money. Now I may some what biased against Bielinski since my mother grew up near the family and has told a few stories, but in general they tend to be ok. I think Mastercraft is slightly better but it really depends on what you're looking for. Stay away from Karek, you can always point out the Karek home because it always looks like crap. You may want to look into Brookstone, they are premoded though. I assume given those choices you are looking for a smaller home, where exactly are you thinking of building? Bellman for example doesn't do much in the Fox Valley that I'm aware of. One thing to keep in mind is Bielinski models are all fully upgraded and don't in most ways represent the base price you get quoted. Especially now don't be afraid to approach smaller custom builders, even though their model homes may be 3500 sq ft, they'll build smaller right now. If Russ wants to IM me with a little bit more specific info I may be able to help a bit more
  19. Nothing to complain about, but at the same time nothing really to be happy about.
  20. This and the Guzman extension on the same day!
  21. Mota's career splits are really close that its hard to say its outside of normal platoon advantage, a .678 OPS vs .733 OPS is just not that big
  22. All of BP is free this week so you can have fun looking at Ryan Braun's projections! Or whimper at Suppan's projections.
