  1. Gwynn isn't even Craig Counsell.
  2. He can only have his salary decreased by 20%, something that almost never happens. In general the best a team can hope for is to maintain his current salary and not see any increase. Kendall is six years younger.
  3. Yes you can fake time stamps, but Buster "Rewrite the AP story" Olney has been out of the loop for basically everything this year.
  4. How can he decline arby? He's making $13m this year with a decent shot at $15m in arby and likely no less that $12m. If the Yankees wish to take that chance let them.
  5. Because a good team wouldn't trust Cruz with a job. Funny how you think Brad Nelson is near worthless while Jose Cruz should be given a starting job.

  14. Larid BABIP is .369 with a LD% of 19.4 meaning his BABIP is about 69 point too high based upon how he's hit.
  15. Except hitting has everything to do with it-Willy Tavarez has been great yet no GG becasue he can't hit
  16. Actually I think the announcers do it because Yost does it, that's where its really coming from. I'm not sure if he ever calls a player by his given name.
  17. Until he grows the porn stache I refuse to call him Braunie
  18. My guess is that because the Brewers were interested before they got pulled up again. Does anyone really think Kendall is going to catch significantly less game next year? Its just not worth it.
  19. And where exactly would this hitter play?
  20. VORP is just a quick metric, Berkman has just been better than everyone but a fair share.
  21. A quick VORP rundown can put this in some perspective: Berkman 65.0 Pujols 56.6 C. Jones 55.5 H. Ramirez 55.0 Holliday 48.0 Reyes 45.3 McCann 41.2 Utley 40.7 Braun 40.6 Wright 39.2 Burrell 39.1 Uggla 36.3 Berkman has lapped everyone so far.
  22. Nope that was by the book, tie game in 9th means the closer at home since you can never get a save
  23. No he isn't the MVP. If he wins the MVP assuming things stay the current way its just a sad statement about baseball writers.
  24. People don't know what stepping it up would actually look like. Cameron hit a minislump-0-7 over the last two game that brought him down from an 800 OPS on the season. Meaning he's still right where most expected him to be, but his average is low so he must suck.
  25. Week's July- .271/.366/.471 Cameron's July .243/.356/.473 Hart's July .278/.316/.467 Jason Kendall's July .187/.291/.253 I think people tend to be looking in the wrong place
