  1. The biggest problem is they borrowed the NBC Olympic telecast idea--sports fans will watch anyway how can we get everyone else? So instead of narrowcasting, albeit to a huge segment, they wanted to be a destination for everyone. So you get gossip shows, movies, countdown lists meant to snare channel surfers, and the fake argument shows that took sports reporters (which died when the reporters decided to just regurgitate their columns/radio pieces) and dumbed it down.
  2. Bush's 2007 FIP 4.53 Villanueva's 2007 FIP 4.76 I think people forget that Bush was pretty good back in 2006.
  3. Its that time again to sign two years under penalty of great fees with Verizon. Anyone have any phone recommendations? Right now I can get teh Chocolate for free online, anyone have any experience? I heard that originally the RAZR keypads wore out, that fixed?
  4. Its getting confused with the previous rebate which was just an advance on future refunds
  5. If you like role playing games, The Witcher.
  6. For flat pieces of meat (save maybe chicken, but usually bone in breasts) I never use a thermometer. The poke test tends to work the best. So feel your meat!
  7. Yep, Estrada was perona non gratta for three previous teams before the Brewers got him.
  8. Again pitchers are huge injury risks. Anyone of them could easily miss a full season and therefore won't be one of the most valuable players over the next five seasons.
  9. Do all moves need to take into account a couple of April games? It's really not going to matter after McClung is put on waivers in April. Well given that April is when you tend to have the most bad weather, yes. Especially games against the Cubs which, yes are more important. And its no sure thing McClung will be gone in 2 weeks.
  10. Given that Bush projects better than Suppan and about the same as Villanueva not sure why people want to take a guy who can give 200 innings and put him in long relief.
  11. How are the Brewers a better team? Davis at least would have brought more draft picks. Eveland would have provided great depth at AAA. And thats is they weren't traded for players that would have provided value. The Brewers gave up the most talented player and the player with the greatest upside. Those trades are almost always terrible ideas.
  12. A 3 am game means they can wake up and see the end of it. Please explain how thats worse that a 1 pm start in Boston to start the season where the game starts at 10 am local time while everyone is at work and you can't see any of it. Or even a 7 pm Boston start time which means people might get home in time to catch the last two innings.
  13. The Batman Lego Video game looks to be better than the Indy Lego Video game right now. Oh wait, you said movies...
  14. Nope Bush needs to stay in the rotation because they need his innings. And Vargas is still better than McClung if they need three innings. I just really hope that we don't get back to back weather delays in Chicago.
  15. Wow that Houston under looks tasty.
  16. Pitchers got ranked lower because of injury risk
  17. Compared to that rape job when they traded Liriano, Nathan, and Bonsor for a decent catcher, the Villanueva trade has to look like a not so bad trade. The difference there was Pierzynski looked like an .300 hitting catcher, Wayne Franklin looked like Wayne Franklin
  18. Thing is the Brewers already have Narveson to be a long reliever (or even Choate when he gets healthy). Its why are they counting on McClung to provide long relief when there is amble proof that he could kill a pen if called upon?
  19. They have no catching depth without Captain Lou. Rivera is unlikely to draw any interest again and Munson not much more. They'll send somebody down.
  20. This was a cost cutting move. I guess the hope will be that Yo will back by the time they really need a 5th starter so they can cover a weather delay in Chicago without running McClung out there.
  21. The problem with that is 170 innings it too many. Parra is more in line for 150 than 170.
  22. Yep its worrisome, especially with Gwynn batting second. We're likely to see a bunch of hit an runs. Hopefully when Cameron comes back his reputation for King will kill that. Of course the fact that Gwynn Ks a lot will be ignored.
  23. How many times must the name McClung be brought up? Can't wait until Suppan is scheduled to start and the Chicago game gets delayed 3 hours and McClung gets to take the mound.
  24. I highly doubt Patterson is any shape to offer anything this year. Maybe August at the earliest.
  25. I doubt it, this would have been the first time he would have to had been waived. My guess his contract gave the Brewers an out, but we'll hopefully see.
