  1. I think the problem here is you are giving too many blown saves to pitcher B. BP gives a relievers wins over replacement, basically looking at the situation a reliever comes into and its relative stress. Putz unsurpsingly lead the league at 7.15, Cordero was 23 at 3.22. Turnbow was number 40 at 2.75. Link:http://baseballprospectus.com/statistics/sortable/index.php?cid=204021
  2. Read that carefully: "the package could include." We might just have a writer doing some private speculation here.
  3. Like say Captain Lou?
  4. Sabathia had the better season. A nice look at the AL VORP top 5: 1)Sabathia 65.2 2) Carmona 64.0 (criminally underrated) 3) Lackey 60.7 4) Beckett 58.6 5) Santana 57.7
  5. I never understood why Garner platooned Scott to begin with. Lane was washed up and the Astros needed to see what Scott could do. Then again I never understood why Lane wasn't nontendered last year.
  6. The Brewers could sign me for league minimum put me on the 60 day DL and still keep JJ and it would be just as good! DM get on it!
  7. I really don't understand Silver's reasoning (Mass has an incorrect link, since fixed, thanks). Yes Bourn and Costanzo are cheap for years but they also are unlikely to be that good. Meaning you'd always be looking to replace them. Bourn is going to give you average CF play and many think Costanzo is going to struggle to have any type of career. And still Houston has no pitching.
  8. Not sure how good a prospect Costanzo is. 23 in AA is hardly great and while he hit .270/.368/490 he had 157 strike outs in 137 games.
  9. If they don't want Gwynn they can keep Winn. Not sure why you think an aging mediocre player set to earn decent money will suddenly bring in great talent, especially considering he has a limited no trade clause.
  10. This seems much more in the line of TGJ for Winn. Compare what the Brewers got for a cheap in his prime Overbay to what people are saying to give up for an old expensive Winn.
  11. Depending of how Graffanino likesl Milwaukee he might actually sign a minor league deal with Milwaukee (assuming he wants to try to come back). But he won't be offered arby because even if he was, no one is going to sign him. Last I saw his return was June at the earliest and August is more likely.

  13. Not since Jeff "I was washing my truck, honest!" Kent
  14. Last I heard was he had to rehab until June, so the chances the Brewers offer him arby of someone signing him right away are next to nil.

  16. Well given recent developments if anyone has a demonoid invite I'd love to have one
  17. He has a club option for $2.85 million for 2008, that could be picked up and traded. I hate losing CV but you'd have to do this deal. You'd still have Sheets, Gallardo, Parra, Bush, Suppan and Capuano who could start but to add two good bullpen arms on top of getting Crawford? Just too good to pass up. Edit: Forgot about Buck too, good power, would allow us to trade Estrada if they wanted, how's his defense? The option actually became a player option with 60 appearances (he had 65). Don't see any reason for him to pick it up when coming off a career year which allows him to get a multiple year contract from someone.
  18. Well everyone has been Yosted at least once.
  19. So apparently its Prince's fault that Ryan Braun was batting ahead of him driving in runs and that Yost was foolish enough to keep batting Hardy 2nd.
  20. I'd take Kelly Johnson over Kinsler. Aaron Hill is also very close.
  21. Maybe the voting public realizes that RBIs are the worst measure of a player possible?
  22. Why are you giving up anything remotely valuable for an overpaid corner outfielder? Bush at $2.5 million and under control for two more years >>>> than 1 year of Abreu at $16 million.
  23. Comcsat has already started slwoing down torrent traffic by setting up dummy accoutns to sink bandwith.
  24. Yes if Prince was as lucky as Hawpe the Brewers might have won more games. Is that really something to care about though?
  25. I doubt the Yankees take Rivera back. He's old and want a raise or at least the same salary. 2 years/18 million for a 38 year old isn't a great move.
