Counsell should lead off. Followed by Grieve, Hall(to break up LH), Overbay, Jenkins, Branyan, Catcher du jour, Podsednik. Hopefully Podsednik will be slightly pitched around in the 8th spot so he can start getting on base again.
I was really hoping Yost would be smart and hit Helms for Jenkins where it would make sense. But Grieve might have gotten another AB then and we couldn't have that.
Ben Grieve has been doing too well lately. If he continued to play so well Yost would be forced to sit Clark. And I thought Overbay was getting a day off?
Look on the bright side! Jeff Bennett may have destroyed any trade value for Burba! Oh wait, that isn't very good... Too bad the inning didn't go a bit longer, I'm sure he could have gotten the 4 WPs in there
Carlos Beltran is only hitting 250--he sucks. Obviously Podsendik is better since he has a higher average, has hit as many home runs and has more RBIs.
If you want to see how powerless this teams is, just look at the players' IsoP. Over 200 is considered a decent power hitter. Currently no one is over that, with Overbay at 194. Jenkin is at 185 which would have some meaning if he wasn't hitting 247. After Jenkins comes Ginter at 171. But to get a true feel of how powerless this team is, look at the hitters that have IsoP below 100. Clark currenty is just above it at 102. Below it are Helms, Counsell, and Bennett.
A left handed pitcher takes Grieve out of the lineup and makes Jenkins flail helplessly. Podsednik has historically done slightly worse against lefties, but not by a great deal. Counsell is pretty much unaffected. Overbay has done slightly worse against leftis, but seeing he is the only offense the Brewers have, any reduction isn't good.
The Brewers are so lefty hitting dependent that any decent lefty will shut them down. Its why the Cubs can be a challenge when they go to Mercker (not however Remlinger who is pretty much done).
