  1. 3 left handers in a row. That's a patented Yostian move.
  2. In what sense is Betemit a proven commodity? I mean he's proven to be a poor fielder, but the guy has been a utility player for a decade. Sure he ahd a nice year last year, but he was god awful in 2009 in MLB and AAA.
  3. Yeah all that was left was Axford! And well Rodriquez. And Saito. Also amazing how Hawkins giving up 2 singles is being "hit around" when with a faster throw from Wilson he gets a DP and likely stays in the game.
  4. Jackson isn't going to come cheap and I doubt the Brewers can win a bidding war for him. They might have also been there for Teahen (hopefully not but I could see it).
  5. You can't compare lines today with Southern League hitting lines from the early 2000s. Its an entirely different place. That's how you get guys putting up monster line in Huntsville and doing very little later on.
  6. Because he isn't. Loe kills RHers. He has a K/BB ratio of 5.75 vs RHers. Its 1.63 vs LHers. He's just as good as Axford, Rodriquez and Saito vs RHers.
  7. Bedard has #1 stuff when healthy, I see no way the Brewers even have shot at him.
  8. Yea a win! Boo we'll likely get stuck with this bad lineup.
  9. Well that's because McGehee was running. He really didn't get a lot on the throw. Still a nice play but someone with decent speed and its at least close.
  10. In what universe are the Brewers below average in CF?
  11. He has negative value to other teams. And the Cubs might not get anything for him depending on the option. All the Cubs can hope for is salary relief and a grade C at best prospect unless they fool someone. Ramirez is a $8-10m player about to get $16m.
  12. Those numbers are all base on defense. They are 6th in FIP and 4th in xFIP. They aren't in the league of the Phllies, Braves or the Giants but match up fine with the Cardinals.
  13. So we give up better talent? Ramirez has negative value because whoever gets him likely has to pick up his terrible option. So his overall value is like -$5m to -$7m. I don't see how the Cubs get anything for him.
  14. How is the buyout saved? He needs to be bought out before he can be offered arby (if he can be offered arby after being bought out, that depends on the contract I think). The reason why there might not be that much risk is that even if he accepts arby there should still be a team out there willing to take him on for a one year deal at $10m or so. The Brewers won't get much back but won't lose much.
  15. Wily Mo Pena
  16. Pena was DFA'd. Rather have him.
  17. Well he was late on pulling it, no wonder he was upset!
  18. Given that Saito is arguably a better pitcher, yes you can have someone else close.
  19. If Casey really thought that was a ball he has some issues that need serious work
  20. One measure would be Loe's WPA of -1.34. Basically you can blame Loe (and RRR) for about 1.34 loses. Estrada is at -1.30. Yuni is at a mind blowing -2.11 (and this is just his bat!). There is just no way to parse things that doesn't make Yuni the biggest issue on the team.
  21. Braun is tons worse defensively than McGehee. Braun is arguably the worst 3B to ever play significant innings. And that's before we deal with the fact Beltran makes 18.5m and has a full no trade clause.
  22. If they are so easy to find what don't the Brewers have any at any level?
  23. The Orioles are a terrible team in the most brutal division of all of sports. They aren't going anywhere soon.
