  1. Stick with me on this, but how about Brewers pitchers use torpedo balls to counter?
  2. To be fair, the Brewers have an entire starting rotation on the IL.
  3. I'm going to sue the home plate umpire.
  4. Wrong thread
  5. Freddy looks totally fine. Looked great in the 3rd. Judge had no idea how to approach that at-bat. He gave up two long pop-ups for homers.
  6. Well, got the early homer out of the way...early.
  7. I'm going to be at the cardiologist when the game starts, which I suppose is appropriate.
  8. Reminder to T-Mobile customers that you can get the season of MLB.tv for free. Promo starts today and goes for a week.

  10. Haven't read the thread. I would sell/auction the card in a heartbeat. Assuming I could get tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands, or even a million for it, there is no gift package a team could give me that would keep me from cashing in. I can happily subscribe to MLB.tv and use the remaining money to make a big difference in my life.
  11. I'm pretty sure the off-color stuff was just to get a rise out of Norm and Artie since they were his buddies. It's not like he normally did that. He said in an interview with Bob Costas that sometimes if a guest was in the booth, he'd say weird things while using the cough button (not necessarily R-rated, just inappropriate for air) just to make them think he was actually saying them on air.
  12. Yeah, this is the fourth celebrity whose death has really, truly saddened me. The others: John Candy, Walter Payton, and Mister Rogers.
  13. Uke's family said he had been battling cancer since 2023. I think that's why Yelich was so emotional talking about him after the playoff loss. He knew this was the last chance.
  14. This one really hurts.
  15. Just so we're clear, it's not a ghost runner. The runner physically exists.

  17. I only read a little of this thread, but my thoughts are that the Brewers have a very bright future, so I'm looking forward to that. And while I am obviously disappointed with the Game 3 loss, it's not because I now think "we're never going to win a World Series in my lifetime." I didn't think we were going to do it this year, even after such a great regular season. I did not think we'd beat the Phillies in the NLDS and I did not think that if we did, we'd beat the Dodgers or Padres. So I wasn't upset that our chances at a WS title were gone. I was sad that we didn't get to enjoy the thrill of a series victory and doubly sad that it was snatched away at the last second. And I was sad that we didn't get to enjoy the excitement and hope during the next series, even if it ended in a loss. A lot of times, the thing I hate the most about my teams losing in the playoffs is that the fun is over. It's not that they didn't win a championship, it's that now I don't get to enjoy the games until the next time around.
