I have a sense that the question you're really asking is whether the unheralded players and rookies will start playing like unheralded players and rookies.
I wanted him to throw more "off speed" stuff so that the hitters couldn't time his fastball as well, but I read that Miz was going in there to pretty much just throw gas. I would've loved to see him strike some guys out, but no runs and just a single was prettay, prettay good.
He looked like he was having so much fun, too.
ESPN has three Brewers in the top 4 for NL Rookie of the Year based on their "AXE" rating: Durbin (1st), Patrick (2nd and he's in AAA!), Collins (4th).
And, of course, there's Miz, who hasn't played enough to get ranked yet.
It's called improvement? Is it cherry picking to celebrate how Yelich has been hitting lately after his awful start?
Extreme example, but how about this: what if a guy had 100 AB each month April-July and got zero hits. Batted .000. He's still somehow in the lineup, though, and in August has another 100 AB and gets a hit every single time. Would you want to bench him for the playoff push in September even though he's only hitting .200?
