  1. I should add that I rewatched the play and paused it a few times. Maybe the catcher was ok because he caught the ball before Mitchell made contact with him. I don't know.
  2. I have the rule book up and I don't see anything about how fast the play developed in regards to the catcher blocking the plate. The closest thing I can find is: "....if the catcher blocks the pathway of the runner in a legitimate attempt to field the throw (e.g., in reaction to the direction, trajectory or the hop of the incoming throw, or in reaction to a throw that originates from a pitcher or drawn-in infielder)" Only thing that might apply there is if it was a throw from a drawn-in infielder, but a) I don't think the 1B was drawn in, and b) the throw was coming from the first base side, anyway.
  3. I mean, if "New York" says, "well, we don't know if maybe his foot was above home plate," what are we even doing here
  4. Sure, yeah, whatever. Don't believe your eyes that he was obviously safe. jfc
  5. We always hope a rookie will come up and light the league on fire immediately, but in reality, very few players ever do.
  6. They should make Pratt do push-ups every time he swings at a high fastball.
  7. I am entertained watching Kuhnel because he never looks like he wants to be out there.
  8. I'd take Vaughn over Frelick in a fight, easily.
  9. I think Chourio should have his Player of the Week award rescinded and be DFA'd for being bad at robbing homers. Designated Hit the Showers.
  10. lol - Chourio's teammates are visibly annoyed he didn't catch that.
  11. Pratt was on the verge of tears in his interview with Sophia.
  12. There are many ways to win a baseball game. What's cool about baseball is not everyone has to be good every game to win.
  13. Kuhnel 100% looks like he would've been a setup man for the '82 Brewers.
  14. It really wasn't that bad. Yes, he airmailed the throw, but it was obviously because his plant foot slipped. Perhaps a veteran would have just eaten it or made sure he was stable before throwing.
  15. Maybe he's just really happy to leave Nashville.
  16. Atlanta has a similar thing, but the exclusive club is right there by the seats. Our former vet had those seats and gave my family tickets when the Brewers were in town. It was incredible. Obviously great seats, but the club was incredible. Enormous and basically anything you could ever want to eat, and as much as you wanted. We got there early and ate before the game. It remained open during the game, but IIRC, not everything was available. We went back in between innings once or twice.
  17. I think she'll still be called Amy.
  18. Honestly, the Brewers' pitching last night was pretty ok. Really just couldn't hit. Can't hit dingers if you strikeout a ton. And boy, is Yelich a fantastic baserunner.
