  1. This is probably a good time to remind everyone of these Fan Forum Etiquette items. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  2. Yeah, that's pretty much the poster child for mis-heard lyrics. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif For what it's worth, they go like this: Blinded by the light, revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night
  3. That's why MLB dumped GWRBI as an official stat. Too many of them were happening early in the game. While it obviously didn't do anything in terms of player evaluation, it didn't even make for very good trivia.
  4. Well, the guy certainly doesn't look unhappy when we see him. I'd say "unhappy" and "upset" are probably the wrong words. I think it'd be fair to suggest that he's "disappointed" in his lack of save opportunities. The media like to twist things, and they certainly "adjust" quotes in order to make them fit the stories they're trying to write. I'm betting that this is one of those articles that's intentionally slanted in order to make it more sensational than an accurate description of the situation would be.
  5. We could probably spin off a thread just on mis-heard lyrics. Definitely. Mis-hearing lyrics isn't anything to feel bad about. It's not like you're mis-quoting Shakespeare or anything like that.
  6. The (related) thing that gets me is when I see someone walking around, seemingly talking to themselves, and I have to either wonder whether s/he's talking to him/herself (i.e. crazy) or talking to someone else via a Bluetooth thing in his/her ear (arguably a subset of crazy). The worst thing is when I think the person you describe is talking to me.
  7. Netflix has trouble streaming HD on my 5MB connection. Unfortunately, I can't simply pick a lower quality; Netflix has to decide to do that on its own, and it might take several tries. It does offer a free month, though, so you have time to evaluate. They used to allow several users to stream from the same account simultaneously, but they're cutting that out. That's too bad for families of more than one person. Messing with physical disks is certainly a pain. I'd much rather stream or download.
  8. Turn me on dead man…
  9. Here's a link to the 2010-2011 Pro Hockey Thread. If there's any unfinished discussion in that topic, feel free to carry it on over here.
  10. Superseded by the 2011-2012 Pro Hockey Thread. Please feel free to continue any relevant discussion from this topic in the new thread.
  11. I see that your question wasn't answered. It was planned beforehand that Rickie would only play part of the game and that McGehee would take his spot in the lineup.
  12. There's nothing wrong with letting Hairston play the whole game and moving him to 2B if Yuni is brought in. Of course, Wilson and Counsell are options to replace Rickie too.
  13. It might not even be possible to sell the picture on eBay as there could easily be copyright issues.
  14. The concept of making your bathroom available to strangers for a fee is flawed on several levels.
  15. Adam McCalvy has promoted this cause. Funds needed for ballpark project to honor fan
  16. When would it be a good time to start a 2011-12 topic?
  17. The team wouldn't add a man to the 40-man roster if they didn't plan to suit him up for games.
  18. I am pretty sure that the wild card never gets home field. The Wikipedia article makes this clear in a very unclear way. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Also, Trenni was discussing this last night. The Braves aren't a home field factor as far as the Brewers are concerned.
  19. The division winners have home field advantage over the wildcard team throughout the postseason. Won-loss record matters when division winners are matched against each other. The Brewers need to worry about the Diamondbacks, but not the Braves. http://en.wikipedia.org/w...ague_Baseball_postseason
  20. I actually found that AB totally believable. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  21. The strange thing about tonight's no shows wasn't simply that they occurred. It was where they occurred. The right field Loge bleachers were practically empty, and the left field Loge bleachers were less than half full. Those are usually popular seats. I read somewhere recently that a "typical" no show rate is likely around 17%. That has to be a "best guess" as no show numbers aren't announced. A look at Miller Park would indicate that the Brewers are generally well below that threshold. Apparently, the Dodgers are usually well above it. The crowd definitely had the Packer game on their radios. There was significant cheering every time the Packers scored.
  22. I think reilly's acknowledging the sample size when he says that Casey might be a strong rebound candidate vs. lefties. He's looking for a good set of eyes that might suggest otherwise. markedman5 addresses Casey's hitting in general, but doesn't specifically address the possibility that lefty pitchers may have found some sort of advantage.
