  1. I’ll go a step further > tremendous outing! Don’t think he’s going back to the pen any time soon. Brewers knew what they were doing keeping him in the rotation. Kinda makes our rotation a little more formidable. Sure...maybe if he pitches like this the rest of the year..but if he pitches like he did against the Cubs...
  2. Reds will be the Mets 2.0. Bauer Castillo Gray Wood Mahle Declafani plus a pretty good pen. Lineup pretty strong too. Better than than the cards. There gonna be tough to beat. Aquino has gone deep 3 times already tonight...that's 7 on the year in like 26 AB's.
  3. Did the problems really need exposing? I think everyone in the league knows the pen is a dumpster fire. The formula going forward needs to be Albers 6th(or 7th if starter goes 6), Pomeranz, Hader...that's your 3...lean on them Craig. Setting specific pitchers for specific innings is about the worst strategy you can have. Use them when you need them. If the biggest ABs in the game happen to come in the 6th, use Hader in the 6th. Do what you gotta do, no set roles please... My whole point is, those are the only three I trust...I want NO part of anyone else in the pen...use them as LITTLE as possible.

  5. Oh great, so he's going with Jeffress next?? Great call Craig! GO WITH POMERANZ dammit!
  6. It's not just you, but when anyone asks "how can the Brewers do it"?? Because...baseball. Look at what the Mets are doing..2 weeks ago...2 weeks! they had the 2nd worst record in the NL...now...tied for the 2nd wild card and have won 14-15. Just an incredible tear. Look at the Streak the Giants went on earlier...got themselves into the wildcard picture...it's baseball, anything can happen, and it's not like the Crew is talentless.
  7. Not just Hader, but the entire staff...is it just me or do the Brewers Pitchers seem to be hurt more by the juiced ball this year than any other staff in baseball??
  8. Adam McCalvy @AdamMcCalvy · Aug 9 There was a lot of excitement about Freddy Peralta, reliever. But in his first four appearances of August he has walked eight batters in three innings. Six of the eight came with two outs including three tonight.
  9. When you need at least four relievers every game you have to be a little judicious about how often they have guys throwing in the bullpen. CC is usually taking guys out early, if anything. His starters, yes, I agree, but not his bullpen guys. I never felt good about that inning the minute I saw Peralta on the hill. He seems to have no rhyme or reason when he uses guys this year. To me, that's Albers's inning, Pomeranz in the 7th, then Josh. To me, those are my three most reliable BP arms right now.
  10. This is where Counsell has messed up a lot this year IMO...a guy like Freddy comes in, gets two quick outs..then walks a guy...as SOON as he walked that first guy, he should have someone up..but he has always seemed to wait to long this year to get guys up, and whoever is on the mound has to face a batter or two more than they should, and the inning blows up.
  11. I love Braunie, but that is and always has been a weakness of his..you throw him that slider away and in the dirt like that and for whatever reason he will chase it every single time.
  12. How about we win ourselves. That would be nice. I mean I like when the Cubs lose, but hardly a big celebration if we can’t help ourselves. They've got this
  13. And, as I had suspected and said awhile ago when everyone was all impressed by the Cardinals...once they played real teams after the ASB they would come back to reality...and they have.
  14. Counsell would be a moron to pull Pomeranz now...his pitch count is low, he's started in the past and they are up 3-0...let him go
  15. C'mon...the Supak love is a little over the top here...he has made 2...2AAA starts...in his first one he gave up 4 bombs...4!! He's a rookie, and everyone wants to throw him into the fire in the middle of a pennant race?? Even if it's for only one start...I'm NOT okay with that. Then again, had the Brewers gone out and did what they should have at the deadline and gotten a starter, this situation wouldn't be so dire. But, can we be careful with the Supak love here please?? I need to see ALOT more before I'm ready to anoint him. Besides, what would he go, 4 innings at most I'd bet?? No point in calling him up for that.
  16. Seems odd to me that Maddon is leaving his veteran starter in for a baby seal beating. Well, Kintzler just went on the IL today joining Kimbrel, so they may be a little short(and terrible in the bullpen).
  17. Again, we don't have a right handed pinch hitter, and if you PH for him, who is playing SS the last 3 innings? I get that, wasn't asking for him to be PH for, just for him to not swing at the first pitch every damn time in those situations.
  18. That was a rookie mistake by Grisham there...yes, Moose should have made that play, but if Trent looks up at all(rather then having his mind going to 2nd all the way on the throw), he has an out at home.
  19. They are Ting off on Lester...why does he seem average against most teams in the league but Cy Young against the brewers?? All the Cubs pitchers do, it's so maddening.
