  1. And of course the Cubs who had struck out 9 times and had only two hits heading into the 8th inning, get a two run Triple from Tony Kemp off of Vazquez to take a 2-1 lead. Because of course....Pirates.
  2. The Cards have had the good fortune of playing the Pirates 9 times since the All Star break..They are 19-12 since the ASB, that's pretty damn good, right?? Well..Not really...when you consider... 18 of their 19 wins since the ASB have come against the Pirates(8), Dbacks(2), Cincy(3), Cubs(2-at home), Royals(2). Not exactly beating great teams...their 12 losses have come against Pitt(1), Cincy(2), Cubs(1), Dbacks(1), Houston(2), Oak(2), Dodgers(3). So when they have actually played good teams, they have struggled too. Their winning streaks have been built on sweeping Pitts and beating the Royals, and sweeping Pitts and beating the Reds once and Houston once. NOT impressed at all. They are ONLY in contention of who they have played the 2nd half. It matters.
  3. Huh, I apologize for the incorrect info...It was a tweet I saw yesterday morning, and maybe I read it wrong. Either way, last night was freaking glorious! But nothing like them getting to play the Pirates to cure what ails them right now
  4. A stat I heard today that really shocked me...the Cubs haven't won a single road series yet this year. I know they have been bad on the road this year..but wow, to not have one road series win yet?? Fear not, they now go to Pittsburgh..that should certainly help them gain their first road series win this year. Maybe Pittsburgh will help the Crew even more this weekend. Go Pirates!
  5. Joe Alexander @JoeAlexander210 · 11m Saw a player I didn't recognize taking infield at third base and BP with San Antonio Missions at Wolff Stadium. Guessing it's Jung Ho Kang. @missionsmilb @brewers #missionsmilb #MissionsBaseball #samissions #Brewers #brewcrew #thisismycrew
  6. Maybe this has something to do with it...thought this was interesting... Buster Olney @Buster_ESPN · 14h As Josh Hader looks for answers to his HR issue this year, tempo might be one thing to consider. His pace on the mound has slowed dramatically this year, from 24.8 seconds in ‘18 between pitches to 30 seconds (157th of 164 mlb relievers).
  7. You wouldn't have expected it from Gio though...Anderson...yes, Hauser...definitely... Lyles...would be the most likely, Gio?? No...he never loses his command like this and walks this many guys. Incredibly disappointing...you sweep Pittsburgh, take 2 of 3 against Texas, now give those two games right back..that shouldn't happen...at home.
  8. I sure as hell hope this season makes Stearns do a lot of self reflecting and realizing he was VERY bad this year. He NEEDS to get as much good pitching as possible. Period.
  9. VERY rare to see Gio have this kind of outing. He's been so good for the Crew dating back to last year.
  10. I know it's not much consolation, but...That whole inning changed when Hiura dropped that ball. He catches that the Crew is out of the inning unscathed.
  11. Not sure how a guy that lived up in the zone(where he needs to be) before the all star break, now can't get the ball up to save his life. Really mystifying.
  12. SMH...that's just...I was VERY nervous to see him come in, would have left Albers in. Let Josh start the 9th with a clean inning.
  13. I really thought Albers was going to come in to start the 8th...then Hader for the 9th. Thought Pom would be the opener tomorrow...if they hold on and win no way I see them starting Gio on normal rest.
  14. Hey, the Brewers acquired the solution to their RH hitting 1B today by saying Tyler Austin to a minor league deal.
  15. Because this team sucks. People need to get this through their head so we don’t need to go through this every night. Why would you invest a ton of money in the titanic. It would be like a goof investing in Kodak after the iPhone came out I honestly don’t know why we gave any assets away in July. Maybe he felt he had to appease message boards They suck and yet they are still only 2.5 games out of first. So then the Cubs must suck too, right?? Yet they went out and acquired(or I should say stole) Castellanos to improve themselves for this year. Funny how that works.
  16. For the life of me, I still cannot figure out why DS didn't do more at the deadline...even if he didn't go BIG, he still could have done more to improve this team. One example...instead of letting the Cubs get Castellanos, how about giving up a middling propspect(like they did), and acquire him yourself and play him at 1B against LHP. How much better would the lineup look then??
