  1. It's really pathetic that you can have runners on 1st and 2nd to start an inning with your 4-5-6 hitters coming up against a guy making his major league debut and do nothing with it. Well done Crew. This is obviously a team that couldn't care less if they win the division or not, just make it to the playoffs right Brewers?? Way to settle for less than you are capable of.
  2. And to think, today Lou Piniella decides to rest Harden for about 13 days because he says they have a big enough lead to allow him some rest. Way to make him look like a profit Brewers. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif The Cubs are begging to be caught and the Brewers just don't seem to want to catch them.
  3. Adam Dunn owns the Cubs, along with Randy Johnson. There is no doubt in my mind whatsoever that if the Cubs have to face the Dbacks in the first round, they'll be going home again....and the beauty is, I think most of their fans feel this way deep down as well. Make no mistake about it, they want absolutely nothing to do with the Dbacks.
  4. I know there is a different thread for this but after the Cards score 3 in the top of the 1st, the Astros came right back with a 6 spot in the bottom. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  5. I am far more concerned about being 6 GB of the Cubs then having potentially a 5.5 game WC lead shrunk back to 3.5. If the Brewers fall just short of catching the Cubs for the division, we may look back on this game as the one that really hurt down the stretch.
  6. To get out of this tied would be huge. What an incredible momentum turn this could be potentially being 5.5 up and maybe only being back to 3.5 up.
  7. Well, here's the view of Carlos's "antics" from North Side Baseball: dextermorgan Joined: Tue Jan 15, 2008 9:36 pm Posts: 3432 Wow, what is Villanueva's problem? That was some bush stuff from a guy who hasn't earned the right to do anything like that dextermorgan Did you see what Villanueva did? I don't blame Albert Soul What did Villy do besides yell in celebration? He did it looking right into the Cards' dugout. It was pretty blatant, IMO. I can see why Pujols took exception to it.
  8. You think anybody on a Cardinals board is now writing, "Well, they let him off the hook. Got a feeling it's going to be a long night now. Anyone want to bet Sheets now settles in??" Yes, but, there is a world of difference between Ben Sheets and Tod Wellemeyer. You expect Sheets to settle in, that's what aces do. Tod Wellemeyer you expect to tattoo.
  9. Well, they let him off the hook. Got a feeling it's going to be a long night now. Anyone want to bet Wellemeyer now settles in??
  10. No worries, the Crew will walk it off in the bottom half.
  11. EXACTLY!! They have several guys that are having career years or better seasons than any they have had recently and they still only have a 4 1/2 game lead on the Crew. That should tell any baseball fan what they need to know about the two teams. It's taking several career years from Cubs players to ONLY have a 41/2 game lead on the more talented Brewers who by the way, have several players that are having worse seasons than they had last year. Don't forget Mark DeRosa's career high in HR's or Jim Edmonds's Babe Ruthian impression this year.
  12. We will see just how easy life is for the Scrubs when they hit the road(and actually have to start playing some real teams) for most of September. The Brewers will get this race tied up at some point. At the end of the day they are still the Cubs.
  13. I missed it. Why not and who is pitching in place of him? He's been pushed back to Monday. Gorzelanny tomorrow, so the Crew gets three lefties this series!!!
  14. So the Crew doesn't have to face Karstens tomorrow, things are looking up!!
  15. Once again, the Cubs game is over before the Brewers even start and lo and behold they are struggling. This seemingly happens every time this year when they already know the results of the Cubs game before playing their game.
  16. Geoff Freaking Blum are you serious?? how many damn times is he going to beat the Brewers this year?? Playoff teams do NOT let guys like Geoff Blum beat them. Unreal.... That being said, I still think this game has that "walk off" feel to it.
  17. This team is just so frustrating to watch. I said it then, and I will say it again, they will not recover from that Cubs series. It's proving to be true. So what?? They won 2 in ATL, a college team could've won two against ATL. Jorge Campillo schooled them for the third time this year, now Manny is having the ultimate meltdown against a team that has given up on the season. Not to mention the scorless innings streak is at 15 and counting. That Cubs series was the beginning of the end for this team I'm afraid.
  18. There are ways of making sure nit as many Cub fans show up, believe me. The Brewers ticket office just needs to get the kahunas to implement it, no matter how many Brewer fans it might upset. Season ticket holders that sell their tickets to Cubs fans should be and very easily could be severely punished by the Brewers.
  19. I completely, whole-heartedly, 100% disagree. I think it's pretty clear that the Cubs are probably the best team in the National League. You don't get a 100+ run differential by being lucky. If you want to give up on this team on July 30, be my guest. Even after this series is done, there's still 6 games left against the Cubs and a cupcake schedule. The Brewers will still be in it in September -- I think even Cubs fans would agree with that. I guess we'll agree to disagree on just how good the Cubs are. Never mind the fact they have guys having career years(see, Theriot, Ryan for one). Keep clinging to false hope. Your a better fan then I am. I have seen it to many times with this team though to know that they will NOT recover from this. Cupcake schedule?? Heck, this team is going to lose 6-7 at home ,and you want to talk about a cupcake schedule?? For this team, there is no such thing. They MIGHT, MIGHT be in the WC hunt in September but that's about it. I guess it's something, but it's extremely disappoitning when your as talented as this team is that you have to settle for MAYBE being in the WC hunt in September. A WC hunt in which they just effectively blew a three game lead in a matter of 6 days.
  20. Might as well start the over/under guesses on harden Strikeouts tomorrow?? What probably set at 13??
  21. We are Brewer fans, should we have expected anything else??
  22. Nothing, I mean absolutely NOTHING is going right for the Brewers this series. The Cubs are NOT this good. This is their World Series and they are playing like it. Well, it was a fun year for 4 months. As a Brewer fan, that is more then I can say in most season's. Good thing football season is here. Please don't give me the "it's a long season line", you make it sound like this series means nothing, and truth be told, this WAS the Brewers season. They choked, and the downward spiral begins, and if no one else can see that or wants to accept it, then that's up to you, but reality is often a bitter pill. You don't win 7 in a row on the road, then lose (soon to be 6-7 at home) and think it's just a "mirage". It isn't. They are done.
  23. He either gets out of it here and they stay alive, or the Cubs score and the Crew gets swept tomorrow. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
