  1. almost looked like Prince thought that the game was over there
  2. apparently Ned has decided not to argue any calls this year either. Stick up for your team and at least challange that play
  3. just go hosed on another call by the umps again
  4. what was the point of that? we have a fairly rested pen, and a day off tomorrow
  5. totally don't agree with Benny pitching another inning here
  6. Sheets decides to wait and set the strikeout record at home, what a team player!!
  7. anyone on gameday that can update what Ben's pitch count is up to?
  8. good heads up play by Corey there. he looked safe, but that just makes up for Sheets being called out at the plate
  9. Cameron must have read the post earlier that the Crew had the 4th worst OPS
  10. I forgot how effortlessly Carlos Lee plays left field. in his case, effortlessly isn't a good thing either
  11. Give him a break, he's had a 2 year long month
  12. I'm in on giving the evil eye to Dale, I thought Rickie would have been out at the plate in the first today. And he NEVER EVER EVER should have sent Sheets home on the play that he was out on, even though I agree and he looked safe. This is our clear #1 pitcher, who admittedly isn't on base very often, and you can't take the chance that anything goes wrong on the play. If Benny would have been injured there, I think BF.net would have been shut down for the season, and rightfully so. The suicide watch would have been out of control
  13. wow, Benny is really trying to be the stopgap here!! talk about stepping up
  14. great to have the run and early lead, but again it looked like Rickie would have been out at the plate if that throw wasn't cut off.
  15. From everything that I've heard and seen, Eight Belles didn't race with the broken ankles. Really gruesome and I by no means support horse racing but when something that drastic happens there is no other option than to euthanize a horse. On sportscenter they said that the injury happened well after the race was over and somehow, no one could say why yet, she factured both front ankles with one poking through the skin. And I thought Yo's knee looked grotesque.
  16. Benny, we need you to be the stopper here. If we can salvage a win in this series, take the day off Monday and start a hot streak in Florida I'd be very happy. I believe it was in Florida last year that both JJ and Rickie had pretty good series, something about the game that went into extras and was completed the next day. For some reason that sticks in my head as a good run for them both. I might be way wrong though.
  17. With Escobar in the wings, I don't think that we have to worry about moving Gamel
  18. I agree with FTJ, use as few words as possible. In my experience when I have to let someone go, they usually know that it is coming which may be why you think she is avoiding you. I try to show as much respect as possible and just have a short conversation with the outgoing person letting them know why they are being let go. Open yourself to questions and let her know that you'd be willing to give her a reference in the future (if she is leaving on somewhat good terms at least) and try to just leave it at that. Good luck with it, I know it certainly isn't easy.
  19. Costas showed that he surely wasn't an unbiased moderator when he read off the comments from deadspin about Sean Salisbury though. He had that info all printed out and prepped to use against Leitch. He didn't have, or at least use, any prepped stuff against Bissinger's points though. That's where I get the intentionally set up frame.
  20. Hey Chad Fox, welcome to the Cubs and way to give up the walk-off homer to Skip Schumaker today!! Too bad that's the highlight of my Brewers related day
  21. Thanks for the link, Bucky. After watching that clip, I have lost a bit of respect for Costas. That whole set up seemed more biased and slanted against new media than most deadspin blogs are against athletes.
  22. Hey, SeriesFinale about that going back to work, um isn't there something that you could go back and catch up on or something?
  23. Ok JJ, this would be a really good time to get a hit. You only get so many chances with the bases loaded in a game, and I think 2 is a whole lot for one night
