  1. I've got a really good feeling about Capuano tomorrow. After that, the Brewers get to face (at home) a Cardinal team who has basically given up on the year, and then San Diego. The tough thing about San Diego is A) it's 4 games against a team fighting for a playoff spot, and B) they will have to face Maddux, Young, and maybe Peavy on Sunday. Yikes. Still, the way this team plays at home, I'm not ruling anything out. I have a ton of confidence that they can get the job done. Never lose hope!

  5. Well, it was Stocker on 3rd, probably the 2nd fastest guy on the team right now. With Chipper charging, Mel had a huge lead each pitch. As long as Counsell got the ball down, Stocker was going to score. I'm guessing that was what Ned was thinking.
  6. No, that's all on Coco. He's expected to close out close games, and he didn't. No excuse for allowing a bomb to Thorman.
  7. Ned wanted to put the bunt on there, which wasn't a bad move. Counsell has to be considered one of the best bunters on the team, and we all expected him to get one down. He didn't so we can all blame Craig, not Yost.
  8. Absolutely nobody should be complaining about Yost today. It came down to 2 things: obviously the homerun and Rickie's misplay. Other than that, he did perfectly fine.
  9. I think theres more to that rumor. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/adam_lind/index.html
  10. I think Seattle's a good fit. If they let Sexson go, Ibanez can play 1st, and then you've got a vacancy in left field. Barry can split his time there and at DH.
  11. I brought that up about Capuano in the "Forget Capuano, Bring in Yo" thread. Cappy's numbers haven't been that bad at all; he's had a big rise in hits/9, and I attribute that largely to a porous defense. It's interesting to think where the team would be if they had an average defense playing behind the pitchers.
  12. I completely agree with the high K/low BB theory for this team. I think that's what Melvin and Co. has been trying to do (Rogers, Jones, Yo), but as you can see, 2 of those 3 guys have had major arm problems, but they are all high strikeout pitchers.
  13. Interesting you brought up Seattle. How about a Sheets and Zach Jack to Seattle for Balentien and Clement?
  14. The point is you're supposed to use your best relievers when you're in a division race with 12 games left in the season. Throw out the stupid saves stat at that point, it doesn't matter one bit. Ned's job is to win and lose with the best players he can put out there, and he did not do that last night. Wise had been atrocious since that Cincy series, so it made 0 sense to put him in in a tie game. You'd like to think Ned is smart enough to put a reliable reliever out there at that point in the game.
  15. I think you're WAY overvaluing Sheets.
  16. Stick with what's working. Jenkins starting = not working.
  17. Brian, do you still play MVP regularly?
  18. The best hitter the Brewers have.
  19. Sutton does all of those things I bolded, yet you still have him #1? http://static.yuku.com//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/eek.gif
  20. Brian is fantastic; I have 0 complaints about him. Rock, on the other hand...
  21. Wait, you went to class for the first time today? It's the 3rd week of classes! Where do you live and what buses are you taking?
  22. Baseball in the cold is just horrendous. I remember earlier this year against the Pirates and Cubs when it was basically snowing during and after the game. That was absolutely no fun at all. The warmer, the better.
  23. UWM has a bowling alley? I'm a junior there and had no idea. I live on Maryland about 4 blocks north of campus.
  24. I assume you guys already know about firejoemorgan.com.
