  1. Not a big fan of Nolin, would rather have Morales over him.
  2. Reed has been undervalued for years, his rating is reasonable.
  3. It is just a satirical article to fill up space during spring training and too many people believed it to be true and started to believe Hank is dead. I doubt Hank is dead but there is likely multiple Hanks for promotional purposes.
  4. Didn't see this... I'm not trying to prove any point. Braun might be better, might well be worse. I don't really even care that much about it. But I've easily disproven your proclamation that Braun "will" be worse. Worse isn't even really defined. So that's a blatantly false (you're fond of using the word controversial, apparently) and unprovable statement. No you have not, that is an absolute statement that I do not agree with.
  5. I have not seen any articles indicating Brewers would love to trade Braun but there have been twitter comments or one sentence blurbs in larger articles indicating that but nothing of substance.
  6. His option is based on games pitched in not started the way I have read it. Bullpen would be worse. It is based on starts, he needs 110 starts between 2014-2017. He is at 52 and need 58 the next two years.
  7. Jerry Palm has noted that there have only been 4 teams to have 5 bad losses and still make the tournament. None have been seeded higher than 8. Therefore, I think it might be a stretch to get a 6 seed and I might get a little nervous if they lose to Minnesota as that would be 6 bad losses.
  8. These are probably the exact goals that could realistically be done. I like it. Disagree, if they win two games in the Big ten tournament they are in the championship game. If they make it to the second weekend they are beating a 1 or 2 seed at this point. If you expect them to go to the second weekend might as well just say final four.
  9. Not looking forward to all the replay reviews of the neighborhood play this year.
  10. For a team trying to compete they sure do seem to have a lot of holes.
  11. Very interesting, the Orioles might be desperate and this Braun talk might make sense.
  12. MLB Pipeline featured NL Central teams today. The Pirates and Brewers top 30 were not released therefore they both have top ten farm systems.
  13. I just don't see Rivera making the jump to the big leagues yet, maybe somebody is claimed off waivers or they just go with Perez. Should have open 40 man spots at the end of spring after some cuts.
  14. Now that Davis is out of the picture, thought I would bring back the idea of trading for Bundy. The Orioles are consistently in the bottom 5 or 6 teams for prospect rankings and also seem to be going for it with acquisitions like Gallardo and Fowler. It also appears it may be difficult for the Orioles to keep Bundy on the roster all year if they are trying to win so would it make sense for the Orioles to make a prospect for prospect deal? From everything I have read they have basically no outfield prospects so would they take a guy in the upper minors like a Taylor or Reed or perhaps a guy in the lower minors with high upside like Harrison in exchange for Bundy. It would be a heck of a lot easier for the Brewers to keep Bundy on the roster and they could slowly ease him into the rotation and have him pitch in the Arizona Fall League.
  15. I would be fine with it. Cecchini had a disaster year last year and needs to work things out and hopefully gain confidence. If he mashes then he can always be brought up. Same thing with Hill, if he is brutal then the Brewers have a couple of options to bring up. Gives more playing time to Walsh as well, somebody they can't just let play in the minors.
  16. He is a rule 5 pick but the second choice and a relief pitcher not a left handed starter so I doubt the leash is as long as Wang's was.
  17. Best: Probably the Davis trade because I really like Nottingham and I think at the very least Derby will be a solid reliever. Worst: The Sardinas trade. I actually kind of like Flores and that he is left handed but it would be nice to have Villar at third and Sardinas at short right now just as a fan going to the games. Not looking forward to Villar at short and seeing Hill on a regular basis. Big fan of Reed as well and wouldn't mind him getting a shot but not likely with the crowded outfield.
  18. Yes, but why do they keep adding more Lucroy days? They already have a Lucroy jersey in May and a Lucroy backpack in August. It is always a joke locally and nationally when there is a promotion after a guy is traded, imagine if they do it three times in a season.
  19. No clue, I was never of fan of the mid 90's Brewers uniforms but can't recall ever seeing those. They are having a 90's night this year on July 30th and would fit right in.
  20. Agreed, if Lucroy is traded I don't see Maldonado just getting handed the job. Pina was acquired by Stearns and is a year younger than Maldonado so I wouldn't rule him out as starter if Lucroy is traded.
  21. It is not here but there are writers that think they are better. From an article at BrewCrewBall talking about crazy USA Today predictions the writer has a kind of crazy prediction in my opinion as well. LINK I expect the Brewers to improve on last year's 68-94 record: they're either the same or improved at every position on the diamond except perhaps first base.
  22. It makes sense if for the 2,500 employees or so. Also not surprised the Brewers were not receptive to a structure for the fans.
  23. Yes, and there were some pretty good players on that team. Lucroy will be a huge factor in if they lose 100, pretty much every position is average or below average offensively and defensively. I have watched a lot of Brewers baseball and looking at this team it is right up there with the worst Brewers teams no doubt. The future is much brighter but it doesn't change the current major league team and how horrible they will be.
  24. I liked Davis but I really like the catcher they received in return as well. Davis should fit in well with the Athletics.
  25. I liked the ad but agree it is hard to market the team around a player or players since there is so much trade talk. They have two Lucroy promotions and he could be gone for both, I received a Brewers calendar for Christmas and it had Carlos Gomez on the front. If fans can't relate to the '82 Brewers they at least can relate to the 2008 and 2011 Brewers moments mentioned in the ad and the excitement at the time.
