  1. With the off days they should not need him before September 1. They have a four man rotation and 8 bullpen guys right now.
  2. That could be the right approach but too hard to tell what the new GM will be thinking. Give Davis another full year healthy to see what he can do. Still think he can be a mid 800 OPS guy and he is entering his prime at the minimum. Probably will be pretty bad in 2016 but could be exciting seeing Lucroy/Braun/Lind/Davis/Santana lineup to start the year.
  3. 'If you misunderstand the way I play the game, it's your fault' That is pretty awesome and also correct. The Yankees should be more concerned about their lazy defense on the play that allowed Gomez to get a hustle double.
  4. They have a better chance at 1 than 9. It will be a very pathetic September.
  5. Would prefer Suter in September over the younger guys where service time could become an issue. Suter is already 26 so probably not much of an issue with him.
  6. You are basically shedding 30 million in salary for fringe prospects, a useless Mauer and giving Lucroy away. The Brewers can easily trade Braun for very good prospects if they agree to pay $70 million in salary. They would be able to keep Lucroy as well.
  7. Baseball Prospectus recently had a list of the last five years of calkups for the Brewers and there was a low of four and high of seven.
  8. Chapman will be a free agent if not added to 40 man, Guez is hurt and probably would have been up here already after the trades. My predictions are Clark, Sardinas, Chapman, Ashley, Strong. Also one of Davies, Wagner or Lopez to get a start or two. Not as exciting as some on talk radio are hoping for. Service time is just too important for the top guys. Would rather see them earlier next year than right now.
  9. Yeah, they are horrible and pretty much playing the month of September on the road. I am still optimistic for top 5.
  10. A valid question considering he may be on the 40 man roster bubble at season end.
  11. Brewers have already put out their lineup for tonight and Santana is playing CF.
  12. Excited to see Santana play but contrary to others hopefully not at the expense of Davis. This team isn't good enough for either to really be rotting on the bench.
  13. They have three open 40 man spots so they could really call up anybody, young or old. 8 in the bullpen should be enough with multiple off days so probably a bat and maybe Santana would be the best offensive option with a couple of AL games next week.
  14. Top 50 per a Fangraphs chat with Kiley McDaniel "Yep, his velo spiked, talked to a scout that saw him 92-95 recently. He's in the top 50." http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/kiley-mcdaniel-prospects-chat-81915/
  15. I thought it was him at first, but after looking again don't think it was.
  16. He's been bad for the Orioles so far. Glad we traded him when we did. He was never going to keep up that kind of production. The danger of small samples is one good weekend can change things in a hurry. Now hitting a healthy 295/348/492 for Baltimore and local sports guys asking that he get extended.
  17. Kind of amazed they had almost 35,000 in attendance for this game. Even though the vast majority is advance sales it was pretty well known the Phillies were going to be horrible.
  18. Nice to see Braun playing well in the second half of the season. Might be one of the few bright spots the remainder of the year.
  19. I really hope Nevin Ashley gets a shot at the majors this year. He deserves it and there should be 40 man spots available in September.
  20. Yeah, I think this whole premise just kind of falls flat. First, it is kind of silly to argue if you would trade a player you have for another player you already have at the big league level. Secondly, it doesn't matter if you would or would not trade Santana for Davis because somebody else may very well trade player x for Davis and another team player y for Davis. There are 29 teams to trade with and they all have different needs and are at different stages of building or rebuilding. Some teams would find Davis useless while others would love to have a cost controlled player with power.
  21. Just very difficult to watch at this point. The Phillies and Marlins coming to town has to be up there for one of the least appealing home stands at Miller Park in a long time. A six game Toilet Bowl.
  22. Phillips is a triples machine, already three with Biloxi and has 14 each of the past two seasons.
  23. Guess not because the Padres got Thielbar and they were behind the Brewers in waiver priority.
  24. The location pretty much eliminated any wow factor potential being located in a big parking lot. Which for the Brewers is fine because tailgating in a ways is the big thing fans do experience. The Bucks are looking at the wow factor.
