  1. Escobar has a 300 OBP for his career, if Arcia has good plate discipline he should be way better offensively, not really a stretch.
  2. Probably the likely choice since Lind is slumping and Gomez isn't doing much. If there was such a thing as Braun being blacklisted then I imagine K-Rod would be on the same list.
  3. In regards to Braun I disagree that the Brewers will have to take on much salary if he continues to play this way. It would be fairly easy for a 31 year old free agent hitting like him to get a 5/100 contract on the open market.
  4. Probably wouldn't really be considered a prospect but I thought Marc Newfield would be great. He was only 23 when traded to the Brewers and put up a near 900 OPS in his couple hundred of at bats with the Brewers. Was horrible the next year and did pretty much nothing after.
  5. Probably need to add Braun to that list as well since he is playing so well.
  6. No need for blue as tickets are generally quite a bit cheaper when the team is bad.
  7. Reed's got OBP skills and speed, plus increasing power (1 homer in all of 2013, 5 in 2014, 3 in 1/3 of a season in 2015). I think he's another Carlos Gomez. He's got an arm (7 assists so far). I could see a starting outfield of Roache in left, Reed in center, and Coulter in right in 2017. I am as big as a fan of Reed's as anybody but they have been playing him pretty much only in RF probably because of Taylor. I don't really know his injury situation right now but I wouldn't mind if they bumpef bumped Reed up to play cf in AAA and gave Roach a shot at AA by mid season. At the moment I have doubts Reed can play cf at big league level but if he can he would certainly be in the running for a starting gig once Gomez leaves.
  8. Featherston would be a nice right handed side of the platoon if Scooter was still on this team. Difficult to say how he would fit on the team now because I don't really know their long term plans for Segura, Sardinas, Scooter, Hector Gomez or even Rivera. Would rather the Brewers acquire a real 3B in one of the trades they make.
  9. If you put it that way then yes, the Phillies just recently had a 6 game winning streak.
  10. Speaking of Chapman and since his agent posts here, what are the plans for him? He is a former big leaguer that is pitching well in AA, are the Brewers planning to bump him up to AAA or would they even consider promoting him to the big league club without a stint in AAA? Any issues with his hip still?
  11. Any idea why they would free up a 40 man spot now? There doesn't appear to be anybody in the minors that they need to make room for. Maybe Nevin Ashley if they are fed up with the catching situation.
  12. Last night Braun tied Paul Molitor for third in the Brewers all time RBI with 790. Cooper is second with 944.
  13. He certainly needed it, a .075 average and no walks in his previous 10 games.
  14. Like Briggs said Clark plays 1B pretty much every day so Ramirez is blocked. Both hit lefty as well so Ramirez will struggle to get a spot on the big league roster as long as Clark is still in the organization and don't see why they would move Clark since he has multiple options left.
  15. Minor nitpick but Yount won an MVP shortly after turning 34. I would certainly take two more MVP type seasons from Braun in 2016 and 2017 so the contract doesn't look quite as bad.
  16. If the plan is eventually to move Segura to 2B anyway for Arcia, doesn't it enhance Sardinas' trade value if he's producing at the major league level as a 22 year old? I'd at least consider keeping him there if he's producing. If that is really the plan, yes. Not convinced they plan to keep Segura though and he has more value at SS than 2B. Maybe they have the will power to trade one now and then one before next year's deadline before bringing up Arica.
  17. I don't think there is any way that Segura goes to second this year. If he is still on the team when Arcia arrives then sure but not right now. Best case scenario is Sardinas continues to play well until Segura returns which keeps the trade value of Sardinas up and then Segura plays well when he takes over SS again. Then trade one or both if a good deal comes their way.
  18. Counsell is very into the r,l,r,l.. batting order.
  19. I am, potential MLB starting options in Johnson, Lopez, Wagner and Hall plus relievers in Strong, Magnifico, Ross. Lots better than previous years. Guys they could use for cheap if they go with a rebuild. Couple of them will pan out.
  20. Regression to the mean has to appear sooner or later for Colon so might as well be tonight.
  21. It has actually worked out that the Brewers have minimal real prospects at AAA. Not looking forward to next year when a bunch of these good pitchers at AA will be pitching at AAA.
  22. Don't like to see a guy getting hurt but nice that we will be able to see more of Gomez and if he can contribute in the future, same with Sardinas. I would rather have Rivera jump to AAA and let him start at SS.
  23. He can now be included in the Wooten-Kintzler merry go round.
  24. Might be time to bring Sardinas up and sen Scooter down.
  25. I actually think playing an AL team that hasn't seen him much will help Fiers tonight. Expecting him to pitch well.
