  1. Said it before when it happend but the Naylor trade has minimal to no impact on Contreras. They probably go the Adames route and stick with Contreras in 2027. Naylor will be fighting to keep a 40 man spot in 2027. Megill has a better possibility of being traded getting up there in years at 33 and in his final year. The Brewers though are pretty weak at RH relievers so would have to fill that need if trading Megill. There is some thought Ashby could be traded with his rising salary but hope not. Would consider offering Bauers the qualifying offer, one year at $21 million or so isn't too much a risk versus a multi year deal. However, would have Adams as the weak side platoon instead of Vaughn if Bauers is getting that type of salary. Turang and Mitchell second year of aribtation so getting more expensive but still not too bad, would think Mitchell is the higher chance of being traded since he is a free agent after the 2028 season.
  2. There really is room for Burke, Fischer and Adams. Adams is the sole righty in the group and we know how the Brewers like to platoon. Yelich is gone in a couple of years so no longer clogging up DH by 2029 at the latest and no other really old guys on the team projected to be DH. Of course if the right offer comes along take it but there should be no rush to trade any of them. Adams will get the first shot next year while the others are in the minors.
  3. Had no idea Luis Urias was back in the majors with the Blue Jays. Had a double and then taken out.
  4. Crow is cheap with plenty of years of control and finally working his way back from injury, glad they kept him. There isn't much of anything blocking Adams, a cheap Andrew Vaughn next year.
  5. Nice job getting a series win after losing the first. A quality start by May but he should be able to do better. Wish the Blue Jays could have scored more than 2 with 10 hits but hopefully hold on.
  6. That is quite the assumption, 1 is the only way to 100% avoid the Dodgers in the NLDS. 2 seed is scary position to face Dodgers in NLDS.
  7. Yeah, would rather keep the better player on the active roster than worry about having Wilson as depth or mop up guy, can find them pretty easily.
  8. I agree, there are usually more position players come playoff time than pitchers so not much of a chance. Plus the playing time of Yelich has not been reduced much unlike Hoskins last year stuck in the minors for a full rehab stint and firmly on the bench when brough up mid September. Yelich also has a significant contract the next two years that they have to deal with.
  9. A 3 seed isn't necessarily bad if Dodgers are the 1. On the other hand getting the 2 seed and the bye isn't all that great if Dodgers are the 3 like the Phillies found out last year. Keep on grinding for the 1 seed, still best path to the World Series and hoping somebody takes out the Dodgers prior to the NLCS.
  10. Good win, going to be a fight for the division and a first round bye.
  11. It feels like there will be a Skubal/Henderson matchup in the playoffs. Would be a great story if Henderson game out the victor.
  12. On the Brewers, not a chance. However, he is most likely a generational prospect, jsut the reality.
  13. Yes, there are two parts of this trade and in three years we might be lamenting having to play against these guys so often on the Cardinals but right now the team is better. May will be starting in the playoffs, he has starting experience in the playoffs and has played in the World Series. Romero has been real solid against lefties for a long time, hopefully he can relive some of the stress off Ashby.
  14. WIth all of the trades the Tigers made I am kind of surprised Gleyber Torres is still with the team, made a qualifying offer last year so no compensation after the season. He could help the offense if Tigers eventually put him on waivers but probably too many teams ahead of the Brewers that would claim him.
  15. Not going to quite the whole post but disagree with Turbo. This games shows how much better this team can be with May vs a guy like Sproat. He obviously isn't Skubal but solidifies this rotation for rest of the year and into the playoffs.
  16. That includes the Brewers, still hasn't been optioned. Hopefully that changes after the trade today. Trust Gasser much more.
  17. I'll go with it, the Brewers are better than they were a couple of hours ago. Not going to worry about who they gave up, it is done.
  18. Brewers get their injured reliever, hopefully turns out better this time. May is a solid pickup, wish they had him for another year.
  19. Nobody knows for sure, it would be part of whatever agreement is reached.
  20. Lara knows the strike zone and definitely would have challenged if he could.
  21. Even with a near decade of success, 69 wins on August 1 is still impressive. The first few years of Miller Park they couldn't even get to 69 wins, now they are competing for best record every year. Nice.
  22. That the Brewers are currently playing, yes. He also does know no matter what he says.
  23. Don't think this is a precursor to anything, just a boring trade that happened to be near the deadline Naylor the potential backup next year.
  24. Exactly, we have seen time after time the Brewers either not having their best pitcher available or nowhere near their best. From Sabathia, Gallardo, Sheets, Williams, Woodruff and even Fingers/Vuk back in the day. Since the playoffs are a near lock, let's try something different.
  25. My son is a Tigers fan and we went to a couple of games this past weekend. After losing two straight to the Royals the mood changed, Think they are finally content on trading Skubal.
