  1. Tobias Myers pitches 5 scoreless against the Mets in an elimination game, we know he can step up. The Mets are the ones that should be worried about him.
  2. Don't let this sway you from coming to the ballpark, still room for you to see the best baseball team in the majors, Uecker seats, only $5.
  3. Can't say I recall ever hearing Rhy Hoskins being called Rhys Lightning. The list is okay but some obvious misses like Raptor (Brent Suter), The Mayor of Ding Dong City (Travis Shaw), Pineapple (Manny Pina) and of course the most recent King Vaughn (Andrew Vaughn).
  4. I assume you are talking about just in season trade, it's going way back to the '82 team but Don Sutton was traded for in late August and he won the last game of the year against Baltimore to win the division and won the game against the Angels when they were down 0-2 and facing elimination.
  5. Two arbitration years won't be cheap, sure looks like a tender at this point though with the rotating 1B we have had since Fielder left. When acquired it appeared like his arbitration number would be similar to 2025 but would think Vaughn is looking for a raise now. Still a bunch of game in the season though.
  6. Baseball Reference has the Brewers at over 20% to win the World Series. Still have room to be more optimistic.
  7. Miller is an easy replacement for McGee but will be interesting to see what they do with the two lefties. One of them will get the extra spot for September but do they just option Gasser? Don't think they would like to lose depth with a DFA of Zastryzny.. Maybe give Koenig a 15 day break prior to the stretch run.
  8. What does Hoskins have to do with this, Seigler is playing the majority of time at 3B? Definitely don't want Dunn up, he was the spring Seigler the last couple of years. However Durbin saved the front office from the Dunn/Capra experience and now being pushed to the side. Lefty infielder is something the front office should have addressed at the trade deadline but now it is too late. Everything is coming up roses now but it is the kind of thing that will bite them come playoff time.
  9. Noted it in a game thread a week or two back but not a fan, if they felt a platoon was needed for Durbin should have picked up somebody with a proven track record at the trade deadline. Having a journeyman minor leaguer as the strong side platoon this late in the season doesn't appear to be a great plan. Tried it with Dunn earlier in the season and now Seigler. They do sub in Durbin as soon as a lefty comes in but not real comfortable with Seigler getting the majority of the playing time in the playoffs.
  10. I am certainly no newbie around here but have disappointment. Salary dumping Cortes is fine if they acquire something else of value from the Padres or anothe team but neither of those things happended. The Cubs got a bit better but the Brewers didn't. The Padres, a team the Brewers could face in the Wild Card round got better. Maybe a waiver wire pickup will fall in their lap in August.
  11. What does luck have to do with it. There are obvious areas of upgrade along the margins and better their chances of advancing in the playoffs. We have all seen them win the division and make the playoffs before. If they think they needed to upgrade catcher they have to know they are pretty thin elsewhere.
  12. Wouldn't mind seeing Henderson, could use somebody better than McGee/Yoho at the bottom and Grant Anderson is starting to look a little shaky.
  13. From the White Sox fans I know they are taking Vaughn's play with the Brewers rather well especially since they considered him such a disappoitnment when he played for them. Maybe him hurting the Cubs softens the blow a bit.
  14. Durbin isn't real good against RHP, could use a platoon down the stretch and into the playoffs but Seigler isn't it.
  15. Moustaks was actually a rental and he decided on a one year deal with the Brewers for the 2019 season before getting the long term contract with the Reds.
  16. Congrats on the good luck. They must have been stacked in bunches because I was walking by the entrance in the left field bleachers and the same thing happend with a group of 4 that were screaming with excitement.
  17. Smith may be just an utlity guy but if he is really available would be a heck of a pickup. Yes, I do believe he is the type of player to add to increase the Brewers chances at a World Series. If the Brewers can pick up 3 WAR guys at the deadline sign me up.
  18. Thanks, missed it last night but will check it out in the future.
  19. I can't imagine anybody believes Arizona. They would be foolish to not take the best offer in what is sure to be a bidding war. They can sign him after the season if they really are that interested.
  20. Brewers get Ryan O'Hearn, that's it.
  21. The fans are the one saying don't rock the boat and Hoskins/Vaughn are good enough. The front office knows there are holes that should be addressed
  22. The umpire needs to do their job there and give additional time. Just common sense, same as when the ump gets hit the catcher will will talk to the pitcher.
  23. Even though I was barely a teenager back then it was known that the Brewers could have had Cone or at least blocked the move to Toronto. There was some excuses like the Brewers can't claim everybody but it will always be a what if. The Brewers actually scored 20 runs on the Blue Jays the game before Cone's debut and then the Brewers beat Cone the next day. If the Brewers could have closed out that final game I think they would have caught them but they lost. The Jays never lost back to back games the rest of the way. The Brewers played well in September and even had a better record than the Jays but the deficit was too much to overcome.
  24. Peralta tied Bill Travers for 9th all time in Brewers wins Saturday with 65. Two more wins gets him to 67 with Chris Bosio. Will have to stick around for 2026 to get beyond that.
