  1. In reading these one thing I am surprised about is people seeing this on television. I don't really recall any home games being on tv during the late 80's when I started watching unless it was a national game of the week.
  2. Looking at the Brewers needs I think they could use another left handed bat. It is frustrating to see McCutchen hit cleanup vs. right handed pitchers all the time. Obviously he isn't paid all that money to be the weak side of a platoon but wouldn't mind Dahl or Singleton get some at bats at DH instead of McCutchen. The problem is one of Hiura/Brosseau is already being optioned when Urias comes back so probably not going to happen. However, if Mccutchen goes on the IL I do think they bring up one of the two.

  5. An update for those with families. There is still a kids play area with various activities on the Field Level by Right Field. The article indicated relocation of the children's play area that used to be housed on the Field level in the right-field corner. However, this is not correct, the smaller play area for younger kids that was behind home plate in the Terrace Level is now located in the Right Field corner on the Terrace Level. So in short still a play area on the Terrace Level and Field Level.
  6. Either way the Bucks are going to have a tough second round opponent. Similar to last year the second round will likely be tougher than the Eastern Conference Finals. My money is certainly on the Bucks/Nets/Celtics coming out of the East.
  7. Not good, Jace certainly hasn't eased my fears that he can duplicate what he did most of 2021. Hopefully this doesn't linger the whole year.
  8. A girl battling cancer was being interviewed on the Rays broadcast and then her favorite player Brett Phillips hit a home run. She also threw out the first pitch to Phillips. Phillips HR
  9. Feeling pretty good about this one. Win a couple, come back home .500 and put these first few games behind them.
  10. I don't understand why Counsell went with Cain over Rowdy. Rowdy has proven that he can hit lefties okay, certainly would take him over Cain every time at this point in their careers. If it was McCutchen or Renfroe on the bench against a lefty that is one thing but Cain is last option to pinch hit.
  11. I was encouraged by the 2 out rally, had him on the ropes. However, Renfroe is looking like first year Avi at the moment.
  12. I don't think it is that uncommon to split the catcher duties based on your starting pitching vs, the opponents. Since the starting pitching is going to determine success or failure of the Brewers more than offense I would probably go that route.
  13. Jean Carmona is still around from that Schoop trade but still low minors.
  14. Yeah, he has no options but kind of useless to the Brewers this season unless Narvaez/Caratini have a non season ending injury, then he can fill in. However, if they have a season ending injury the Brewers need to pick up somebody else since Severino can't be in the playoffs. Maybe playing the long game they could go with Caratini/Severino in 2023 since they are under team control.
  15. Going to be be way too optimistic and go off the board with Hiura. First one today.
  16. I was around the same age, in high school. Was excited by the quick start and was about to go 4-0 but they blew a lead in the eighth due to an error by Pat Listach that kept the inning going. Last year by Teddy Higuera as well. Looked good in April but all downhill after that for him and the team.

  20. Yeah, might as well call this one early and let everybody stay home.
  21. Kind of amazing this is the first time Tyrone Taylor has made an opening day roster but congrats to him. Has been with the organization since 2012.
  22. Didn't play at all between 2018-2020 which included a 100 game suspension. He certainly has had the talent but has a lot to prove and needs to makes better decisions. Even though Marijuana isn't real serious he knows the rules if he wants to stay in baseball. Glad he bought that gym during his downtime and stayed in shape.
