1. Yeah, can’t always count on this. Hopefully the starting pitching turns it around, but I’m not holding my breath on that. I’m not impressed with Chacin at all.
2. This is what I think of whenever Drake pitches.
3. Standard Brewers protocol... strike out for the second out and then deep fly for the third out.
4. It was on the grass wasn’t it? Didn’t look like it was trending that way. It was curving on the dirt and looked like it was going fast enough to roll foul.
5. You forgot that the Brewers normally don’t drive in runs though. Then again, they normally can’t get a bunt down either...
6. Brewers would have struck out for out two and then a deep fly for the third out.
7. Now we’ll have to put a pitcher in for a pinch runner. I’m sure he’ll get injured on the basebaths now.
8. I’m not much further behind you, and I’m just as snarky. If the Brewers coaches don’t see that as a problem, that explains why this team has never won a World Series. Just more of the “same old Brewers” (as we say among my friends year after year).
9. Because guys don't hustle on plays they think will be made, or so I was told. I cannot believe more people aren't upset at Santana and Villar today. Hustling is free. We are not good enough to win without trying our best. That’s so frustrating. I could have seen the Brewers not score if they were in the situation of the Astros yesterday over the Padres, simply because they wouldn’t have been hustling.
10. Why was Santana holding up on that? He would have been safe if he didn’t slow down. Same with Villar on the double that Hayward misplayed earlier. He could have been at 3rd. These are things that the coaches need to correct.
11. ... And that’s why you can’t have enough pitching depth.
12. Same for me. I’ve seen plenty of mediocre/losing Brewers teams in the 30+ years I’ve been a Brewers fan. What’s nine more if you win it all? Also, I’ve seen lots of mention of the Packers over the last 20 years. I’d trade the consistent winning (minus a couple bad seasons) for a few more Lombardi trophies during that period. I always say, only winning two Super Bowls during the Favre and Rodgers era is a shame and a disappointment.
13. This. It's like we are going half-way right now. The rebuild is over, but we don't have all the pieces needed to push us to the next level... adding a decent starting pitcher is one of the pieces that could do that.
14. But would you give a 5-year contract? With the total amount being less than expected for 5 years, the 6th year shouldn’t matter.
