  1. Many of Axford's curveballs don't look that bad. Good job by the Marlins to not swing at them.
  2. There's the first walk by Axford. Now we need two more before he can attempt the save.
  3. While these are tourist-y, when I went to San Francisco a few years ago I made sure that I went to Alcatraz, Fisherman's Wharf, walked across the Golden Gate Bridge, walked down Lombard Street, went to Chinatown, went up Coit Tower, walked through the business district where the TransAmerica building is, and pretty much went around most of the city. I also took a tour of AT&T Park (the Giants were out of town) and went to an A's vs. Royals game in Oakland. There's tons of places to go/see in that area so you can't go wrong.
  4. I was hoping that AAAlmonte would have declined and become a free agent. I don't want to see him in a Milwaukee uniform again since we have too many AAA players on the roster already.
  5. They probably should have pinch ran Gomez for Fielder after Mcgehee got a hit...especially since they like to send everyone on plays they shouldn't.
  6. I don't know if Bonds did this for kindness or for some other reason, but it is a nice gesture. However I could see an athlete/celebrity doing this for more selfish reasons since the donation, while life-changing for an average person, is just a drop-in-the-bucket of how much money they have. Also, a person could donate this money and "request" that it isn't reported to the media, knowing that it will eventually come out and be announced...say a month later. This way you can donate, helping someone else, and still appear humble, increasing others' opinions of yourself. Brilliant. Again, I'm not saying that's what Bonds did in this case, but it is a good idea...win-win for everyone involved.
  7. Is it Deloris? I never really understood that episode of Seinfeld because I don't think it really sounds that much like the female body part they were referencing. If the name isn't Deloris, I don't know what name you are referring to.
  8. It's been a long time since I've purchased any packs of baseball cards...around 10 years ago I bought a box of some Upper Deck cards that were a few years old at the time. I've thought about buying some every once and a while but never acted on it. This thread has peaked my interest in buying some cards again, except now there are so many different types/variations of cards within a card company/year/series/etc. Can someone explain what is meant by Jumbos, Hobbys, etc.? How much does a pack of 2011 Bowman cards cost roughly and how many cards do you get? Thanks!
  9. At least the Yankees fan's song is a spoof of the worst song in existence, "Friday" by Rebecca Black. If you haven't heard of it, I am surprised, but here's a link to it...be careful though because it can get stuck in your head. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CD2LRROpph0
  10. I was thinking the same thing. Also, right after Michael went through security he put on his shoes and then he took out the microphone. He would have had to take the microphone out when he went through the metal detectors. I believe it was in his inside coat pocket and you have to remove your coat and run that through the scanner so maybe that's what happened. Overall, I thought it was a good send-off for Michael.
  11. Do you know when they gave the Mr. 3000 bobble head out? I went to the first day recording at Miller Park. I assume they gave it out on the second day.
  12. This team just doesn't have any swagger right now. I can't see them pulling off a close win our a come from behind win anytime soon.
  13. Another win taken away from a good starting pitching performance. It's too bad that rarely do we have good pitching, offense, and defense.
  14. If all it takes to jinx some players is to put them on the Brewers magnet schedule, I think the Brewers should find a way to put the team photos for all the NL central teams on their magnets...
  15. Tried to order a Plush custom #2 jersey from mlb.com...Cancelled via e-mail 4 days later. Another example of MLB being fan-unfriendly. If anyone has a way of getting one, let me know...I'd really like to have some Plush-wear for the Brewers trip to Dodger Stadium. EDIT: Called the Brewers directly and they are shipping one out. It was more expensive, but I've got Plush fever and am a sucker for it. Did you actually order a custom #2 PLUSH jersey or a custom t-shirt? I can't imagine spending how much a custom jersey right from the Brewers would cost, but I am willing to pay the ~$40 for a custom t-shirt. If you were able to order the custom t-shirt directly from them I'll give it a try.
  16. As soon as I saw Jerry Hairston Jr. up to bat I thought to myself that he would hit a home run. For some reason players like him always seem to have their best games against the Brewers and their performances seem to cost the Brewers wins in close games.
  17. I really would like to get one of these in a XXL (especially since my custom PLUSH shirt order from brewers.com was cancelled), but I'm not going to be able to make it to any games for a while. Is there any way you could ship me one? If there's any way it would be greatly appreciated.
