  1. I'm pretty sure that's O'Shea's. When I was in Vegas two years ago this was the same place that was advertising strip poker. I wondered how they played that game...did anyone do this there?
  2. I agree with this statement...except for the hotel rooms. I've been to Vegas six times. The first two times I stayed downtown (dirty rooms)...the last four I've stayed on the strip (more resort-style rooms). I really enjoy the smaller feel of downtown, but it feels dirtier and scuzzier so when I went with my wife we of course stayed on the strip. I guess where to go all depends on your goals while you are in Vegas. If you are there to try to hook-up or go clubbing downtown isn't the place to be. I'm a happily married man and intend to stay that way so my goals when I go to Vegas are to just get drunk and have a good time while not spending too much money so I tend to frequent the smaller/older casinos. The tables have lower minimums (at least they did when I was there last 2 years ago) and the drinks are cheaper when you have to buy them. I also don't really like how big and spread out the resort casinos are. When I do head to the strip I usually hang out at Casino Royale for their $1 Michelobs...and I don't even like Michelobs but it gets the job done.
  3. I didn't really recognize her in that pic either. I'd like to see a pic where she is facing straight ahead. While Trenni is a good-looking girl and I am impressed by her knowledge of my favorite sport, in my opinion Erin Andrews completely blows her away looks-wise.
  4. I never leave anything lying out when I go into the game. We are usually done grilling out over an hour before game-time, so I empty out the charcoal right after we are done with the grill and it cools off pretty quick.
  5. This is always a major problem in the parking lots. The lot that is off of Bluemound only has 6 port-a-johns in it so lines get VERY long (probably 30 people or more in line at a time). With all the drinking going on, this leads to lots of public urination. I saw a lot of people that had their own homemade port-a-johns for their tailgate parties. I also saw a bunch of girls taking turns peeing into a bucket near their vehicle while the rest of them held a blanket around as a shield. I really wish the Brewers would do something about this. This has been a problem that I've noticed every Opening Day that I've been to for the last 10 years (or any big games/series...All-Star Game, Cubs series, playoffs, etc.). They were charging $15 a car in the lot I was in and they only had 6 port-a-johns. I can't imagine the excuse being that it's too expensive to have more out there.
  6. Please put me in for the Ben Sheets autographed ball. Thank you!
  7. What style is it? Is it the older wood seats or the newer plastic ones? What color is it?
  8. I remember when FSN switched to the score bar at the top of the screen a few years ago. They had it right up against the top and many TVs were cutting it off. They ended up lowering it down a bit very quickly, so hopefully if the problem is on their end they'll fix it soon.
  9. I tried not posting anything in this thread but I can't help myself. A lot of the things being discussed in here are some of the reasons why I frequently proclaim "I hate people." I know this sounds bad, but I can't stand how lots of people have no consideration for others. Every day whether its someone cutting me off while driving or just being lazy and not putting a shopping cart where it belongs I find myself shaking my head and wonder where we will be 10/20/50 years from now. It's sad that when someone actually does something "nice" for someone else that it is a surprising act and not something that is done on a regular basis. Some things that bug me: 1. People on their cell phones all the time (in lines at a grocery store/fast food restaurant, while driving, on the phone the exact second the pilot says you can use your phones, etc.). Why are these people on the phone all the time? Do people really care that you just landed and are waiting until the plane gets to the gate? Are they that important that they have to conduct business every free minute of the day? I understand that some people are extremely busy, but a vast majority of these people must just be on the phone to blab about nothing. 2. Inconsiderate drivers...there are too many examples to list. 3. I don't have a problem with people using their checkbooks/paying exact change at a store, but don't wait until everything is rung up before you dig in your purse. Have your checkbook/money out and start filling it out as they are ringing up your purchase. I don't mind if you write the check in your register, but you can do the subtraction outside of the line. 4. I work at a company where many people walk laps in the hallways. Every day (often numerous times a day) I will be walking with someone and will come across some walkers coming from the other direction. The hallway is really only wide enough for four people if they kind of squeeze together, but for some reason it always seems like the women (it always seems to be women for some reason) walking the other direction never squeeze together or shift their group so that they are only two people wide. My friends and I always have to form a single-file line and sometimes have to turn sideways to fit without running into them. I can't believe that these people won't move...I wish someone would run into them but then I'm sure someone would get fired. 5. People that don't hold a door open for you if you are right behind them or people that don't thank you for holding a door open for them (especially if you have to wait a couple of seconds for them). 6. People who refuse to follow the one-and-one rule when trying to exit a parking lot. It really bugs me when they intentionally squeeze in so tight that no one will even think about going in front of them and then they just look forward pretending that they didn't see you. 7. People that have a full cart of groceries and arrive at the checkout at the same time as someone with only a few groceries in their hands, and yet the person with the full cart goes in front of the other person. All I really would like to see is people think about other people once in a while. A simple act of kindness or a thank you still goes a long way. Sometimes I wish I were born 50-years earlier... edited:I guess my feelings aren't as bad as I made it seem with this initial post, but it really bugs me that a lot of people aren't considerate of others. I do realize that there are lots of good people out there and that's great, but I think the fact that I work in a very large office building and run across many people every day that I get to see lots of these negative things every day. I guess I am kind of a glass-is-half-empty type of person so I imagine that's why these stick out to me more than the positive things. Oh well....I can't wait for the season to start so I have other things to occupy my mind...
  10. I really wish the Brewers would do something about this...like have about 30 port-a-johns lined up in a row in each lot. I'm not a big fan of public urination so I usually wait out the incredibly long lines. I've even paid people to use their camper's toilets before. I once sent an email to Wendy Selig-Prieb about this years ago when the only dates that really were problems were Opening Day and any of the Cubs series. Obviously they didn't do anything about it then and they still don't do anything about it now when every game has tons more people at it than back then.
  11. What would you have for trade?
  12. I got the Pete Vuckovich pinstripe mini bobble in the mail today. Thanks much!!! Now to think of my good deed...I'm sure I'll bring some extra grub to share with my tailgaiting neighbors on Opening Day (unless they are Cubs' fans).
  13. That newspaper should have changed it's name then, since New York is not the entire world.
  14. Didn't Wisconsin become a state in 1848? That site has it at 1849...unless the state of Wisconsin was larger for one year.
  15. I found a site that lists the resolutions for each network, but it's from 2007 so I don't know if it is accurate anymore. http://www.cnet.com/1990-7874_1-5119938-1.html I also checked out Wikipedia and found this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_television_in_the_United_States
  16. I've discussed this before with a bunch of my friends that have HDTV's and HD-service. CBS and NBC HD broadcasts aren't very good for fast-motions like sporting events. ABC, FOX, and ESPN are much better. I've heard that CBS and NBC record the events in 1080i and the other stations are in 720p but I don't have any proof of this.
  17. Please put me in for the Pete Vuckovich pinstripe mini Thank you!
  18. yes...that is what they claimed at the end of last season. ..... I hope you are right, but I wouldn't bet on it. I remember hearing that all games would be in HD in 2009 near the end of last season as well, but then when there was a JSOnline article before spring training. The article stated that 150+ games will be broadcast on FSN for 2009. It then went on to state that the HD broadcast schedule wasn't out yet and that it would have more games than previously, but it didn't state anything about every game being in HD. Some of my friends and I spent the next day complaining about this to one another at work. I still have my fingers crossed that all games will be in HD, but I have a feeling that this won't be the case.
  19. I watched the entire video (somehow) and I can't tell which one is Fergie. Which one is she?
  20. Please put be in for the JJ Hardy 2008 bobblehead white. THANK YOU!!!
  21. I ordered four sets of the 9-game pack the first day that they were available with the free Opening Day tickets. I was told I should receive them in early to mid-March. I still haven't received anything yet. Has anyone else?
  22. Do you think if I set my TV to only display 720p that when I watch CBS & NBC that I won't see those blocky pixels when the camera changes to a high-motion shot? Or will it still probably do that because that is how the stations are filming the broadcast? I really hate how CBS and NBC get those blocky pixels....
  23. Does this "stepping" problem look like a bunch of pixelated squares for a brief moment, especially when they pan over a crowd or change the cameras? I've noticed that this happens often in certain channels (especially CBS HD football games) but never on other channels (ESPN HD, FOX HD, FSN HD). My TV is set to run at 1080i, so is the problem possibly that CBS is broadcasting in 1080i and the others are in 720p?
  24. There was a burger on the show "Man vs. Food" that fits into this topic. He was at a restaurant in Atlanta named Vortex and had a burger named the Double Bypass Burger. If I recall it consisted of a 1/2 pound patty, 3 fried eggs, 6 slices of bacon, 4 slices of cheese, and to top it off, instead of a normal bun, it was surrounded by 2 grilled-cheese sandwiches. If I ever get to Atlanta again I'm going to try to find this place!
