  1. Minnesota opens at home on March 28. That doesn’t seem like a good idea.
  2. In April, Corey Knebel suffered a serious left hamstring injury and missed 6 weeks. Since his return, he obviously hasn’t been nearly as effective as he was last year. Having been a right-handed pitcher back in the day and having suffered a left hamstring injury, it wouldn’t surprise me if the hamstring is a significant cause of Knebel’s struggles. I recall missing some of the flexibility and strength in my left leg which resulted in it being tough to get my upper body to rotate over my plant leg. This impacted my ability to keep the ball down. With a seemingly healthy arm and no drop in velocity, this seems to be a more plausible reason for his struggles than him waking up one day and sucking. Hopefully with an off-season of rest, we’ll see 2017 Knebel again in 2019.
  3. Jennings’ hanging curveball to Gennett was just one of several mental mistakes committed by the Brewers. If they can’t focus and put away teams like the Padres and Reds, they don’t deserve to make the playoffs.
  4. I’ve never understood how a reliever gives up a 2-out home run with nobody on. Just roll the ball up there.
  5. And the Dodgers are .500 since the trade. Bullpen help was needed more than a bat.
  6. This answers the question on who’s the odd-man out if a pitcher is acquired. That was brutal.
  7. Since acquiring Schoop, the Brewers are 2-7 when he’s in the lineup and 3-0 when he’s out of the lineup.
  8. We will never know. Did I say Schoop? I meant Braun, of course!
  9. This isn’t the right day to question Stearns’ view of pitchers.
  10. Except the Cubs wouldn’t have still been drunk, celebrating their August 12 World Series victory.
  11. Or he won’t even play against a lefty starter.
  12. If Schoop hits two bombs off Quintana in a Brewer win, all of the negativity will be forgotten.
  13. That was such an awesome win by the Cubs that they should all go on 48-hour benders.
  14. If by “finish”, you mean having 2 guys get hit by a pitch in an inning and another reach on a infield grounder, allowing one hard hit to score four runs, then yes, they know how to finish.
  15. It’s becoming apparent that Chase, besides one good year, is no better than Dave Bush, Mike Fiers, or Marco Estrada - other low WHIP, high HR types.
  16. Perez batting 5th and Schoop 7th. That tells you what Counsell thinks of the trade.
  17. Knebel may still be feeling the effects of the hamstring injury he suffered several months ago. That may be slightly impacting his flexibility, which then slightly impacts his mechanics, etc.
  18. Or Derrick Turnbow?
  19. Oh Geez. I forgot that Albers is signed through next year.
  20. Can Albers go back on the DL? His ERA is 28.80 his last 7 appearances.
  21. Chase is similar to Mike Fiers, Marco Estrada, and Dave Bush: low WHIP but a lot of Gopher balls.
  22. Schoop played around half of his minor league innings at SS.
