  1. That’s 50 RBIs for Aguilar in fewer than 200 at bats.
  2. I attended an Indians game recently. Terry Francona is the absolute worst in this category. I believe I sat through four pitching changes in one half inning. You could see it coming, and the thought in my head was, I could probably stand grab a beer at the stadium bar, finish the beer, and miss no action. I'm thankful that Counsell has gotten away from that approach this season. Hopefully it starts a trend.
  3. This part of the game can't be messed with. Holding baserunners is a huge part of being a pitcher. I think back to the Twins game when the Brewers had a one-run lead and Buxton reached first to lead off the inning. Hader, in the middle of his six strikeout outing, did a masterful job preventing Buxton from stealing second. Without this ability, stealing would become too easy and would lead to MLB being filled with more guys with speed who are bad hitters.
  4. That was one of the great regular season wins in Brewer history - all made possible by Counsell bringing in Hader in the 6th inning, down one run.
  5. Aguilar could get to 50 RBIs by his 200th at bat. I’m going to guess that no Brewer has done that.
  6. They were mentioning on radio last night how Pittsburgh doesn't do the "last game of the series is a day game" scheduling. I just hope other teams pass on that same favor to them. Looking at the Pirates’ schedule, they schedule day games if THEY have a road game the next day but not if the opponent has to travel to a game to take place the next day. What crap.
  7. This is one of two 2018 end of road trip night games where there’s a home game the next day. And there’s an 80% chance of rain. And the next opponent is St. Louis. And St. Louis is playing a day game ahead of their trip to Milwaukee so they’ll be the more rested team on Thursday. Thanks a lot, Pittsburgh schedulers!
  8. When rosters expand to 40 and if a starter is struggling, how about a game featuring Freddie Peralta, Taylor Williams, Jeffress, Hader, and Knebel?
  9. The Cubs have the least “been there before” and most “look at me” fans I’ve ever experienced. Brewer fans don’t act like this in Minnesota. Yankee fans don’t act like this at Citi Field. Cardinal fans don’t act like this when they make Wrigley look like Camp Randall Stadium. It humors me how they’re so proud of themselves for being from a population base 6 times larger than Milwaukee’s and so incredibly loyal and wonderful that they’re willing to drive one full hour to support their lovable team.
  10. Ji-Man may have a record ratio of memories for Brewers’ fans:games played at Miller Park (1).
  11. One of his baseball reference comparisons is to Dale Sveum, so we have that going for us.
  12. I like even-numbered year Villar and even-numbered year Guerra more than the odd-numbered year versions.
  13. Cubs lead the National League in OPS and ERA ... and they're 3 games behind the Brewers in the NL Central.
  14. It’s nearly a must win when those guys pitch multiple innings. Now we need a complete game from Chase to get things back in order.
  15. Ray is first in the organization in extra base hits (25 before Memorial Day) and third in walks.
  16. What happened to Aguilar getting an occasional start at 3rd? Then Santana could have hit 5th instead of Perez.
  17. A win that doesn’t involve Hader, Knebel, or Jeffress pitching essentially counts as 1.2 wins.
  18. How about Woodruff for 3 or 4 to keep him stretched out?
  19. The Brewers have been underdogs in 13 consecutive games.
  20. Besides blowing every hitter away, he did an outstanding job keeping Buxton from stealing second. Even the fact, out of all of the throws to first, none were thrown away was impressive.
