  1. This is the franchise’s best moment since the top of the 8th inning on October 1, 2019, 558 days ago.
  2. Peralta, the barely stretched out #5 starter is allowed to throw 91 pitches, and then Woodruff, the fully stretched out ace, is pulled after 74 pitches.
  3. Brewer catchers are batting a combined .519.
  4. I wonder if there’s a lack of confidence in Cain returning from his one-year hiatus and being close to his 2019 glove level and 2018 bat level.
  5. I wonder if there’s a lack of confidence in Cain returning from his one-year hiatus and being close to his 2019 glove level and 2018 bat level.
  6. With the Johnson & Johnson shot approved, it feels like anyone who wants a shot will get a shot by June. Hopefully that means full attendance being allowed after the all-star break at the latest.
  7. They should sell 10,000 tickets ahead of time (planning for an indoor game) and then sell the additional 5,000 at low prices if the weather will be decent / roof open.
  8. 15,000, but bundle up.
  9. Bucks are starting to allow fans, grading up from 1% to 8% of capacity through this Sunday. Then they plan 10% for four weeks and then potentially 25% starting in mid-March. The increase to 25% will require a new State order and will be dependent on if the new virus variant takes hold in the region. If all goes well, it could very well mean that 10,000 could attend the Brewers' opener.
  10. We’ll likely know over the next 4-6 weeks whether the more contagious, slightly less vaccine affected variant takes hold. That’s likely the key variable preventing these fan attendance issues from being decided now. Without that variable there are good signs regarding the decrease in cases, hospitalizations, and deaths, and improvements in vaccine application, especially in Wisconsin. If 10-15% capacity at Lambeau in January and similar levels are being contemplated at indoor Fiserv Forum later this month, I’d have to think we’re on track for fairly significant attendance at AmFam Field in April.
  11. Bucks are planning for fans at 25% of capacity as early as this month. This is great news for the possibility of attending Brewer games as, COVID conditions should be better in April than later this month and airflow is better at retractable roof AmFam Field than at Fiserv Forum. Plus you had the Packers allowing 8,000 or so fans for the playoff games. Unless the virus variant that doesn't react as well to the vaccine runs rampant, I would expect at least 10,000 fannies in the stands on opening day.
  12. Bad info from Buster Olney. There is not market saturation of slugging first basemen. Only nine at the position had an OPS over .800 last season. This was about Bell having a bad year and both sides placing bets on whether it was a trend or a blip.
  13. This could be a thread to post information about plans to allow fan attendance at 2021 Brewer games or blind speculation based on the vaccination schedule. Here's my guess: April 1 - 4,000 allowed attendance (10% capacity) June 1 - 10,000 (25%) August 2 - 22,000 (50%) September 3 - Full attendance I also wonder if the supposed vaccination cards could be a condition to enter.
  14. Hears a previous scouting report on Green: https://phuturephillies.com/profiles/departed-prospects/3b-zach-green/
  15. People who have to watch White Sox games are thankful this is occurring after MLB made the 3-batter pitching substitution rule. A Sox / Cleveland game could have taken 5 hours with LaRussa and Francona making multiple pitching changes each inning.
  16. I think he was mad like everyone else at not getting to see Snell continue an historic performance.
  17. If people in Tampa actually cared, they’d be rioting in the streets. Betts, Seager, and Turner were 0-for-6 with 6 K’s.
  18. Wow - Vin Scully’s favorite World Series moments include Brett Maverick Phillips (second half of video)!
  19. Dodgers have scored 20 runs in the last 5 1/3 innings. And the Braves don’t have their competent pitchers available until game 6.
  20. What’s the earliest a position player has entered in a game to pitch? It’s 11-0 Dodgers in the first, and the Braves are out of pitchers after yesterday.
  21. Pitchers are throwing so hard today that it’s nearly impossible to make contact enough times to center an offense around getting multiple hits in multiple innings to score single runs. The “fix” would likely be to move the rubber back a couple of feet, but that will never happen. Perhaps a new Moneyball will be to sign a bunch of Luis Arraez types. I’d like to see it, but it will be risky for the first team to try it. The way the Brewer offense struggled, I wouldn’t mind if Stearns tried it.
