I'd guess at least 3 or 4 weeks for Jones...and that's a total guess. Gary still needs an MRI to determine the severity.

To me, the point of the playoff is to see who the best teams in the country are. If that means a 2 or 3 loss SEC team so be it. 8 teams, auto bids for winners of B1G, SEC, ACC, Big 12, Pac 12 (yes, this might mean a crappy team gets in), seed based on ranking/algorithm, at-large for the other 3 based on same. Frankly, I think it probably should be 10 teams but then you'd need a bye in there or something.

I don't know how you can watch a workout and judge if a guy can read a defense or adjust to pressure in the pocket. Most 1st round QB's all have cannons for arms and you can see how mobile they are from watching games. I would think an in-person interview with direct questions like "what would you do in this situation against this defensive front?" would have way more value than watching a guy throw all over the field with no rush.

Yeah if the writers had their way, the Yankees would sign the top 10 available free agents and trade for a bunch of all-stars. I think these rumors come from teams (in this case Pittsburgh) to drum up value.

Have there been that many big bats from Japan? Seems like most have been pitchers. The big whiff was Fukudome and he was already 31 when he signed. Matsui was pretty good when healthy. I think we know a lot more about how that league translates to MLB and what their potential comps would be.
