I'm just glad the young guys got more practice and game reps. I saw a lot of freshmen and redshirt freshmen out there (Mertz, Engram, Witt, Logan Brown, Chandler, Dike, Berger, Lytle, Herbig, etc. etc.)
Nelson's PI on that play that was offset by the offensive PI was one of the worst plays by a Badger defender in years. Dude literally didn't look for the ball - just plowed into the guy. And Mertz has a weird loop in his throwing motion - sorta like Kyler Murray but not quite as bad - which I think hurts his accuracy. Certainly looks like the reason he's high on his throws. And lastly, why didn't that dude pick up the punt and try to run it in? Worked out ok but seems like a low risk move.
Thought I had a plumb matchup with the Chiefs. I had Hill and picked up Bell (because Robinson from Jax was out). Oh well. Lost by 8 as the other guy had Evans which pretty much negated Kamara.
Bob McGinn stated it much more succinctly than me: " In all, he broke seven tackles, and 90 of his yards came after contact. Three of four times, however, he ran into his blockers. He was running in a straight line into traffic. At this point, it’s unclear if he has the ability to cut and make people miss. If Dillon doesn’t have that, he’s going to absorb an excessive amount of punishment and the length of his career could be short-lived. "
The recommendations change as you learn more about the virus. And as for the media...I won't change anyone's minds on that in this thread but if all you're looking at is headlines and memes and watching cable news you aren't very well informed.
Bears fans have a false sense that their offense turned a corner after beating three horrible defenses in a row - Minnesota, Houston, and Jacksonville.
Someone who follows the payroll thing more closely than I do can chime in but I see SD on the hook for just over $143 million this year (using estimated arby numbers) In 2019 the Brewers had a payroll of just under $136 million. https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/milwaukee-brewers/payroll/2019/ Am I reading this correctly?
I'm guessing this is mostly because of what we can't see off the field rather than his poor performance on the field. The guy had question marks at the draft about his attitude and work ethic.
I would say most of that contact was on the 2nd level (and 30 came on the long TD run.) Point being, I want to see how quick his feet are. Jones is very adept at making a hole where there wasn't one initially.
I’m jealous of the fact the Padres can acquire a player of this magnitude and for them the phrase “give up the farm” has a very different meaning than it would for many clubs. Even after this trade the Padres are still likely to have a consensus top ten farm system in baseball. And they can probably just flip a few guys after this year and restock if need be.
Dillion was getting some nice holes to plow through. I'll be interested to see how he does when he doesn't have as much room to get a full head of steam.
