  2. so Luka Garza is pretty good I guess.
  3. Wayne Franklin was 25 when he first hit AA.
  4. Stop the Presses!! By your example above, the Brewers just picked up the next CC Sabathia! Look at CC's minors numbers: 54/ IP-257 / WHIP 1.286 / H9 7.3 / BB9 4.3 / K9 10.3 Somebody pencil Crawford in for opening day... give me a break. It's fine and dandy that the Dodgers gave a player in return to get Knebel, and I get that we're all a little Brewers news starved. But the best front office in the game was willing to move on from this guy because he has fringe major league velocity and a small frame that won't allow him to add more velocity. Again fine and great, as the news is welcome but lets be realistic here. Let's reel in that condescension, please.
  5. I'm thinking this is more about the expectations people had (i.e. very low) on the type of player coming back and are happier than expected. Not that everyone thought we had a future All-Star pitcher robbed from LAD. I think comparisons to Mike Fiers, Zac Davies, or even Suter are somewhat apt - non-heralded players that seem to get results. Its better than just non-tendering Knebel. Yeah his stats are better than what I would have anticipated. Not a big deal.
  6. Those are pretty darn good numbers for the launching pad leagues he was in. Heck, they're good numbers for anywhere but especially Rancho and Tulsa. edit: JINX
  7. Detroit's defense was bad before and I believe their top two defensive backs are out for this one. Trubisky was 26/34 for 267 yards against them. If this is close it will be due to turnovers and/or punt returns for TDs
  8. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XlOlR67c2Oc Enjoy the Brazilian call of the Rodgers to Rodgers Hail Mary.
  9. If you go to a Nashville game, I recommend Von Elrod's for pre and post-game festivities.
  10. Let's make sure any additional crime discussion is tied to Covid. (nodakfan, your post is fine. Just being pre-emptive)
  11. Here is a photo of Dick smoking a dart while juggling baseballs in the dugout. Dude was ripped:
  12. Yeah they do but it's fun to see their mongoloid fanbase squirm for a few days.
  13. You want to know how much the QB position has changed? Check out HOF QB and Suzy Kolber admirer Joe Namath's stats.
  14. And the '72 Dolphins breathe a sigh of relief.
  15. OK, time to drop it and move on. Thanks.
  16. Guys, let's pull back on the condescension.
  17. He runs a 4 - 3 doesn't he? Would they switch up the defense? Fangio runs a 3-4/4-3 hybrid. Majority of his defense are a 4-3 under scheme though he will change it up if the players don't fit under his scheme. He uses 3-4 against the run and 4-3 under against the pass. Quick edit the CB and safeties have to be high football IQ players to work in Fangio's coverage schemes. Thanks.
  18. He runs a 4 - 3 doesn't he? Would they switch up the defense?
  19. Quote from Luke Getsy: “Nothing compares to getting live reps, but as far as from where he was in training camp to where he is now, I think he’s much farther along and understands what we’re trying to accomplish in our offense.”
  20. Apparently, the game against Louisville on Wednesday has been postponed due to positive Covid tests from Louisville. Looks like it will get re-scheduled. Instead, Rhode Island will travel to Madison and play UW.
  21. Reds are also looking to trade Sonny Gray apparently. Fire sale!
  22. I'd be curious to know how defenses have changed over the last 30 years. I don't know this for a fact but I'm guessing they are way faster with a lot more pressure schemes than they used to have. Pocket only passers have sort of gone out of style the last 10 years. Or maybe that's just because athletes are allowed to play QB in high school/college more than they used to? I'm not sure.
  23. I think you need at least a Super Bowl appearance to get in. I don't know if that's really fair to a guy that never played with a defense, but seems to be a measuring stick that voters would use.
  24. Having a HOF quarterback and some skill players doesn't hurt either. Well yeah but just the lack of motion, the telegraphed run plays, the boring rout trees...the whole thing lacks any creativity Reminds me ofcCarthys offense that also had a HOF QB and some skill players.
  25. Watching the Broncos offense makes me appreciate just how good a play designed LaFleur is.
