  1. Thanks for the heads up. Not sure what we will be able to do but I'll forward to the other mods.
  2. Could say the same about athletes
  3. Some positive news out of Madison: https://www.jsonline.com/story/news/2020/03/30/coronavirus-plasma-treatment-trials-uw-madison-wisconsin/5087276002/
  4. Then it is a useless and dumb quote. The economy will take a hit and bounce back. In the US it has done so many, many times over.
  5. This is just dumb. You can't bring an economy back to life once it is dead it is dead. You can revive an economy but you can not bring it back to life. Dead is dead no matter what you are looking at. You basically have to start all over again with a new economy once it has died. Somalia and other countries around the world prove this point as the economy in Somalia has been tried to be brought back to life but it has failed over and over again. It is simply disingenuous to say an economy can be brought back to life it is like comparing COVID-19 to the flu. Just like life has to be born again the economy has to be born again once it dies. I don't think he intended that first sentence to be taken literally.
  6. Were you calling for a shutdown every flu season? 80,000 people died in the U.S. over the 2017-18 flu season. Nothing shut down, you had to scramble to even find a story about it. If those people are more important than the economy, we really should shut down for a few months every year. If flu season was two months long and we had same number of hospitalizations and fatalities, we'd probably have a different response.
  7. Yeah the pandemic sort of guaranteed an economic disaster regardless of the response. It's very possible that letting the chips fall where they may would have produced an even worse economic outcome but I'll let the economists argue about that one. "We know how to bring the economy back to life. What we do not know is how to bring people back to life." — Nana Akufo-Addo, President of Ghana
  8. It's a given that many thousands will die from this and the sad fact is that's inevitable. If we flatten the curve we will prevent people who could be saved from dying needlessly. I think that's an important consideration. If we all maintain the social distancing I think we will start to see this thing turn around in an order of weeks rather than months.
  9. Re: auto accidents They don't all happen in the same 2 - 3 month period and as such don't overrun the healthcare system.
  10. Ferguson did not "walk back" his model. The original model was if no controls were put in place.
  11. I think Ben Fennell posted on Twitter that Funchess could take a lot of the routes that Graham ran. It's not like Graham was blocking anyone anyways so not much of a downgrade as far as that goes. Tall dude that can match up with LBs.
  12. Agreed. It's excellent. The doc about ZZ Top is good too.
  13. I've seen a lot of buzz about Chinn.
  14. The rate at which new cases are doubling is now more than three days. It was just about two not that long ago. Social distancing at work?
  15. Re: Funchess My understanding it’s a one-year, $2.5 million deal for Devin Funchess with the #Packers — $1M signing bonus, $1.2M base salary, $50K workout bonus and $15,625 for each game active. Another $3.75M available in incentives, so max is $6.25M.
  16. Asking how companies handled this should be question #1 for every job interviewee going forward.
  17. I think he's talking about working from home and an employer telling you to get childcare. Not bringing kids to work.
  18. Very glad to see this. Love his potential.
  19. Very glad to see this. Love his potential.
  20. Yeah shutting down the lakefront was dumb. If someone runs or bikes past me and gets within six feet I still feel pretty good about my social distancing. Those photos are deceiving too - long lens compresses distance making it look like people are closer than they really are.

  22. Link? That's different numbers than the ones I saw from a French study.

  24. There is so much noise in the data right now it's really hard to model anything with any degree of accuracy.
