  1. The Reds are apparently going to coach their way back to mediocrity.
  2. I seem to recall talk of a Brew Pub being built near the river when Miller Park was in the planning stages but they wanted the city to pay for it and the mayor at the time didn't think the city should be building bars. With Potowatomi building their big hotel I doubt the Brewers will be doing anything similar.
  3. Yeah he's borderline unicorn.
  4. You say you can't pick apart certain parts and decide how it would have gone and then say the game would have been totally different had something not happened.
  5. Yeah that stuff evens out over the course of a season. Packers got a very favorable spot on a Davante Adams catch that would not have been a 1st down.
  6. Well yeah turnovers are the biggest factor in determining wins and losses. And since there was only one in the game it gave NE a huge advantage.
  7. Defense looked gassed in the 4th.
  8. There is just no creativity on offense. I'm not talking about trick plays, just so little misdirection, picks, etc. It's like let's all run down field and float around until Rodgers scrambles or throws a back shoulder fade.
  9. The Bucks scored 144 on Sacramento today. They are good.
  10. The way I look at acorns is that it's money you never would have invested anyway. So what's a dollar out of $25 each month if you were never going to put that $24 away in the first place? Also, that dollar stays a dollar no matter how much you have in there. If it was 4% all the time then yeah it's outrageous.
  11. While I agree, didn't Yelich hit better when being more aggressive earlier in the count? Yes and it was on purpose. The theory is that pitchers are more likely to throw in the zone early in the count. Rather than wait for the pitcher's "out" pitch you attack early. It can be frustrating to see guys ground out on the first or second pitch but obviously can't quibble with Yelich's results.
  12. At the very least he would provide some depth given Wilkerson's injury
  13. I don't even know who the Brewers assistant hitting instructor is...or if they have one. Anyone giving this dude credit or blame for anything the Cubs did or didn't do is really pushing an agenda.
  14. Wouldnt surprise me if there were a few quotes between now and end of spring training that shed more light on these departures.
  15. Seems odd the Brewers wouldn't match. I don't think these guys make all that much in the grand scheme of things. Why not just give him the extra dough? Makes me think the Brewers approach to pitching doesn't jibe with some of the old school guys. Maybe they feel like their opinion isn't valued anymore.
  16. Big game with Toronto on Monday. They are also undefeated.
  17. Yes they were more aggressive when Wilson was QB.
  18. Thing is you also take dumps on people who are trying to be postive. Sometimes its ok for someonle to get exited about a small sample. Really, it's not hurting anything. I appreciate your contributions but you can be really sanctimonious at times.
  19. I think it made it to Deadspin. I have a very clear memory of someone on here getting upset that another poster would tip them off about it. I could be confusing this story with another one though but I'm fairly certain it was the Hendrickson dad thread.
  20. Seriously? I need to see this. Yes, please. It's been so long that it would take some super sleuthing to find it but basically Ben's dad came on here ripping the org for this that and the other thing. Someone told Deadpsin and they posted a short story with quotes and what not. Eventually Ben's mom (estranged from the dad) came on to apologize for him. The dad was a real piece of work. I think he held a grudge against MLB because they never scouted him or something to that effect. Guessing that was about 2004? As for link to that thread I am guessing it disappeared when the site went through the big migration back in 2004-2005. Someone else might know better than me though. It wasn't archived I know that for certain.
  21. "Last year, the Bucks shooting guard took just 18 percent of his shots at the rim, 52 percent from mid-range, and 30 percent from behind the 3-point line. This year, his attempts in the mid-range have been drastically decreased. Thus far, Middleton is taking just 24 percent of his shots from that in-between zone, a range where he was among the league’s elite last season, and bumped up his shots at the rim and from deep considerably. He is taking 24 percent of his shots at the rim, the highest percentage of shots there for him since his rookie season six years ago in Detroit, and a staggering 52 percent of his shots from 3-point range." From aritcle on The Athletic.
  22. I think Joe Fan needs to see a bit more before they can put the "Same ole Bucks" line to bed. It's not like Bud was a household name to most. There is a significant visual difference between this team and teams of the last 15 years. People will catch on soon enough.
  23. The time that Brewerfan made Deadspin. That was hilarious.
  24. 4 - 0 If you haven't checked out the Bucks yet you should probably do so. Offense is unrecognizable from years past. They scored 49 in the 2nd quarter tonight.
  25. Wonder if it would hurt UW. Guys that walk on at UW would most likely be scholie players at UWGB.
