  1. 2nd positive test drug of abuse.
  2. Giannis is signed through 2020-2021 And the Bucks bench has been one of the better ones in the league. I think they are top 10 per some rankings.
  3. Or he's selling high. Maybe he and the staff think Thornburg out produced his stat line last year.
  4. Looks like he's always been a K machine but as is usually the case he's had control issues. Good guy to take a flier on for sure.
  5. Giannis just turned 22 and is arguably top 10 in the league (easily top 10 defensively) and getting better. He is doing things at 22 that very few NBA players have ever done at that age. I'm not sure people realize how good this kid is.
  6. Eaton is half the price and way younger. Ryan Braun is a bit better offensively, but Eaton makes up for any gap with his defense. Eaton is in his prime while Braun is likely to decline. I can't understand why anyone would even think about wanting Braun over Eaton. Honestly you can use any way to grade out the two players and Eaton>Braun. It is a no brainer in my opinion. Seems like the people getting paid to run baseball teams for real also think that too. We probably couldn't have even gotten Reynoldo Lopez for Braun, but Eaton got a Top 5 MLB Prospect plus Lopez plus a 1st round selection. Lets put 2 and 2 together. Stop making sense. Everyone knows that people on this board have the best pulse on everything know to man. People can't even analyze the Thornburg deal how can you expect that to happen here. I love that people are saying analytics are wrong. My goodness Not hard to re-word that into an opinion without denigrating others. Feel free to give it a shot.
  7. Man if the White Sox trade Quintana they could have a sick system almost overnight.
  8. I'd expect Giolito for Braun. For Eaton? Huh?
  9. If the Brewers were a big market team you could afford to wait. But it's really a kick in the pants for the Brewers to wait on a guy only to have him fail or get hurt. I think that's one of the reasons they traded Khris Davis when they did. Couldn't afford to take the risk of him getting hurt again.
  10. I mean...the Brewers traded for Zach Greinke and CC Sabathia not so long ago. We rented them. One rental a bit longer than the other with zero chance of ever keeping either of them. That's a different topic then. Brewers can and have traded for top tier pitching. We aren't talking about signing a free agent.
  11. I mean...the Brewers traded for Zach Greinke and CC Sabathia not so long ago.
  12. Your assuming Gennett will be the one traded and not Villar who's value is much higher? Why not deal Villar now when his value is high? With the likes of Dubon and Diaz in the system, why risk Villar slumping in 2017? Because Villar is under control for several more years, he can play multiple positions, and it's not out of the realm of possibility that he's on the team when they contend.
  13. Wow. Red Sox takin' it up a notch today.
  14. Classic Stearns trade (can we say that already). Buying low on guys with injury history, guys that can play all over the field, and guys that are controllable. Me likey.
  15. To bad we just traded them for Trout in this situation. I'm going off the original proposal in this thread which admittedly is not close to enough.
  16. There are a bunch of hotels by O'Hare next to the Blue Line. You can take that downtown, transfer at Jackson and take Red Line north to Wrigley. There isn't really anything right on the red line hotel wise unless you want to pay an arm and a leg. You could potentially look into Evanston area and take purple line south and transfer to red line. Might help to know what direction you are coming from and if you are driving or flying. Also Air BnB might be an option and get you a lot closer to Wrigley.
  17. It could work but pretty much every single one of the top minor league pitching prospects has to pan out. I don't see any of the six guys listed outside of maybe Broxton on the next contending team. And if he continues to improve you have to think they'll trade him to make room at some point.
  18. I'm kind of in love with Giannis.
  19. If he is traded, I'm guessing an AL team that needs a DH/1B is the destination.
  20. Key point from that article (which is really well done): The reasons to love this move have to do with the best- or even medium-case scenarios, which include ... Having a $20 million slugger for a quarter of the cost, ready for the next good Brewers team Having a $10 million slugger for half of the cost, ready for a team in search of left-handed power at the trading deadline Having a $5 million slugger for exactly what he’s worth, which at least makes the team that much more watchable
  21. Obviously a "win now" move for Seattle. AZ just trying to re-tool after the Stewart fiasco. Looks to me like AZ got the better end of the deal but all depends on how Walker fares. Definitely sold high on Segura and bought low on Walker.
  22. I think the Brewers' Farm has finally reached the point where we have to lose some people with potential. You just hope you protect the right ones! How many Rule 5 draftees stick with the drafting team every year? 2-3 tops? Most teams pass on the Rule 5 draft altogether. You can't stash an unlimited number of quality prospects in your system though. Eventually you'll start to lose them and/or their disappointing performance will dictate they are no longer prospects. I would hope they are close to the point where the trading of a quality player off their roster will result in some major league talent back. That was my biggest beef about the timing and the decision on Davis. I could have lived with the Braun to the Dodgers proposal that was out there because it included a major league talent like Puig coming back in the deal. Why do you need major league talent coming back? What you need is the best talent period. Controllable talent is even better in a small market. Getting MLB talent back for the sake of getting MLB talent means ending up with Kevin Mench.
  23. MLB put Walker at #28 on the Brewers top 30. I don't know where he was on Minnesota's list.
  24. Stearns seems to be taking more risks on guys coming off of injury. Guess he sees a market inefficiency there.
