  1. This has a chance to be one of the better High A teams the Brewers have had in a while at least from a prospect perspective. "Some of the Brewers' best young players figure to start next season at the Class-A Advanced level. Those could include 2016 first-round draft pick Corey Ray, reigning Brewers minor-league player of the year Isan Diaz, pitchers Phil Bickford, Cody Ponce, Marcos Diplan, Kodi Medeiros and Devin Williams and infielders Jake Gatewood, Lucas Erceg, among others." Above quote is from OnMilwaukee.com
  2. Woo hoo!!!! Zebulon here we come!
  3. But we didn't know that. Hindsight is fun.
  4. Per Fangraphs, Segura went from -22.1 offensive WAR last year to plus 25.9this year. Yowzers. Looking a little deeper... He's got a .354 BABIP so his average is going to probably drop next year but he's definitely hitting the ball a lot harder so the slugging is real. Makes the last two seasons all the more frustrating. I'm not upset with the trade though. I think at the time most people thought we fleeced AZ and if it turns out to be an even trade that's just fine.

  6. I guess but does that really help the organization? He's no longer working with amateur scouting and the draft which were his strengths and something we need to have our tops guys working on. The husband of one of my wife's friends was talking about his recent promotion a couple years ago. He said, "I was so good at being an engineer they gave me a promotion and are paying me more money to not be an engineer anymore." I mean I get it but I don't get why people who are very good at their jobs gets promoted to positions where they aren't doing what they are good at anymore. Seems counterproductive to me. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_principle
  7. Johnson did go to scout school so he's not oblivious to that side of things.
  8. You've made your point (several dozen times). You are upset they traded Davis. Time to move on.
  9. The new Bucks arena will never get a Final Four. I can almost guarantee this is not the announcement. Just heard him mention it once upon a time.
  10. Doesn't the heating system go 30 degrees above the outside temp if needed? That feels pretty dang warm compared to the outside temp as far as baseball games go. For the winter obviously that isn't ideal. The problem with hosting winter events is the fact there is about to be a state of the art downtown arena very soon. Miller Park doesn't make a ton of sense. All the major events one can think of would be better off going to the new Bucks arena. If you want to host a regional final in the NCAA, I don't think +30 degree limit will get you the gig. Could be in the 20's in Milwaukee in March.
  11. I heard Schlesinger say they wanted to play a basketball game in there at some point. Maybe they are upgrading the heating system so that can happen?
  12. Now that Davies is done for the season, I thought I'd update this post. The total line is what he's done since the beginning of May. Reminder that this kid is only 23 years old. http://i.imgur.com/23rFB8d.png
  13. Really? We hadn't noticed.
  14. The smiley face on my post meant I was kidding around.
  15. Hmmmm....I think I need to see more innings before thinking he's turned a corner. His August numbers were very similar to his June numbers. The big difference is that his BABIP was 30 points lower in August so his ERA was much lower than it was in June. Some guys can explain that away by generating softer contact but he actually generated harder contact in August than in June on average. Maybe the defense got better? At any rate his Sept numbers have been much better so maybe there is something there.
  16. Davis has 23 solo home runs. He's not clutch.
  17. Odd thing about Davis is that he was an OBP machine during his minor league career. And his BA was always up there too. Maybe he just decided he'd be better off jacking homers. Who knows?
  18. I don't think the Royals had a legit #1 or 2 in their rotation the last couple of years.
  19. Davis is probably one of the worst defensive outfielders in baseball. That needs to be part of the discussion.
  20. I90 is a tollway from roughly O'Hare out to Rockford. It's toll free from O'Hare to downtown. If you are taking I90 from Janesville/Madison, etc. to Indiana and want to avoid tolls you are in trouble. I94 is a tollway from the WI/IL state line until roughly Lake-Cook road near the far northern suburbs. You can avoid tolls by taking Hwy 41 right after you cross the border. It's actually shorter but there are something like a dozen lights to deal with. Hwy 41 meets up with I94 again in the northern burbs (right after toll way ends) If I'm not in a huge hurry I take this route all the time. I90 and I94 merge into one giant road right as you enter the city. It is almost always a mess at that point. They stay merged until you get to the south side of town. If you stay on I94 you won't have tolls but if you are on I90 you will. Tolls on I90 start up again when it splits from I94 on the south side (This is the Skyway Bridge). As for traffic, yeah it kind of stinks most of the time. But there are definitely lulls. If you get to I94/I90 merge between roughly 1030 and 230 you probably won't have too many delays. You won't be driving 60mph or anything but you might be able to average 45mph. Google Maps or Waze are your friends when telling you which route is fastest at a particular time of day.
