  1. Right but then in the post-game he pretended like he wasn't even trying to get Dekker in there (he was and the refs wouldn't let him in because it wasn't a shooting foul). He said he didn't want to mess with Evans' head or something. Again, it's obvious he was lying....maybe to build up Evans or whatever.
  2. Although I'm not sure he was trying to foul. I saw an interview where he said he was going for the ball. And Bo seemed really confused in the post game interview when Dakich confronted him about not fouling. Seemed like he changed his tune in the post game same way he did last year when he talked about not having Berggren in there against Syracuse at the end of the game. Makes me wonder if Bo is getting old and forgetful.
  3. I think you make that 3 times out of 100. But whatever....point was that if that's the shot that ties the game so be it. Not much you can do.
  4. I give Bielein a pass on not fouling. I mean it took a shot that probably was about a 3% chance of going in to tie the game. That's probably worse odds than the odds of making a free throw, missing, and making a two point shot. As for not fouling during the tie game, Bruiser did foul him. He hacked him pretty good right before that shot but there was no call. Now whether or not Bo called for that I don't know.
  5. I still think Florida is going to take it. Should be a sweet tournament.
  6. Good point, that makes sense. Just heard a lot of that yesterday so I started to see where they were coming from. Didn't think about that angle. Right and he was a "consultant" not an "expert witness". There's a big difference.
  7. If Braun can't or won't produce evidence that he used this Bosch guy as a consultant only, then I'm forced to solidify my feeling that he's been guilty all along.
  8. Well, this does not sound good as it pretty much contradicts what Braun said in his statement. Cornwell wasn't the only attorney on the case.
  9. I don't think its his real name.
  10. Not sure if this has been mentioned here or not. Creator of FIP is a full time Cubs employee: http://espn.go.com/blog/chicago/cubs/post/_/id/14619/qa-new-cubs-saberist-tom-tango
  11. Immediately thought of this (NSFW due to one bad word):
  12. Change of scenery might do him well. Want to wish him luck but he plays for a division rival so.....go suck eggs, Manny.
  13. Scott Rolen wants to continue to play. Posted this in the bench thread but may be more appropriate here. At least he can play two positions.
  14. I think Scott Rolen would make some sense if he was willing to come off the bench. He's been hurt a lot but if he's not playing everyday then the odds of him getting injured goes way down. He could be a nice right handed power bat off the bench and play 1st in a platoon with Gamel to start the year and then spell Hart and Ramirez once or twice a week and then fill in for a week or two when either one of them inevitably goes on the DL.
  15. Green can play several positions. Overbay can play one. And Lyle is no spring chicken anymore. He's 36 (as of Monday. Happy Birthday, Lyle).
  16. I think drafting for need in baseball, more so than any other sport, is a recipe for disaster. Given the amount of time it takes to develop most players and the high flameout rate amongst all players drafted, you have to take best player available.
  17. Yeah if the seniors would start playing well on offense they'd really have something. I think I read somewhere that the three of them combined have shot like 30% the last three games.
  18. I think it depends on the situation - i.e. if the guy has options and the Brewers can retain him but stick him in the minors then it's not so bad.
  19. Indiana has drafted perfectly and they still won't win an NBA championship. They will top out at Eastern Conf. Finals....if they're lucky (and they will be if Derrick Rose doesn't come back to be the same player he was before he got hurt).
  20. Well they had to win the lottery to get Big Dog. I think that's the point people are trying to make is that they need a few top three or four picks.
  21. I think you guys underestimate the desperation for starting pitching. I'd be willing to bet Jurrjens gets a ML deal of some kind if he's deemed healthy. He's probably WORTH a minor league deal but I don't think that's what he'll get.
  22. Chauncey Billups was the #3 overall pick in 1997, and was second in scoring on that team and led them in assists. Technically Darko Milicic was a lottery pick, arguably the worst pick in NBA history considering the talent picked after him, but had no impact on the team. I didn't even look Billups up. Thought he was a mid 1st round pick for sure. But Detroit was his fifth team so it's not like he was a cornerstone player or anything. And I knew about Darko but he barely played at all.
  23. Yep. They win that game if they shoot even 62% from the line(11/18 is like 61.6). So sad. Hard to believe every returning player got significantly worse at shooting free throws. Berggren was just awful last night.
