  1. Is he a free agent? I know the Braves were rumored to be non-tendering him. Did that ever happen? Is he a guy you take a flier on? No more than a two year deal. Would prefer one year but doubt that would get him.
  2. You can build a championship "team" through the draft but it's really hard. I think Detroit was the last team to win it all without a bona fide super star. The only lottery players on that team were Rash-weed (4th overall but on his third team at that point) and Rip Hamilton who was fourth. Hamilton was a very good NBA player at the time but not at the Lebron, Kobe, or Dirk level that recent NBA champs have had.
  3. Pressure is off to a large degree. Maybe that helps him.
  4. I think they could win a playoff series with anyone other than Miami. I mean they're only 4 games behind the two seed right now. Having said that, I don't expect them to win but it's not like year's past where there's a huge difference in the east between the top and bottom of the playoff bracket. But that also isn't a reason to NOT blow up the team. Just another reason that Kohl probably won't.
  5. Losing Sanders in the 3rd didn't help matters. Still, they've blown enough games in the 4th that I'm happy with anything at this point. I wonder if Kohl will let Hammonds trade Jennings? Doubtful.
  6. I don't think the brain damage issue is plausible. As far as I know, the only guys that have showed brain trauma are those that played in the NFL for a number of years and even those guys don't show symptoms until later on in their careers. Keith Law should stick to writing about what he knows.....what that is I don't know because he doesn't know much about baseball.
  7. Well I think that's part of the story and I wouldn't say the media is ignoring it at all. Several outlets have mentioned the clear double standard that Notre Dame is calling Te'o a "victim" yet never once said that about Lizzy Seeberg.
  8. So I realize this is about a football player, but I feel it's more of a social/cultural story than pure football so I'm starting a thread. There's just too much going on with this to do it justice in a post so I'll just link to the Deadspin article. Wowzers. http://deadspin.com/5976517/manti-teos-dead-girlfriend-the-most-heartbreaking-and-inspirational-story-of-the-college-football-season-is-a-hoax
  9. Iowa is having a special ceremony to honor the memory of Chris Street, who died exactly 20 years ago Saturday in that car accident. Seems like whenever things like that are going on the affected team plays their game of the season. Going to be really tough for Bucky to pull one out under those circumstances. . I dunno if the Chris Street thing will have a huge impact. He died before most of the student body was born.
  10. They don't have a 6'10" guy or anything but they have a very solid recruiting class of forwards coming in the next two years including Vitto Brown and Nigel Hayes. All are 6'7" - 6'9". Brown and Hayes are big dudes. Match that with Dekker and and Koenig and that's a solid group. And a lot of people thought Berggren would only be a role player too. Don't write off Kaminsky just yet.
  11. Right. It's not like they can predict who the Brewers will receive in a trade.
  12. Jackson is light years better than he was even a month ago. You could see small flashes last year that he wasn't intimidated by situations and I assume that comes from having a father that played in the NBA. His decision making is still a bit suspect at times but I really like what I see out of him. As for next year.....they might struggle with a guard heavy team but the next two years after that - watch out.
  13. Here's a link to the highlights. Berggren's dunk is the first thing they show. http://espn.go.com/video/clip?categoryId=2459792&id=8848513
  14. I think it's limited to 55GB. I need like 2TB of space.
  15. I am looking for an online storage site to backup my external drives. I work in video so I need unlimited storage. I looked at Carbonite, and they allow you to backup external drives but only for a PC and I have a Mac. I am willing to pay for this (frankly, the free services with unlimited storage seem kind of shady) but don't want to break the bank. Just need a place to securely store my files in case my external drives are stolen or crash. Thanks in advance.
  16. Thanks for sharing!
  17. Michigan plays almost as slow as UW. They average a little more than 1 possession more per game. Florida plays super slow as well.
  18. Looks like the Kings are moving to Seattle barring a last minute change of heart from the Maloof brothers. That takes one city off the list of potential Bucks poachers.
  19. Who's the guy from Wauwatosa that tried to buy the Mets? Maybe he could be the primary and have Attanasio as a part owner. Obviously just throwing darts at a wall here. The guy that owns the Minnesota Wild is another option.
  20. I really wish Kohl would sell the team.
  21. Screw it, I'm off.
  22. Screw it, I'm back on the bandwagon. Go Bucks!
  23. Agreed. That's why I find it odd that they are trying to stockpile pitching now. It's not like they're trying to get young guys to build around.
  24. Not sure why instead of "having fun with it" they didn't have him talk to a psychologist or someone that might be able to help out? Obviously have no idea how severe it was, but if the team recognized it and thought felt it was appropriate for him to see someone, this thread wouldn't exist. Sad. First of all it's quite possible they did do just that. Second of all, from what I recall it was sort of an alter ego he would use to fire himself up - ala Tony Plush. No reason to blame anyone at all for this turn of events.
